  1. hey R34NOS, I think I saw you up at palm beach a few weeks ago with an R32 GTS-T... the other day I spotted a nice R34 GT-T, white, gold nissan badge on the front down the bottom of the front bar (on the lip) in avalon... was parked next to a Grey WRX Club Spec Evo 3 anybody on here? EDIT: also the other week I saw a silver R33 GTS-T Series II getting raped by cops at long reef, saw the cops looking in the car and shit, and the driver looking pretty pissed off... was that anyone on here?
  2. generally they snap because they arent tightened with the right torque settings. if they're overtightened, because of the different material of the nuts and manifold, etc they'll expand at different rates when they heat up - and this causes them to snap off... this is what i've been told/have heard, as i dont actually own a line, anyone is free to correct me.
  3. Pics pics pics... :cooldance You all suck. :spcartman Cheapasses... :chairshot Now go buy the magazine to redeem yourselves! Excuse the quality btw, taken with my phone... dont have a scanner hooked up to this computer.

  9. yeah, shouldnt you guys already know this from watching initial d? nah I've had a similar thing happen to me mate - i was going around a long sweeping left hander when it was wet, i was doing 30km/hr (in a diesel merc) and not braking/accelerating - and the back end stepped out. luckily i was able to opposite lock and feed in some accelerator to shift the weight back a bit, but i still didnt regain traction, feed in some steering the opposite way (fishtailing kind of) whilst trying to get traction back through the accelerator... finally gripped to the road, 5m before the front of a truck in the other lane!!! the guy in the truck was dumbfounded, from his point of view, this old merc (with P plates ) just came sliding around a corner and almost whacked into him... he was beeping his horn and giving me nasty gestures - but of course i didnt do it intentionally... but yeah, same thing dude - low speed, not doing anything stupid at all - and it just slid out (no leaves on this road tho, probably just oil) so be careful out there guys! glad to hear you're alright tho... lucky, very lucky!

  13. what's with all this ban talk? anyway, why cant you just register on the site cerealkiller? it's free... :headspin:
  14. I saw you guys at Newport, - I live over at Avalon. I don't own a skyline though =( or any car atm for that matter. So I didn't come up and say hi or anything... I might be picking up an S14a later in the year after I go to court tho, so maybe another time you guys are up here Nice cars tho, who's the P plater with the R34 GT-T?
  15. Yeah, P-Zero's are good in the wet, and yes - there's a fair size difference in the tyre footprint, but I was just saying - if you're using cheap-ish tyres and want better traction, sometimes you can find a better improvement from going to different rubber than going up in rim width. I wasn't saying anything against going up in the rim width at all - i was just highlighting that if you're after better traction it can be something (cheaper, sometimes) to consider. EDIT: Obviously you understand that - so it's all sweet and my post was pretty much useless then Anyway, the rims really do suit IMO - however some might say white/white has been done and done again - but don't let a "common" style put you off changing. All that matters is if you're happy with your cars looks .
  16. Do it! The 2nd pic looks awesome =) Dont put this off you getting the rims, but as far as better traction - tyre compound/brand plays a more important role than small changes in width... obviously going from something heaps skinny like 6.5" to 9" is going to improve it heaps (actually it depends, because in the rain you have more water running over the surface... but that all comes down to the tyre design too) - adding an extra .5" for more traction, you may find going to a diff tyre brand would help more...
  17. merli, mate, did you even see what i wrote at the very end of my original post? I was just saying that whilst all of these things/ideas will go on to help in the future - it wont stop the problems now - so maybe in that sense - we need to push that notion to the media/government - that yes, there is a problem - but that by doing something now - it will fix things in the future... I don't think the media, or perhaps even the government to an extent - realises that bringing in all these ridiculous ideas they have, or even the sane ones - wont stop unnecessary accidents/injury/death immediately. I guess that's all I was trying to say?
  18. First of all, I'm 18 and on my Green Ps... and I dont drive a high-powered car, but that hasn't stopped me from making some big mistakes. Edge, whilst your proposal is extremely intricate and well thought-out... I believe there is a huge problem with it. Yes, P platers and young drivers often lack responsibility and do stupid things (hey, I've been there and I'm paying for it - going to court in April) - but one thing that I know for sure - is that no matter what rules you implement for future generations - there are absolute idiots out there on the road, RIGHT NOW, with *full licences* who have been driving for DECADES... not JUST driving for decades, driving IRRESPONSIBLY! After my mistake, I now sit on the speed limit, going over by 5-10km/hr if only to get through some traffic, or to overtake someone who I feel is a risk... The amount of full-licence holders who tail gate me, overtake me and then pull in front of my car giving me only 5m or so from their rear bumper (i try to maintain a 3 second gap ALL the time, even more in the wet)- it's insane. People are idiots, people, of ALL AGES do *not* realise the dangers of driving, they dont realise that not leaving a proper gap might one day cause them, their passengers, and even other people around them - serious injury or death... No amount of ad campaigns, no amount of driver training for young people - will change those views of the people who are already out there. It's taken me a 30km/hr over speeding fine, and an accident in the wet which wrote off my car (NOT speed related, and I wasnt doing anything stupid, it was the circumstances) - to realise how many things are being done incorrectly by the drivers out there on the roads. I really feel it's just luck, or maybe driver skill on some peoples part - that so many accidents are avoided. Some of the things I see every day, and I'm sure others see too - it just amazes me that there aren't more accidents, that people DON'T realise how stupid the things they're doing truly are... It's really a lost cause IMO - we're all human - we're all faulty in some respect - so yes, there are those of us out there trying to do the right thing with driving and driving attitutes - but like anything, the small good minority means jack all in the scheme of things. You can not, and will not stop people from doing stupid things - unless you remove the control completely (cars on rails with computer control maybe?)... That said though, you can help to reduce the amount - and I do think that there should be MORE driver education (on crashes, how accidents occur, how little speed is needed to injur/kill yourself or others, how road conditions affect car handling, braking, etc etc etc) for people currently obtaining their licences, so that in the future - the roads may be safer with more responsible drivers.
  19. I'm looking to buy a clean/original Type X soon - so I was just curious what happened to the front bar, whether or not you still had it or whatever. Anyway - a question whilst I'm here- how do the rear numberplates fit with the Type X bar? Do they have to be bent/cut? (just wondering for when I get one...) Cheers and good luck with the sale =) looks like a good car with the low kms and minor mods.
  20. That is so nice mate, I would snap it up if it wasnt so far over ($10,000) my price range... =( Good luck with the sale, I've seen pics of this car on the net somewhere before - I can't remember where though... Very clean car and extremely rare and this is going below what some other people are asking for the same car with higher kms and what not.
  21. I'm curious as to why it doesnt have the type x front bar?
  22. give me a ride in the passenger seat pleeeaassseee - that way i can tag along with you from beaches > thornleigh - hehehe wouldnt mind seeing how the ceffy goes either! oh, and i'll put in for fuel moneyyyyyy!
