Creeking Slave Cylinder!
R32Abuser replied to R32Abuser's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Nah definately the slave...ive been under the car and had someone depress the pedal and its definately the yoke on the slave making the noise. Cheers for the input tho, any other ideas anyone? -
R32 Gtr Gearbox And Diff Oil Change Were To Start?
R32Abuser replied to mralbino's topic in General Maintenance
Mate use the search function, youd be amazed at how it helps. this will help with oils to use, how much etc etc [ http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Di...Oil-t11443.html] and this is generally how to change them but this is on a gts-t gearbox http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R32-Changing-Gearbox-Oil-t30665.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ge...hange-t631.html and the diff i couldnt find too much, however its almost identical to gearbox bar the oil u use and how much. Filler hole should be somewhere around the top of the diff, and the drain plug somewhere near the bottom (gravity works well to drain the oil) haha. This is ONLY for the rear diff however. Im unsure on the front diff on yours as i do not own a gtr nor have changed the front diff oil in one. But i couldnt imagine it being too much different to the rear. Hope this helps -
for regency i just unplugged it from teh loom. and then hid the cables up near the steering column underneath the plastic (as mine was located near the steering column). At worst, just do this and leave the loom in. Then you can plug it in whenever you want. I moved mine to the glovebox along with my boost controller so they werent obvious in the even i get pulled over.

Ok my problem is that everytime i put my foot on the clutch to take of or change gears, there is a creek/squeek from beneath my car. Now i know it is my slave cylinder as i have had it up on jacks, lubed it up with oil inside the boot (not too much as i dont want to get any oil inside the gearbox/bellhousing) and even minutely sprayed a bit of bearing lube in there to try and get it up as high as i can to lube the yoke arm. But nothing seems to be working. The noise will go away for a few days, but then will come back generally right at the very end of teh pedal throw to begin with. Has anyone else experienced this, if so, how have you gone about or think i should do about lubing this problem. How do nissan perform tasks like this. My last resort will be to pull the slave cylinder off and physically lube all the parts up myself with grease. But i prefer not to as this will be a large pain in the arse. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, David

ROFL!

Yeh, theres not much to it tho. Although we get more attention than other performance cars, its the price we pay for buying these cars. At the end of the day, the owner has to weigh up whether it is worth having the car for the trouble it causes with the boys in blue. Iv decided its worth it, and have copped everything i have gotten from them on the chin. Defected once and pulled over probbaly 5-6 times now in 4 yrs. Its teh people who go to the bay/hindley st and get defected who really f**k me off. Dont want to get defected or picked on by the cops, stay away from teh areas which attract the most attention (i.e. the areas mentioned above). If you bought ur car purely for the attention it gets from other people, then your driving the wrong car. End Rant...

u buy a performance car...u modify it illegaly...u get defected. Cop it sweet. Its the price u pay for having this sort of car. Dont like it? Sell your car then.
-
Do it in the outback...then mayb u wont get caught!!
-
At the end of the day, u were a dick, u got caught...nothing more to it. What counts is that you cop your fine/suspension on the chin, stick to it, and learn your lesson, its not the fact that u made the mistake, its whether you learn from it. I dont deny i have given the odd squirt, but 260 is in no way a squirt. You were going for a max speed, fair enough. But do it somewhere else mate i dont care where, just further away from the city or on a track.

Jiminy Cricket Lives Under My Bonnet
R32Abuser replied to puke22's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Iv heard the same. When u release the clutch, and the noise is there its the thrust bearing (or throw out bearing). -
Upgrade To 34 Or Spend ~10grand On Current 33
R32Abuser replied to TEKNO KRAZY's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Get the 34...newer car, less wear and tear, and better looking imo. Dont get me wrong id say sell the 33 put 10g towards a 32gtr, but then u get the headaches of mechanical wear on the car due to the age. 34 gtt comes out the best i think. good luck tho. -
lol what a contrast ^^^^^

Id come, but im pretty sure my car wouldnt last too long. All things considered, i have no monitoring systems (bar stock items), and i have no doubt id blow my turbo at the very least. But id definately come out for a look.
-
Most of it is pretty simple to do. Bar teh bushes (which i got teh mechanics to do) everything else is almost just take out and bolt in more or less. If i were in Sydney id come round and do it with you for a carton, but Adelaides a bit far haha. key thing is having the right equipment and right space to do it in. If you want i can go through with you what u need to do on each part breifly if that would help. Shoot us a PM if u need any help.

i doubt it will be the ABS as it happens exactly the same on my car, and mine is a 32 Gts-T (non abs). Someone briefly mentioned the Hicas Solenoid in the engine bay, but im really not quite sure.

Help Diagnose These Funky Noises
R32Abuser replied to tek_01's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeh, the 33 Gearbox wil be alot heavier than the N13 gearbox, (someone correct me) but they are around 90-100kg. Possible to "bench press" but the easiest way is with a pit or hoist, with a gearbox stand or the like. The Whiring sound could be your thrust bearing but without listening to it i cant be too sure. They generally wear out and need replacing every now and then, but to do so u need to do as much labor as required for a clutch change so it can pay to do the change (clutch) when u r changing this over if your clutch isnt in the best condtion. The Tramp can be put down to many factors (suspension related etc) or even worn drivline bearings, so best to check the suspension stuff out first as thats all simple. Replace any worn part etc, then if it still persists, check these driveline bearings. My car still tramps after doing a full SydneyKid Kit, and checking all tires etc. So im unsure. Good luck
