  1. ok well i didnt get started as yet, spent all day cleaning parts again and re-checking all the clearances. Just thought i would add im using a RB26 water pump as the blades are 11mm wide instead of the RB20 that have 8mm wide blades, they bold straight on and reccomend that anyone that is replacing there water pump to use a RB26 one, im also using a RB26 oil pump, not sure if it fits but i will let every one know how it goes
  2. thats good Roy, i hope u put mine on there, lol
  3. thats a great idea Roy, im using std crank and rods just preped and balanced. the block has be modified for extra oilling around the crank.
  4. its a Drift car, but will be used on the street as well, but then again i will be drifting it, doing track days and drags, its only a matter of suspension setup to suit what im doing. this car wont be a daily driver, more like a weekend toy and track car.
  5. ok the engine build begins tonight, will add pics as i go. this is the engine im chasing 300rwkw+
  6. ok thanks guys, if its a tad more than what it should be like 40 instead of 38 is it going to matter
  7. Just wondering if anyone knows the torque settings for RB26 mains, im using RB26 bearings in my RB20. I was told it was around 40ft/lb dose this sound correct.
  8. head work is not cheap, mine coast me about 2k with cams. if i wanted to go any further i would have to get over size valves, and since u need 24 of them it starts getting damn expensive. all my machine work for the bottom end cost me around 1400, including bearings and arp rod bolts. oh and i DID NOT USE RB20 MAIN BEARINGS, i used RB26 mains and the block was modified for extra oilling for the bearings. makes for a safer 8500 rev limiter
  9. DONE 1826
  10. Yes stock rods that have been preped, block has been modified for extra oiling and using RB26 mains that have 4 oil holes in stead of 1
  11. I will share specs once the power level is reached, i will say it has Arias forgies, HKS cams undisclosed specs, microtech, 700cc injectors, custom plenum, atm it will have a trust TD06 turbo kit but will be upgraded.
  12. OK its been a long time since i made a post, but just an update, i have all my engine parts back from the machine shop and im still aiming to crack 300rwkw. it may seen like a big ask but i know it is possible. I do have to say to all that want near 280 - 300rwkw it is not cheap at all. but it is very interesting in trying to make good power out of the RB20. Sure i could of gone a RB25 or one of the other combos and it would of been a lot easier but that wouldnt be a challange. It seems like im almost there with the build and then i need to spend more money. Its taken a while but im about 2 weeks away from the first start up of my new engine. and then its only a matter of running the engine in and then seeing what it can do.
  13. My machine shop used L20 arp rod bolds.
  14. i have a custom plenum on my RB20. im just going to make sure that its not running on the edge of lean, when the new engine gets tuned i will be measuring the temperature of each exhause runner to see what ones are hotter than the other ones. the hotter each ones is the leaner that cylinder will be, so tune for a bit more fuel in that cylinder.
  15. whens the new date for this.
  16. they make me feel good. mmmmm head studs
  17. you might as well go all out and put 200hp in it. will give the same result. a radioactive like glowing engine. but it will be funny.
  18. more friction and force to push the spring down. wouldnt be a huge loss but over all its a loss that will show up on a dyno
  19. HAHAHA
  20. Squizz you're such a funny barstard. lol
  21. Kingston is easier. not so far to travel from brisbane or gold coast.
  22. im in, im in and ready to give hell to AzzurrA and dangerous_daveo. im for option 2, my fastest lap on the long track without chicane is a low 53 sec.
