I keep reading "you can get an 89 gtr for 20k". Where? Having been to Japan in the last few months and helped purchase 2 such cars I know what they are going for and they won't be anywhere near 20k!!! What are these cars, grade 0 or what? Good GTR's in Japan bring GOOD money. Grade 4 cars are not going to be anywhere near 20k. And as for all this talk of depreciation. Have I missed something here? Cars devalue!!!! Get over it!! If you want to "invest" in something I can think of a few things before Japanese cars, and I don't need some fancy economics chart to know that!!!!!

I hear what you say about the 'team" behind the driver and obviously that plays a big hand in getting the thing to go quickly. But out of interest take a look at qualifying for tonights race. Raikkonen ahead of Coulthard (again) and Webber .3 behind Pizzonia in a far superior car, evidenced by the fact that his "teammate" Montoya is on the front row!!!! Now with all the bull**** surrounding qualifying these days draw from that what you will, thanks again Mr Mosley( can't wait for him to piss off and go and read a book on a beach somewhere). But I think that Pizzonia and Webber tonight may something to prove. So hopefully there might be some fireworks at the start!!!!!!

Once again the powers that be( mr mosley etc) are playing at the edges trying to make the racing more interesting on the one hand and slow them down on the other? Why do we have pitstops? Because the powers that be (mr mosley etc) thought that would slow them down? why do we have grooved tyres? Because the powers that be etc etc. If they were serious about slowing the cars down they would just fit them with 10000 rpm limiters and 10to 1 comp, ban tyre and fuel stops and limit testing to a week before the season started. but they won't do that because they are in the business of LOOKING like they are trying to make the racing more interesting and slowing the cars down. Would we all be whingeing if M.Webber was winning all the time in a red car? MMMMMMMM

Let's face it David Coulthard never had or will ever have the ability to win a championship. He has only ever driven Williams and McLaren and has won i think ( correct me if I'm wrong 6 Grandprix) Kimi Raikkonen has won more Grandprix finished second in the championship and started driving granprix cars after only 23 car races EVER !!!!!! Coulthard got where he got because of one thing. MONEY. His family own the largest transport company in the British Isles. He always had the best equipment and the resources to run it properly. He has been FLOGGED by Raikkonen for the last two years. If there is any justice in the world Coulthard will be driving his lawnmower next year with an outing at Le Mans the only competitive outing. Ppl have said that he will go to Jaguar. I don't think David Pitchforth is that stupid. One guy that has hardly been mentioned and who I think has a good chance of replacing Webber at Jaguar is Justin Wilson. He proved as quick as Pizzonia ( the most overrated driver in F1) and really didn't get a fair run first time around. All I know is that Webber ( read Briatore) turned down $22 mil to drive Toyota. You don't do that unless you have a fair idea where your going and how much you are going to get paid!!!!!!!

Race seat (not sure what brand) and Willans harness. Seat is black harness is blue both in perfect condition, was going to put in club car but are too old for CAMS use but would be fine for street or drag racing etc. $350 the pair. PM if interested.

it is obvious from the terminal speed that the car is severely undertyred. I used to regularly run a car that ran 10.2 at the same terminal with virtually no tyre slippage. sixty foot is pretty ordinary too.

Dont have a digi camera yet. It is perfect except for the crack in the windscreen.

Is there a difference between 86 and 90 models. mine is a 86 would be interested if they fit. does the car ride like a billy cart with them in or is it still ok for the street?

If you just need the headlight try Steve's spares in struggletown. He has lots of bits for 31's and he will haggle especially for cash.

generally the "strength" of any component is less important than the manner in which it is used. If the question is can I multiply the power of the engine threefold, sidestep the clutch at 4,500 rpm and then flat change it through the cogs and have it survive the answer is NO. But if you are mechanically sympathetic and have some clues on advanced driving techniques that minimise damage to the more highly stressed drivetrain and the box was in good working order initially then the answer is probably YES.

get an r31 as a daily driver their cheap bulletproof and hey your still a skyline driver!!!!!

This might sound dumb but have you checked the oil level. It would not be the first time a mechanic has forgotten to put oil in it.

For anyone interested I went to the holding yard for the Nissan museum in Tokyo in February. With over 500 Nissans all shapes and sizes and yes many, many Skylines, even the original Prince Skyline GT. R33 LM. Ozzie dr30 and many factory Nissan race cars from the sixties to the present day. My friend and I were shown through by the chief of Nismo Japan. The museum is currently under construction to house all the cars that will be open to the public sometime next year I believe. Anyone interested in some pics let me know as I used ten rolls of film in the warehouse in about two hours. They even has a rusty 120y. The cars are all in the condition in which they finished the race. The 240z that won the East African safari in 1972 i think is there but has no front guards as they hit an anteater on the last day and they got torn off!!!!! Sure do build Nissans tuff!!!!
