  1. Pretty much people telling me how wrong i am, even when i follow other logical advice ._.
  2. Have faith in Japanese muscle!
  3. For the third time, money WILL be spent at the shop, i'm just waiting for my booking. This post makes me .
  4. i very strongly agree with you after learning more about jap cars. Learn from my mistakes i guess
  5. Yeah, just found out it wasn't my turbo blown, just that joiner has become very loose, loosing boost. i used one of my proper clamps from the new kit and it's back up to it's usual power and noises. I just have to granny it around now because i don't have a failsafe for overboost D:
  6. Yeah they seemed like nice guys Intercooler pipe has a bead, but it's got a shit joiner clamped with a radiator hose. i have new intercooler pipes ready and waiting with ribs on the ends and silicon joiners
  7. If you tune a pig with shitty parts, it's going to be a fast pig. Parts needed to be replaced, and since they don't regenerate i had to pay for them. As i just said twice, i can't f**king tune it when all the shops are booked out, but i'm waiting in line.... can't do much besides wait, so whats your problem?
  8. Without money for a tune, tuning is out of the question. Still questioning my friends diagnosis of a blown turbo... there is a change in the whistle, but it's a very small change and it still spins without any clunking. Could still potentially be a vacuum leak or seals dead. Regardless of that, since powercruise is just around the corner where do you suggest i tune my car with all the tuners in perth (c-red,pcp, japwreck, allstars, ovaboost etc) busy till late october? (I've been to every tuning garage in Perth finding the cheapest quotes.)
  9. Well, You nailed it brother. Costs more than what it was worth, and a headache and a half. Being straight up, i had no idea what to look out for when buying a car, i checked for oil leaks, service history and all panels were straight and working. The big turbo kinda suckered me in, plus the engine was literally just put back together after being machined. Also, i didn't really think it was a big modification and if necessary i had money at the time to deal with a fix if it was required.
  10. Not blaming the turbo haha, the plan to go back to stock was so i could thrash the rb with a safe tune. Try NOT driving like a dickhead when it's your first skyline and theres meat on the tyres x]
  11. UPDATE: just blew the old turbo, defiantly rejoicing over my decision to buy stock turbo. Glad i didn't throw on fuel rails and try to tune that setup, like some suggested haha. Question: can i limp a blown turbo around if i stay off boost for a week?(no smoke yet)
  12. i've had 2 people from jap car clubs to come have a look at it, and i've taken it to various performance shops recommended by others.
  13. i'll post pictures of the build as i go, do i need to start another topic :s?
  14. i'm listening to a lot of information. I came into this thread without knowing any of the fuctions of the parts i had, now i know exactly what they do and exactly what i need to achive the build. i apreciate all comments negative or positive
  15. ^ for some reason it wont let me edit my old post.
  16. Sorry, couldn't get a good look at the object as it was under my manifolds and i'm new to turbos/ wastegates, it looked totally different to the stock one. thank you for the information, it was very helpful. i might take everything i have into a shop and see what they can do. Heres a video on how it runs for anyone that's intrested: [uploading]
  17. My pipingis old and rusty, the joiners are stretched and the hose clamps arn't on straight. Don't underestimate on how shit a job can be completed!
  18. Just mock fitting a few parts so i can get the general idea and i've noticed i don't have bolts from the dump pipe to the turbo or the turbo to the90 degree manifold, does anyone know where i can get them? i found a blow off valve hiding under the exhaust manifold is it worth using? also need to know what part that belongs betwen the throttle body and the intercooler piping, or can i cheat and use a silicon 90 degree bend?
  19. right now i'm sure 50% of the pipes cause a vacum leak as they're barley held together with radiator clamps, which is why i have the new intercooler+ kit for the piping + silicon joiners and proper clamps, i'm pretty sure i could install the new intercooler and half the piping right now. It's just i want to make sure i have the parts for the stock turbo before i take it all apart and need to know where things were supposed to be so i can figure out everything that's been modified on my bay for the install.
  20. have a permit for BOV, front mount and pod filter, althought right now i have a 3" straight pipe. Believe me man, if i could bolt that split dump i have to the straight pipe and be done i would, but i'm not sure if they'll fit as the dump looks 2"-2.5"
  21. pretty much dude, i bought a dump pipe that i'm not sure will bolt on to the exhaust, as it's 3" all the way through right now But i've seen stock exhausts on gumtree for 100 bucks so it's drivable
  22. I don't have 2 grand, my budget died after buying the stock parts, i'm in this build now. I'm hoping to learn how to build this car properly so i know it inside and out as the rb25 was freshly rebuilt, if i can build back to stock, oposed to upgrade the car will last a lot longer spending alot less money. Note: i'm not in it for the horsepower, just a safe running car that has very clean new stock parts.
  23. which oil line? the turbo gravity feed? or engine oil? i want to replace the majority of the pipes, i just need to know the important ones to change over
