  5. running no thermostat can acutally damage your engine aswell as your engine will be too cold, and hence oil flow/viscocity will be affected. Buy a new one or leave the one thats in there in.
  6. nothing beats cubes (cubic capacity), but in this case your talking about a new car vs an aged car. S15 will have less mechanical problems and little shit wrong with it than the skyline. R34 GTT tho is another option. If i were u i would broaden your search and look at different cars for similar pricing and also think about your needs now, and in the future.
  7. iv been told the same thing with the VG30 comps. They are the way to go with for the 25 apparently if ur doing it cheap. Otherwise a PFC is the obvious other choice but with the lack of them going round anymore...
  8. Just wondering with R32GTR seats, do they fit in a 32Gts-T? As in like whats the go with the rails and other such things. Is it an easy changover with the stock ones? Anyone else done this before? Cheers David
  9. well i was under the car (AGAIN) today and figured whilst i was doing the control arm bushes (grease gunning), that id put a little bit in the boot for the slave...did help a bit but rite at the end of the throw of the slave it has the smallest creek. Guess this is as good as it will get unless i pull her apart.
  10. yeh after some research i found this out. Main way to go is with teh 25DE runners with the 20 plenum. Not that hard but...Good luck with it all mate.
  11. righto... is anyone as confused as me about what this guy is talking about with fuel pressure?! You obviously meant oil pressure. your oil you are using is probably a bit thick on cold nissan quote a 7.5W/30 i think from memory, so you are well above this. Try somehting like a 5W/40 or possibly a 10W/50 from what ive tried they are both fine and do the job well. Make sure they are fully synthetic aswell. Whether its the problem to do with the oil...i doubt it but changing your oil wouldnt hurt you in this case. Dont go by teh stock oil pressure guage either, they are prone to irregular/incorrect readings depending on the age of the car/sensor. Chances are you've got a vaccum leak somewhere, or something along those lines and this is causing your idling cold start issue. Try using the Search feature and look for idling issues and im sure you will find something that will help you out. Have fun David
  12. Chances are its one or mmany of ur wishbone/control arm bushes. They get old and begin to creek as there is not enough lube in the bush or they have just gotten so old that they have perished. If they are aftermarket nolathane type bushes in there then it will be caused from lack of lube (i highly doubt aftermarket ones would have perished already). On my whiteline ones, there is a grease nipple where u can put a grease gun on and lube them up, but this may not be the case in your situation. If so then it looks like u will have to remove the bushes and relube them. Good luck David

  15. 3K without the greddy plenum, without clutch, without loom
  16. Items: RB30E or RB25DE (R32) Extra Info: 30E can be everything bar the head, and the 25DE can be all the provisions for the head. Contact Details: 0401 317 009 or [email protected] or PM me Price and price conditions: Cheap as possible. Must be all in working order (i.e. not from a blown motor or sick motor)
  17. i doubt it, as its as u are depressing the clutch which leads me to think its a linkage problem as its moving rather than when it is in or out. You never know tho.
  18. An SR is not all alloy. Its a cast iron block hence why it is so heavy and why an all alloy v6 can weigh similar.
  19. one of two things im guessing... a) slave cylinder yoke is squeeking at the top or bottom (like mine) b) slave cylinder piston is squeeking. both require oiling/lubing of the joint there but a) is almost impossible if its at the top as the oil drips out or u physically cant get to the joint as its in the clutch housing. good luck fixing it, its caused me grief so far!
  20. This is the most helpful thing (in a general sense) which will answer most of ur basic questions. Any more specifics, just hit the RB30 conversion thread which has been stickied at the top of the forced induction thread. rb30_dohc.zip.pdf
