I have had teh following problems. Firstly the pump iis a Bosch 040 in tank. Got the pump all fitted in by my mechanic and it was all sweet for a while. I was turning around in a fairly cambered street and came to a halt to park wen all of a sudden i hear a (to the best of my descriptions) "buzzing" or "spitting" sound coming from the fuel pump. Later that day i took the pump out checked it all out caus i thought mayb it had (the hoseclamp holding it to the cradle) fallen and was vibrating against something. There was nothing wrong, the hoseclamp was fine and everything looked how it went in wen the mechanic put it in. Took it for a drive and went fine, doesnt do it when driving in a straight line, just when i come to a stop on a hill or a cambered road. My mechanic rekns it is a vacuum leak...Anyone had any similar experiences??

I second the Whiteline and Bilstein Pack. I have 90% of the pack and im EXTREMELY PLEASED with it. SydneyKid Has done an awsome job to put this together. I have tried 2 sets of coilovers by now and these. And these easily put both sets of coilovers to shame whilst also retaining a bloody nice ride. As for pedders. Dont touch them.

Nice one Gary! Yeah that would be good but so expensive to rebuild! Ahh well, we can only dream. -

The "whale" term isnt necessarily in the look of the car, they look slightly bigger (longer and a bit wider). Its more so in the weight. IMO you can feel teh added weight (1260Kg for the 32, 1360-1380kg for the 33 (many different specs on both models from many sources). Dont get me wrong u can do mods to make them feel better. BUt the fact is the weight is still there. Oh and Burko, yes there is rusty 32's but, there are also many examples of 33's that are just as rusty. Its all about how the owner treats teh car. -
Hey mate im not in Vic, im in SA hence they are legal...well anything is really. Yeah looks like the RB25 is the go. Cheers for your help.
-
Cheers mate, much appreciated....I was leaning towards the 25 anyway aswell, for the reasons mainly u sed.

Hey, Just curious, am curious about putting a RB30 or RB25 DET's in my R32 Gts-T and are wondering about the upsides and downsides of either. I will not ( i think) be rebuilding either but possible changing the turbo from stock and possibly a few other mods. Which of the two is a better choice financially, and mechanically? Whats involved mainly with the changeovers anything too difficult/costly? Which one is easier to tune, and what could any of you recommend to run i.e. aftermarket computer etc.... Any thoughts appreciated. Cheers

Depends on what you are after... R32 is a lighter, more nimble car in most forms (different setups etc), however has a less torquier, and slightly less powerful motor. R33 is a heavier, less nimble car, however has a more torquier (hence having half a litre more capacity to play with) and slightly more powerful engine. All round, both are fine choices, in the end it comes down to what you prefer. The looks of the 32 are alot different to the 33, and depending on what you prefer would affect your choice dramitcally. The 33 is more roomier inside, however in contrast to that, it doesnt feel quite so "sports car" like compared to the 32. Mechanically the 33 has a slight advantage due to its younger age, and hence will not have as many problems as the 32. However this can vary dramitcally according to the state of tune, treatment of the car etc. so iwouldnt exactly take this too much into consideration. Im obviously for a 32 more so than a 33...However im not going to sit here and tell u one is better than the other. In the end its what you want from the car and what you like about it that counts. -
Yeah its really quite annoying the amount of "Older" people who really get annoyed at some of the slightest things. Coming home late with a loud car i can understand why they wud get pissed off...but as u say its your driveway, its completely up to you. But accusing people of hooning just because they have a loud car, or it looks "hotted up" is bollocks. Whats more is the power cops have to defect cars, if its a suspision of a defect, then why shud we have to pay to go thru regency?! All about money these days...

Gtr R32 Hicas Light Flashing Please Help
R32Abuser replied to bobby09's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i had this happen, and it ended up being that my alternator was dying, and not charging the battery, hence hicas wasnt getting enough power and was doing this. -
Lol, nah its a forgivable mistake roy. Really any performance workshop can do the work for u...its really not that hard...basically its a drop in drop out thing but can depend on what year ur car is... If its one of the older RB20's then sometimes the oil and water lines are different...If its a newer one then im pretty sure its striaght drop in. Hardest part is taking everything off to get to the turbo

AAC valve?

But when you think about it, apart from being a good driver, what else do you get from being curtious, patient, etc etc. on the road? The thing is you end up getting pinged anyway by the cops either for making the slightest mistake(one which every other driver who passes you on the side of the road whilst your being fined does), or your car gets defected and u get to be raped by regency. You really cant win. Only way to avoid this would not to have the car in the first place...But that isnt happening. Your damned if you do...Your damned if you dont I guess its just something we'll have to live with, and its only going to get worse.
-
Yeah would be gd to kno...What exactly are we allowed to do?
-
nice work Adam...yeah must be just a scare tactic. Another pointless waste of money by the boys in blue just to make themselves feel like they have power over us. As for the asking for the coppas badge number when u get pulled up qand u think u are getting done for something that u kno is wrong...So how many ppl have tried it and it has worked and the officer has backed down on their defect? But then what is to stop them going after driving infringments etc if they are pissed off with you?
-
Madaz, yeah but i dont use either of these unless im going somewhere i kno cops will be Hence without it, it gets 96dB, with just the ECV pulled up it gets 87dB, and im not sure with both but its whisper quiet but when i got the letter it would have been when i had both of those off the car or the valve not pulled closed. Which is the reason why someones got pissed off.
-
Yeah i have both of these...I have an apexi ECV and can put in my silencer type thing...Both kill power but are effective (esp when used together). Doesnt really matter tho...because no matter what i do its going to attract attention, loud or not that loud. Its the predicament that i kno alot of Skyline owners would agree with.
-
Yeah pretty much we are being screwed over...and there is little we can do about it.
-
You think mayb they have done it all in one foul swoop today sending them out?! Seeing as mine was done so long ago i cant see why they wud wait so long to notify me. My car has been on defect before so this certainly doesnt help the cars record. What did u get done for HR 32??
-
Still tho...why members of the public are aloud to do this load of bollocks ill never know. All i can do is complain to them and thats about where it ends. Bogcock- so they just turned up and towed ur car away? Police powers have gone too far.
-
Yeah from SAPOL....got it in the mail today... Funny bout it taking 2 months to get to me since the report was placed. I kno i wouldnt have been "hooning". More than likely i would have been driving along normally, and overtaken someone and held it in second or 3rd till 60. Some pompus bastard has gone..."aww yeah yet another hoon" and decided to say something about it. Its not really that loud. But i completely agree with you. Whats to stop me doing it to someone i dont like? Ill give them a call sometime this week and see what i can find out about this mess. As for the muffler... lol i have none besides the cannon atm. Only pulls just over 90DB... ive already been thinking of doing that for a while... Might just have to get round to it whilst replacing the cannon at the same time. Cheers

"Dear Sir. RE Community Traffic Watch Report I am writting to you as the registered owner of a **** Nissan Sedan A Member of the public has reported this vehicle to police under the "Traffic Watch" Scheme, because they percieved the driver of the abov vehicle breached the Australian Road Rules in that: At about 3pm on the 3/4/2006 Cross RD Unley Park, the driver of your vehicle was seen Excessive noise emitting from exhaust.
