Normally because the stock one is physical restrictive & to avoid the AFM bottoming out in the rev range. The z32 has a wider range, which allows more airflow. As mentioned above the z32 is a straight fit to the stock intake pipe, but you will need to recalibrate the engine management & also adjust the fuel & ignition values. So its advisable that you have an aftermarket computer to run it properly. Although, you wouldnt really need one unless your planning to run over 200rwkw.

I was at Viva Garage the other day & saw these, they are exactly the same as stock but replaced with smokey silver reflector/ lenses. $895 seems a bit rich let alone $950 :looney: . You could get similar result by spraying 'night shades' ($15), it gives a black transparent tail light lens coating - not street legal though.

Coz I believe that helps with the launches & gear changes. Gear changes normally are pretty slow in the auto (approx 1 sec....zzzz). If you’re interested, currently theres a group buy for an upgraded valve body (shift kits) from M/V Automatics - highly recommended & will give the manuals a run for their money. As HR31 mentioned, do the car a favour & get yourself a high flow cat immediately!!! & if after that, given your mods, your tuner cant tune you over 170rwkw, I'd seriously look for a new one.
