  1. Slidnreds13: Not for a cheaper price. I am currently awaiting a deposit on the G/Box. Motor is still available. Few interested buyers. Cheers, David
  2. Location is in SA if you hadn't noticed in my profile. Cheers, David
  3. Kyle: I do have a clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. PM me for details or further information. $200 for gearbox and clutch BTW. Unless I find out the clutch is something of considerable value.
  4. Items: 1. 1993 R32 RB20DET OEM Motor (Short) 2. 1993 R32 RB20DET OEM 5 Speed Manual G/Box & Clutch Item Condition: 1. Motor has standard internals and is in VERY GOOD condition. Regular servicing (5000 kM oil/filter change, yearly water change etc.). Has been relatively standard all its life until 2007 where it made 170 RWkW on the standard turbo. All that is required is a quick clean. Hydraulic lifters RARELY click on start up (if you leave the car for a week or two and start the car they will tick for about 1 second until the head sees oil pressure/flow). Comes as a short motor i.e. intake/exhaust manifolds and related parts (associated piping/tubes), ancillaries (a/c, p/s etc.) are NOT INCLUDED. Included is the OEM turbo. If you need further clarification with what comes with this please either contact me or Google what a "short motor" includes. 2. Gearbox is a standard OEM 5 Speed manual from an RB20DET. No noises. No crunches. VERY GOOD condition. Oil changed with Castrol oil (Sydneykid's thread in Drivetrain section of this forum) every 20,000 kM. Comes with a Heavy duty clutch (unknown brand and type etc. until I pull it out in a week or two). Clutch has never slipped. Condition of this part will be know once I have removed them from the car. Extra Info: Items will be removed from the car in the coming weeks. More info will be updated as it becomes available as to the condition and type of parts removed. I will accept deposits. I MAY separate parts. However, this will depend on several circumstances. Contact Details: e-mail: [email protected] mobile: 0401 317 009 PM me if required Price and price conditions: 1. $500 ONO Will ship at buyers expense 2. $200 ONO Will ship at buyers expense OR $600 ONO as a package deal. Will ship at buyers expense.

  6. You sure bout that rolls? I remember seeing something in the RB30 build PDF giving specs and they looked different... Ill go download it and find out... EDIT: Cam duration and lift is the same...Lobe centre angles are different. David
  7. 1. Turbos and brake/clutch master cylinders over the same side of the engine for the RHD edition - results in boiled fluid if the car is pushed for a decent length of time Irrelevant of whether this occurs to owner xxx, it is a poor design for the RHD market. 2. Intercooler heat soak
  8. R33 Auto G/Box Price: free to a good home PM or SMS 0401 317 009 Cheers, David
  9. Paid approx 20-30 dollars per M6/COM5 Sphericals on a racecar I helped build last year (FSAE Vehicle)...and they were from Aurora or SKF from memory... Dunno must be a "special" type of spherical...
  10. Jesus...Thats bloody criminal at that price. Either way, good luck to finding the solution to this issue. Cheers, David
  11. Sounds about right. Either way, unless the bearing (when taken out of the shock like you had it in the picture before) has free play in it, then I dont think the knock will be as a result of the bearing. Id be inlined to check the retaining "top hat" or surrounding fasteners/locators. Cheers, David+
  12. Step one: Open PDF I have attached. Step Two: Get dimensions I have outlined in red Step Three: Go to http://www.skf.com/skf/productcatalogue/jsp/extra/menuProductTables.jsp?link2=3_1_10a&maincatalogue=1〈=en OR Althernatively go to your local CBC and get them to find you the bearing equivelent to this one you have removed Step four: Either install (press this bearing into its original position) yourself, or take it to a mechanic who can Step Five: Enjoy Cheers Minimum bearing dimensions to determine part #.pdf
  13. Z32 still available? I txted you the other day but you didnt reply
  14. Hi It says you cannot recieve any messages. Interested in Z32AFM Does this item come with connector/plug? Would you post to SA 5064? PM me or email on [email protected] Cheers
  15. Hi mate, Im after the speedo sensor you have with your 33 GBox Will you separate? Condition? Price? Cheers PS: Your inbox is full I believe as you cannot receive any messages
  16. just quietly, this is a bargain... Only head that can be used on an RB30DET in a 32 gtst without having to change wiring etc. Bought mine for $800 a year or so ago. Wish I hadnt bought mine now, and snapped this one up! RARE AS!
  17. PM sent
  18. From what I can tell, Sydneykid no longer operates regularly on these forums. Hence all the rates which have been asked have been left unanswered. Using the engineering text books I have and used to build racecar suspension, I can calculate you rates. If you need a quick answer, just send me a PM and Ill plug it into my spreadsheet and give you an answer as quick as possible. For example: Dan J Using the inputs you gave me the spring rate is 7.08 kg/mm or 396.5 lb/in Cheers, David
  19. I also have been told 1:1... However, I highly doubt each axle would be exactly 1:1 tho...even a small change of say 0.05 (+ or -) would be enough to cause a significant increase or decrease in wheel rate Cheers David
  20. hahah notice a mistake with the KPI...KPI affects the steer-camber characteristics of the car. That is, how turning the steering wheel causes the wheel to gain or lose camber. Its reasonably in depth, but overall the thing to keep in mind is that increasing KPI (more positive KPI) will cause both the wheels to gain greater amount of positive camber. Positive camber will help the inside tyre generate grip, whilst decreasing the grip generated by the outside. In terms of bump steer, although I said that I couldnt see how it would cause greater amounts, I would only really know the answer when I would install the LCA. If Sydneykid has said it will cause bumpsteer...BELIEVE IT. He is a wealth of knowledge with more experience than 99.99% of members on this forum. If he has warned against them, dont use them if I were you.
  21. Have not played around with this on road cars, however the same principles apply to the Formula SAE vehicles I have worked on. Essentially, the goal to maximizing the potential of the tyres to generate grip is to equally load (vertically) each tyre. In racing, the aim is to run as wider track as practically possible (or as the rules allow) in order to minimise weight transfer during cornering (known as lateral load transfer). This ensures that each tyre is evenly laden. In essence, what you are changing will generate more grip on that SPECIFIC axle, and hence will cause oversteer (if anything). Since it is the front, the tendency will be for the front to generate more grip. However, the change you are talking about (less than 30mm overall due to the inclination of the lower control arm) is small (30/1460 = 2.1% change in track) and I doubt a hugely noticeable effect will be felt. You could also achieve the same track change from running more negative offset in your rims (-15 less than what your current setup is). The more noticeable effect will be the additional camber which is achievable which will help to generate heat in the tyre faster, whilst also providing more lateral force due to camber thrust. Alternatively, this will obviously wear tyres quicker aswell as well as potentially overheating the tyres (depending on how much negative camber you run). You will also increase your King Pin Inclination (KPI), which will increase the amount of positive camber that will occur during any steering/cornering manoeuver. This is good for generating grip on the inside tyre, but detrimental for the outside tyre. Another problem is that KPI increases the 'jacking' forces seen during cornering, which generally cause the inside rear (and even front in some racing vehicles) to unload and in some cases lift of the ground. This is bad for utilising your tyres evenly. As Roy stated, you may also end up with bump steer, although Im not entirely sure this would occur as you are simply increasing the length of the bottom pivot, rather than changing the angle it generates with the ground. Take all this with a grain of salt so to speak... If I were you, and your simply after camber, just get a good set of adjustable upper arms and be done with it. Cheers, David
