  1. Hi peeps, just thought I'd throw in my $0.02. I was part of the team that set up the NSW club. We decided early on that what we wanted was a fully fledged club that included social, competition, non-competition, training, etc., events. To do any of these you need insurance and CAMS is very cost effective insurance. For the competition events you also need licenses, so CAMS once again was necessary. There is also the benefit of having your PLI for club meetings (i.e. monthly meetings, social nights etc.) included in the annual fee (no extra cost). As it stands today cruises, or any time the club organises a drive, require PLI. Seems crazy I know but we live in strange times. CAMS is seeking clarification on this with their insurers, but don't hold your breath. Now to get CAMS affiliation you need to jump through a few hoops. Getting approval from Nissan Oz to use the Skyline name is one thing, writing the Club Rules and Constitution is another. Look through some other clubs' rules and pick out what you want. CAMS supply a basic framework which I built on for the NSW Rules. Cut and paste ours if you like. Just make sure they suit YOU is the main thing. Good Luck and see you at the Skyline Nationals in 200X.
  2. For the first year we decided that all memberships will expire on 30/6/2004 for anyone joining up until 30/6/2003. Then it's 12 months from date of joining.
  3. rofl! you mean cyalume light sticks??? :bahaha: fully sik campervan bro!
  4. For the taping of headlights, I'll be using clear contact sheet cut to the shape of the headlights. For this event with a drive between the hillclimb and the sprint it'll save pulling the tape off and doing it again.
  5. :bahaha: Would everyone please take the time to read the first post and follow the links to the CAMS website. Also read the questions Duncan asked and my answers. (In a nutshell, you apply to CAMS for the license)

  7. afaik, Borat is able to join and compete in events... ...and he's Kazakhstani!
  8. They are just sorting out some details. It should only be a couple of days and the regs. and entry forms will be out. Go here for the Safety Requirements. These are a bit tighter than the drive day standards and scrutineering is more in depth.
  9. Do you want me to say it again? :uhh:
  10. You would be more than welcome Tom, long way to come for the meetings though...... Oh and you get a sticker when you join.
  11. As I said Skylines Australia NSW only....
  12. Because the club has nothing to do with them (on an organisational level).
  13. Skylines Australia NSW ONLY! It has nothing to do with any of the other states or www.skylinesaustralia.com.
  14. re. the question of showing we are a CAMS affiliated club when signing on for an event. The word is that no, it's not a requirement to have the logo on the card, however in our case being a new club it may be a good idea. Therefore, we will add the CAMS logo to the membership cards. If you have a card without the logo i wouldn't stress too much. We'll be in contact with any of the clubs organising the events we attend as a club so they should be aware. If you are planning on going along on your own I'd make sure they know before hand. ps. oh, thanks for the kind words guys
  15. This sounds like a great event. I believe Dan mentioned it at the meeting on sunday. All the information I have for the moment can be found on page 7 of the CAMS Tale Spin newsletter here. I intend to do the Saturday events and then cruise back, missing the dinner. I'll post more when it becomes available. Who's keen? ps. We'll all need Level 2S licenses or higher for these events.
