  2. Defectable for the hole for cold side piping? I know reo bar is defectable and imo very dangerous but have heard it is possible to install whilst only taking a few cm out the back of the reo?
  3. Ok cheers, mine is the kit that goes up both sides so will need to cut a 3" hole for it (have this already - dont want to be like my mate who cut a rectangle with an angle grinder -.-) Will give it a crack and see how I go what was this rotary tool called, roughly how much was it?
  4. Hey all, Have a FMIC kit ready to go on my 33 gtst, been meaning to give installation a go but having a hard time finding enough free time to get it done. Been reading a fair bit on install guides and the like, but considering paying someone else to install it for me since i would have to buy necessary tools like die grinder etc. to do the job properly (not keen on going anywhere near my front bumper with an angle grinder) - and money would probably be better spent on install. Anyone who's paid for install have any idea what's reasonable for a FMIC install, or even anyone in Perth on here keen on doing it? Or is it really that easy it's worth doing DIY? Cheers
  5. Yeah taking it back and ordering a decent metal one online. It's flat at the moment but bends like a mofo under any pressure (i.e being bolted to the AFM)
  6. Oh yeah they're definitely tightened up equally. The plastic adaptor is warping from what I can see, should teach me right for buying Supercheap auto rubbish -.-
  7. All tightening the bolts more does is pinch the rubber so we have a big lip of rubber hanging out. There's a paper gasket on the AFM that was there from stock, I'm going to try straighten out that plastic adaptor and affix the rubber gasket to it then report back. Seems crappy Supercheap plastic adapters are not all that great
  8. Pretty sure we have one at work, will try borrow it over the weekend to check
  9. Here's the gap I'm talking about. When looking from above with the pod removed it seems tight but want to be sure. Perhaps a sealant is necessary?
  10. Hey all, just bought a 33 gts-t and plan to fit a FMIC this weekend. To make this fit have had to install a POD filter and just a little concerned with the gap between the AFM and the adaptor ($12 from Supercheap) It's a genuine K&N filter, there was a rubber gasket that came with the adaptor, on the sides where bolts are closest it seems to seal properly but I am very concerned with the long sides as there is a visible gap between adaptor and the paper seal on the AFM - don't want any unfiltered crap sneaking in. I'll post a pic as soon as I am using a computer, any help would be much appreciated. For now put stock airbox back on until I can be confident the filter is sealed properly.
