  1. In addition to B-Man's info on CAMS Licenses I can now issue L2S licenses to club members. You get a slip which is valid for 30 days and can use it as the license until the real one is sent out by CAMS head office in Melbourne.
  2. Ahh so that's what's behind that big pile o' dirt. 3.jpg looks like the Circus Maximus...guess there'll be plenty of chariots there too!
  3. B-Man, what about a summary of costs for the courses please.
  4. LOL, Duncan..................NO! Other non-Porsches: An M3, Dominic in his GTiR + GT-R, a PRB Clubman and a Renault Clio Sport. Schuey wrapping up his historic 6th World Championship and me taking a class win at a Motorkhana...what a great day for Motorsport! :uh-huh:
  5. main shaft seal I think it's called. Hope they can get to it by removing the radiator and not the donk. Good luck!
  6. The DBA 4000s weigh less than the standard discs and have very good heat dissipating properties. If you want a very good product for the price you can't go past them. Just shop around to get the best price as there's plenty of places out there who'll be more than happy to overcharge you.
  7. X-Trail has some issues with body roll but it sticks pretty well. There's a vague feeling in the steering when dead ahead but once it's lent over in a corner it handles well for what it is. The QR25 is a bit harsh but 132 kw from 2.5L is pretty good. I can't see them ever selling the turbo here as it would have it's own small niche and probably not be justifiable in the small Aussie market. Nissan Oz probably would market it with "GT" badges on the side anyway.
  8. 'twas a good event. I *think* I won the non Porsche category. FIGJAM! :uh-huh:
  9. [HSV guy] hmm, that's not what they told me when I bought my HSV jacket, beach towel, undies, toothbrush and bedspread....[/HSV guy]
  10. Duncan, I don't like the ones that end up with a cheesed up head when a bit of pressure is applied. It can be hard to drive them in and out if this is the case. The head needs to be hard.
  11. Stock as a rock 33 easy. eg. turn 2 Eastern Creek - 3rd gear floor it, tyres smoke, you are now sideways, feels stable and controllable just like a dirt road. Only problem is the conversion of hundreds of dollars of tyre into smoke....:uhh:
  12. My book is coming out soon: Track Day Hero - A hard core racer's diary of victory and bitter dissapointment. With Foreword by Allan Prost. Illustrations by Vargas. The synopsis: Be there following the racing endeavors of a track day hero. Share the joy of "taking" a Falcodore on the inside at the infamous Turn 2 at Eastern Creek. Feel the dissapointment at finding out the work roster clashes with a drive day. Taste the anticipation as "..group D line up on the dummy grid, group D.." is announced on the PA. Smell the perspiration in the helmet as the final lap of 10 is completed. A great read for this great racer's many fans around the globe. A must have for this years Christmas stocking.
  13. I predict a Falcodore will win! Sha-zaaa!
  14. It's still expensive for a small club like ours Duncan. Maybe AAA is what we need when CAMS gets even more expensive. Do you know if it's acceptable at E/Creek and Oran?
  15. The Bilsteins I've seen have grooves machined in them to set the desired ride height. If yours are the same type you can have them machined. The actual machining is easy.
  16. Performance is one thing, now if the Stagea looked good....:uh-huh:
  17. It's a car, hand over the keys. Not worth getting a screwdriver in the eye. If you can't afford insurance buy a staffy for the back seat and don't feed it before you go driving. :uh-huh:
  18. ? So it's NOT a Drift practise day? Good news about the L2S requirement, normally it's a C3 or higher. :uh-huh:
  19. Great stuff Mick thanks. :uh-huh: [ryan], crawl back under your rock.
  20. Good idea Duncan. We did a 12 hour and then a 6 hour down at Dapto a few years ago. My god I've never been in that much pain! I could hardly walk the day after the 12 hour. :bahaha: Still we got a 2nd in calss I think. Great fun.
  21. If anyone is coming along you'll need to go to http://www.porscheclub.org.au/compcal.htm and download and print the Competitor Registration form IN ADDITION TO the entry form. I'm *probably* attending at this stage and I'll have the license forms if you need one on the day. Oh yeah, rain is forcast. skidpan+rain=:burnout: :uh-huh: heh, as if it wasn't slippery enough anyway.....
  22. You honestly don't think they work on the cars do you? Just look at K-Mart Racing, Pedders' rally car, etc. They write the cheques and bask in the glory, that's what sponsorship is all about. :uh-huh:
  23. They stop the oil "sloshing" around in the sump during high cornering loads and minimise the chance of the oil pickup sucking air. Do a search for "sbs".
