  10. Some friends of mine had the same thing happen. They went back to BMW/Mini and demanded that their car be fixed. They hounded and hounded them and they finaly agreed to replace it. However, it was not a free replacement. They had to pay $1200 for labour. Get her to mention that she is a female (obviously) driver, mention the car is 5 years old, careful driver etc.... It's a design fault with the gearboxes themselves. The early model one have this issue, with the later models not suffering this problem. I'd also check the wheel studs, as they shear off also. My friends mini has had 4 replaced. 3 on the front right and 1 on the front left.
  11. cool. thanks for your advice Dave. Much appreciated.
  12. my old car I rolled the guards with 3 generously proportioned mates and a peice of steam pipe jammed between the wheel and the guard. I drove backwards and forwards. It worked a treat! However, the paint was a little worse for wear. Thanks for the info on pumping the gurad out 5mm. My guess is that it shouldn't need paint afterwards for such a small increase??
  13. Above looks nice. 1" flair is huge. I'm guessing you had t orepaint that afterwards? I'm looking at bringing a guard out by 5mm to cover some bigger rims. I'd rather a pumped look rather than a fine edge lip. Is this possible?? I'm guessing it should be as it's only 5mm...
  14. Last minute trip to Hobart. I touch down in Melb at 6pm, so should still be there.....
  15. I'll be there.
  16. Good old Caribbean Gardens should have the goods you require....
  17. Well what a great night! It was fantastic to see so many new members out and about, with a great turn out with over 25 cars! Congrats to everyone for behaving through the evening. Big thanks to Wayne for organising the cruise and doing the front man thing. There were a few of us (7 cars at my count) who went the wrong way as the car infront couldn't decide which way to go from the round about/didn't listen to Waynes directions......Maybe next time we have some cruise notes??? But nevermind, our way was a heap more fun! I saw a few cameras out, so who's got pics they want to share??
  18. That particular car didn't like being started after sitting in the paddock after a few laps either. As soon as it started, it was puffing a cloud of oil smoke out it's rear for a good 10-15 seconds before it cleared up.

    Tuning Your Car

I believe the LM-01 has the ability to simulate narrow band outputs. You could do that. However, Most wide band do not like excessive heat, unlike their narrow band brothers, and can foul up easily. I would suggest that you weld in a second O2 bung midway between the turbo and the cat. This way you will not get incorrect readings from the sensor getting too hot, and falling out of calibration, nor will you get a delayed readout from having a sniffer tube up the exhaust pipe. Recalibration of the wideband sensors can be done by yourself, but it is time consuming. They are something that you use for tuning, etc and remove as the sensors can be damaged if they are used continually like the narrowbands. Hope that helps.
  23. I have a 32 rear housing also. I'm located in Melb. PM me if you want it.
  24. You can use an R33 housing. It will fit, however the AR is greater. I have a turbo here.
  25. Dave, You have PM.
