rofl in ur dreams Tosh :bahaha:
  3. A written test is a simple way to see whether someone has absorbed information...which is the goal of education. Used in conjunction with a practical test it's an effective assesmant tool.
  4. err that would be Dino
  5. The AAMI scheme sounds like a step in the right direction. What we need is a system that covers all driving conditions (within reason) and an extensive education syllabus. A major cause of accidents is the attitude of the driver. If drivers can be educated as to what appropriate behaviour is then there would be less accidents. Combined with higher standards of driving skill would have to yield favourable results. I am all for a thorough tightening up of the testing system in conjunction with a comprehensive training course. Instead of one test, a series of "milestones" would need to be passed before the final test. The practical aspect combined with compulsory lectures and written tests would give a solid foundation to go out into the real world and continue to improve driving skills. The theory component could be included as part of school studies as an elective subject. A retesting system should also be introduced where everyone who wishes to continue with the privilege of holding a license must be re certified. Make it every 3 or 4 years. You get a notice and have 6 months to do the test. It'll never happen, however, because the state governments are addicted to the income from speeding fines and would fear the voter backlash if they introduced such a sensible scheme. Maybe with the Deputy Prime Minister John Anderson now speaking up against the relentless pursuit of speeding as the cause of accidents there will be some progress towards a sensible approach to reducing the road toll. Time will tell. You know it makes sense.

There's a great course in Frenchs Forest I know of... :shake: just beware...I shot 66 at Chatswood the other day... ...on the front 9...
  7. Dan, once again you have succinctly summed it up.
  8. ok so next time when nobody else has organised a meeting place and there's 3 days to go I'll drive to (what is regarded as the geographical centre of Sydney these days?) Bankstown? Parramatta? and scout around for a meeting place that suits everyone and we'll have it at a time that suits everyone and everyone will turn up because they won't have anything else on and there will be no excuses. No, considering over 3 weeks notice was given I don't think it was a "silly" location to hold the meeting. Granted the location was only finalised at the last minute. Remote? It's on one of the major arterial roads and we are a car club... Having met and chatted to you a few times akira I'm surprised at your attitude, even taking digging into account... /rant
  9. You didn't answer my question... :eyebrow raised:
  10. Just to clarify something...akira you are being sarcastic right?
  11. Retail is: R33 Front DBA 4963 $297.00/Disc Rear DBA 4908 $250/Disc R32 Front DBA 4909 $250/Disc So on the 33 fronts you will save $88.00 per disc! A saving of $176 for the fronts, or $275.60 for front and rear. DBA have given Gavsport a great deal on these as well so you won't do better if you can get "trade" elsewhere. Who's in?
  12. Present Executive Committee re-elected. Two new positions were created. Membership: carlo Marketing: ndr Pretty poor turnout. 6 members (not including the Committee) and 4 guests.
  13. I will be proposing this at the meeting to facilitate the process. FYI it needs a 2/3 majority to be passed. 8.3 Paragraphs 8.1 and 8.2 notwithstanding, for the 2003 Annual General Meeting an exception shall be made that nominations for all Executive Committee positions shall be accepted at the meeting. Voting shall be by a show of hands. Each financial member shall be entitled to one vote for each position. If anyone has any comments please go ahead.
  14. Would have to be Roy. Too many hoops to jump through to get rego otherwise. Roll it on to a C5 and roll off at Richmond.
  15. In keeping with the spirit of this project no new products should be used. fatz you can have all my old oil, etc. It'd be better than the stuff you get in franklins.

  17. yeah the last one was huge. I don't know if it could be surpassed in it's...in it's..what's the word? All 3 of us had fun...
  18. do they suit a 33? ie. offsets, stud pattern
  19. Thanks for the kind words guys. I accept. My vision for the club is to be half as popular as the RX-7 guys are. Every suburb you drive through has a sign saying where and when the Rotary club meets. It's funny...because you don't see that many of them on the roads.
  20. did you guys see the attached map? It's pretty easy, come up Warringah rd cross over the Roseville bridge, continue on for a couple of ks, turn left just before the KFC/Taco bell and left again, 500m on the left.
  21. I reckon your enthusiam would be a great asset as VP carlo. I nominate carlo for Vice pres.
  22. forest wood fired pizza but I'm getting takeaway Blitz and SW20-GT will probably be sitting in Andronicus all night waiting for their order to turn up.
  23. there's a pretty good chance I'll be cruising to the local purveyor of fine pizzas but that's it
  24. oh I forgot the other non-executive position of CAMS Delegate is held by yours truly.
