  1. Ugly engine???? Things must have changed at Alfa. I used to spend ALOT of time looking at my Alfa engine....it was a bastard but I don't remember it being ugly. :bahaha:
  2. Like any of the chain stores these days service and knowledge have been disposed of. It's obviously too expensive to employ people who know what they are talking about and stock quality products. A good example is any large hardware store. When was the last time you saw good quality screws and fasteners instead of that crap stuff? Or had someone on hand who actually knew about the product they are selling? The auto parts chains are the same as the hardware chains (common parent companies probably). You may as well go to K-mart, Big W, etc. At least you can combine all your inadequate advice experiences under the one roof.
  3. As of tomorrow I will be able to issue CAMS L2S licenses. See the Motorkhana thread.
  4. i.e., an interim license issued "on the spot" that is used until Melbourne processes and sends out the license.
  5. There's a 50% chance I'll attend this one. If any Club members need a CAMS licence I'll be able to issue them as of tomorrow. Post here if you're interested.
  6. I'll be working so can't attend.
  7. Don't forget to budget ~$400 for decent pads.
  8. heh, oh and the X-Trail of course too....
  9. Outback is another one worth considering Prank. Just a little bit more room than the Forester. But bang for buck the XT would be the go. :uh-huh:
  10. The Porsche Club of NSW is holding a Supersprint on saturday 18/10/03 at Eastern Creek. They have spaces available if you are interested. Requirements: Go to this link. You will need a CAMS L2S license as a minimum. Also things like; Fire extinguisher (noy more than 3 years old), A blue triangle stuck on the car where the battery is, Bonnet tie downs, etc. Click here for the Entry Form. More info to come as I find it out.
  11. The Porsche Club of NSW is holding a Motorkhana on the skid pan this sunday. They have spaces available if you are interested. Requirements: Go to this link. You will need a CAMS L2S license as a minimum. Click here for the Entry Form. That's all the details I have for the moment.
  12. Thread closed. You guys need to sort out some issues.
  13. geez get over it...just do a conversion in your head....
  14. afaik no companies offer Thrid party, Fire and Theft in NSW.
  15. Brendan, the GT-R upgrade may be the one to go for using the following formula: bang for buck/hard road use*, where *=no. of track days otherwise, the DBA 4000s with Ferodo DS2500 or Pagid pads (as recommended by DBA) and good quality and condition brake fluid and braided lines may be fine. I tend to agree with Roy, consistency is as important as outright stopping power.
  16. ...and be 16
  17. [mutley voice] snuckenfrukenrusslleruffn[/mutley] t3h roster gods r t3h sU><0rs....
  18. But you would think the ugly blokes in suits would know their stuff.....
  19. Thread closed, see thread in Oz's post above.
  20. Do a search for "DBA group buy", it's all there. If you are a NSW Club member there's details about the discounts in the NSW Members section.
  21. Hi FLIP, I just saw this thread or I would have replied sooner. Go to East Coast Suspension at Kirrawee. Dave really knows his stuff and will tell it to you staright. Bit of a hike there, but probably worth it. http://www.eastcoastsuspensions.com.au/ecs-index.html
  22. If we were going to do a Club day at the skidpan we would need a Clerk of the Course etc. As it's an event where the cars are in motion CAMS require supp. regs and officials (unlike the Concours). From memory the skid pan is $1500 for the whole day, $750 for 1/2 day. So if Dave is charging $2000 it's not too bad a deal I guess.
  23. Every time you look at the cam cover the question of the milipede will bug you. *boomtish*
  24. /me chips in 5 bucks for the "buy B-Man a tinted visor appeal".
  25. yeah sure...what should I do? a P76 with 32 afterburners? :bahaha:
