If you were doing your Masters, Obstetric & Gynaecologic Sonography is interesting When I was at Uni one of the most popular BUGE courses was Heal & Touch which was basically massage/ natural therapy, unfortunately don't think they offer it anymore. I recommend and did History of Jazz which was at Magill...you just listen to music, attend the min. required days, no exam just biographies on several Jazz artists, and 10:1 girl-boy ratio for the class

I'd doubt they'd release it mid-year....if they were smart it will most likely be closer to the Xmas season plus will give more opportunity for other programmers to make their software compatible. Yeah I'll prob try it out...good thing Vista has disk-part otherwise loading this for a tri-boot would be a pain.

The timings on that Kingston Hyper X are somewhat loose (1066mhz @ 7-7-7-20)…it would be more ideal to spend a little extra (but not Corsair extra) to have CL5 timings (ie. 5-5-5-15 / 18) at that frequency. Given that you don't intend to O/C much over 3.6ghz (400x9), then 800mhz (or 1066 @ 800mhz) preferably with CL4 timings would be perfect. As long as your current memory is stable, there won’t be a big performance difference going from 4 to 2 new sticks, except slightly less stress on the memory controller and lower voltage drawn with the 2 sticks.

Sau Dinner 7pm Friday 23rd January - Watermark Hotel Glenelg
pkblade replied to *flick*'s topic in South Australia
^^ tis a fav place of weak'soz but we've already had 3 dinners/ lunches there also. Would prefer a Friday but as long as they have a bar for us *flick* put me down -
ahh..the E0 revision, makes sense now and yeah I've got the C0 stepping E8400. What's your RAM voltage set atm? Auto should be fine if you have 1066Mhz; or you might have to up the northbridge voltage a bit, as you are nearing 500fsb. Also, if you havent already checked it out the OCAU forums (Overclockers Australia) is a pretty good source for the latest product info/ reviews.

That is a great o/c and such a low v.core, most results I've seen with a 4'ish ghz (E8400) have hi 1.3X-low 1.4v.core's. So, you picked nicely from the lucky dip of CPUs, and also, the EP45-DS4P seems to be bit faster/ efficient than the EP45-DS3 series. What sort of max load CPU temps you seeing on the stress tests? Currently I have the E8400 o/c @ 4.18ghz (523x8) w/ 1.37vcore and can manage 20odd stable passes with Linpack before temps reach 70degrees but, thats with a crappy heatsink. Your total score would've been around 13,500. Think I got close to 3,600 CPU score on 3DMark06. Cinebench10 is also a good CPU benchmark test you might want to try.

If you do a proper clay, cut'n'polish & wax just once then you'll only need to spend 30min-1hr to shampoo & dry her everytime. After that maybe clay & re-apply wax every other month. Also, there's already this -> Polishes/ wax sticky thread for tips and what products others use...and sowie no I wont be your carwash partner.

I get all my anodised hose clamps from the OG Speed Shop in Klemzig.

There was about 7 of us that stayed to the end and we left at 3am. Cheers Madaz for organising...Kung Fu Panda & the r3tard had fun owning yas on COD4 .

Could ask Flick to get ya in conntact with SammyB to see if he has those items, also Grim (Ben) may still have his fog machine. I've hired lighting fx etc from -> BSS Light Audio Visual on Port Rd in the past for displays and stage shows but can be a bit pricey.

In the hope to o/c my E8400 some more (4.4Ghz+ air cooled), I've upgrade my heatsink (Xigmatek HDT-S1283) and case to a full tower (CoolerMaster HAF 932). The case is awesome...it has 3x23cm fans (or supports 7x12cm) + 14cm rear exhaust, also, for when I try my hand at water cooling latter down the track it can support 2 PSU's and 3 fan radiator + 2 fan rad + 1 fan rad =

Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay on PC...I've had the game for a couple years now and only got round loading it last night, haha.

Hope so. Have a Xmas lunch for work that day so, if I've sobered up by that time I'll be there.

R33 Automatic Acceleration Lag
pkblade replied to thurrzor's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
....aka. crank angle sensor (CAS) Go back to your mechanic and ask what he set the timing at...think the RB25DE should have a base timing of 15degrees. There's your problem there The stock auto trans are slow and do take a sec to change gears. Try having the O/D button OFF...that should help reduce your 'acceleration lag', also it will rev out higher. For quicker gear changes get an upgraded valve body/ shift kit...do search in the Group Buy section if you want more details. Also ~6K+ rpm before changing gears sounds normally if you have ya foot planted; or do you mean it will only change gears when you rev to 6K rpm? -
Most NA's have a blue GT badge, and from the sticker/ badge on the boot (GTS/ GT/ GTS4 <- although a few do a turbo conversion for this model). Also, they have a different exhaust note esp if they have an aftermarket exhaust.

Yeah, I can see more external graphic cards, hdtv tuners and wireless internet dongles on the market utilising this tech. Would be good, however, if there were faster disk drives to take advantage of the transfer rates but by then eSATA III (6Gb/s) or even IV will have been released.
-
True, they do run pretty hot on default program settings. With my MSI O/C HD4870 (780Mhz) the fans run @ 26%max and on idle will sit 60-65degrees but @ 40% I see temps drop up to 18degress. Yeah, creating and altering profiles on CCC help alot to keep things cool - I have TV (32%), gaming (42%) and benchmark mode (55%=3550rpm). Although, on the latest Catalyst version ATi have now added a manual fan controller function, making it easier to play around and change fan speeds.
-
Yeah that would keep temps in check, wish they all came out like that. Also, Palit do a dual fan card edition but, I believe the Gainward one comes with better software. In recent times the tech in GPU's has advanced somewhat quicker than what CPU's have and the CPU has generally been the bottlneck when you have mid-top of the range GPUs. From what I've read, the only benefits of the i7 cores over the C2D & C2Q for gaming is that it will namely improve multi-GPU scaling and increase fps (esp if the game is CPU bound). So really it's the CPU that is catching up to the graphics cards to help extract better performance. Doubt we'll see DDR5 RAM anytime soon, as latency timings would be somewhat an issue atm and would be taking a backwards step...like getting a PCI-E sound card
-
^^ That's a nice build...great for O/C, and tis very similar specs to mine . Somethings to be aware of is that mobo only supports Crossfire, and the HD4870 is a great card but fairly noisy when you increase the fan speeds (eg. 50% fan speed = ~40dB). Also, unfortunately atm the stock heatsinks and fan setup on the HD4000 series are more effective than aftermarket ones when it comes to cooling the ram/ mofsets.
-
...but if you do have a PC that can play the latest and more demanding games they look so much nicer on screen than what the consoles do. Also, you can connect your tv screen to most GPU's these days anyway but, don't know why I'd want to when my 24" monitor has a higher resolution thant my 46" lcd TV . +1...even have the PS2 connected to the PC via. hdtv tuner:D

Got to agree with HI2U and sensfan SP and co-op are pretty good (esp killing the waves of zombies) but MP fails, Im only a lvl 32 and still not enjoying it anymore as when I started. Gameplay isn't as smooth as COD4, majority of the WWII guns sux and the darker textures make dammn campers harder to spot. Can't wait till Infinity Ward bring out COD6 and show Treyarch how its done.

...and if only more of our fav games were compatible with Linux/ Wine

Nah, was crossing the road for Subway and yeah I saw ya wanting to try chat to him.

This arvo after work spotted at St Agnes, ImportS13 briefly alongside VSPEC (midnight purple R33 GT-R) which was sounding noicer than usual. Also, saw Kye (ImportS13) at the Ridgehaven car wash the other day.
