hey guys, I currently have a set of non-adjustable tien coilovers that were on the car when I brought it but now the struts are worn out and bottomed. Can I just replace the struts or will I have to get an entirely new kit?
-
Hiya all, just got a quick question regarding my R33 Series 1 Auto. I'm looking to replace the ECU (mainly so I can get it reprogrammed for 96 octane and new turbo) but am concerned that it either won't communicate properly with the current auto computer or won't work at all in conjunction. As such, I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good duo system, or auto computer that will work with like a Wolf, Blitz or FC ecu...or hell, even just a supplier since google can't seem to help me out with any combo of search terms I am trying. Thanks in advance.

Damn, wish I'd seen this earlier. Managed to track one down in dueensland that's on the way now Thanks for the offer though.

Knytestorme replied to Viper_r32's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Damn, sorry to hear that Viper. I actually work at Bruce CIT, haven't seen your car around but I think I know which s13 you are talking about...not sure who drives it though. Sorry to hear bout your loss, got the same issue today myself when I got out of my place so now my r33 is sitting in the carpark here at work with no passenger window since O'Brian's don't seem to stock them -
Hey guys, thanks to the lovely people that seem to think they deserve whatever is in another persons car, I am in need of a new window for the passenger side of my R33 Series 1 4 Door GTST so if anyone can help out please pm or post here with price including shipping to queanbeyan, nsw Thanks in advance.

Wrecking R33 Gtst
Knytestorme replied to sav's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Just wondering if this is a 4 door or 2 door as I need new passenger window for my 4 door series 1 -
Hey all, need a steering rack for a 93 R33 GTST asap, got rego coming up and that was all it failed on so if anyone has one to sell, let me know a price and let's deal
-
hmmm, where was that at cause the cheapest I have found for a hi-flow rebuild has been $1950 from GCG and then the cost of mechanic to remove mine and refit the new one (don't have the tools or knowledge to do it myself at this stage)

Heya guys, well seems my turbo has popped and is very close to going so going to try and get it reco-ed or replaced. Saw in another thread that there was now a gcg rep in canberra so was just wondering who that was and if anyone had a number. Want to try and keep the stock turbo and not go hi-flow if I can help it, so if anyone has a decent quality secondhand rb23det r33 stock laying round from after an upgrade, let me know too please

Heya guys, got a slight problem and thought someone might be able to help. I have an r33 auto sedan, replaced the battery in it yesterday morning and now find that I have almost no boost. Even under hard accelleration the boost monitor in the dash just manages to rise from -7 to 0 but stays there, while on the weekend if I tramped the go pedal it would fly straight up to +7. Is there something I need to do with the ECU, or elsewhere, when I replace a battery or is this just some weird abberation?

sourcing regulater + motor for window
Knytestorme replied to Knytestorme's topic in Australian Capital Territory
THanks Tosh and thanks for that Ewan....can't believe I forgot to list model -
Need a working motor and regulator for the rear driver door of an R33 sedan. Motor is the more needed part as current regulator may still work out ok but need to get window working for blue slip
-
Well, seems that the poassenger rear window in my car is a little fubar and won't go up or down...and it's a defectable item, enough so that it stops me from getting a blue slip to transfer rego into my name Upshot is, I am trying to source working parts from somewhere so if anyone has any leads, let me know will ya....tried Smash Palace out in queanbeyan, going to try just jap in a bit

Well, had fun yesterday and trying to work out what caused it. Going round the rounadabout near adfa onto Monaro H'Way in the wet, doing about 20 or 30kph, accelerated out like a granny and the rearend just stepped out and kept me spinning to the right. Managed to catch it in time, corrected and came to a stop facing back to the left and the right way for heading up the h'way before getting into the way of oncoming traffic but got me wondering what I did wrong. Since I haven't driven a rwd or an lsd car for about 15 year I think it might just be needing to readjust to the handling, and checking if the tyres are running low on tread, but thought I'd see if this might be a common issue in the wet that just needs awareness of or if it might be a handling issue.....or if I just screwed up

Jay, I'm 34 but yeah when I went through it over the phone I just said it was a 93 skyline, turbo, might be under gtst and she said "ahh yeah there it is, 2 door or 4 door", also took me through the difference between market value or agreed and when I said "so if I take agreed value, when I do work on the car I just need to up the value and the premium will get adjusted" she just said yup. I've been driving for 17 years now, been with NRMA for all of them, only needed to use them twice (once for the stolen car and once for getting rear ended near calvary hosp) and both times it's been quick and painless with no hassles. I'd suggest giving them a go, standard excess is $400 and driver excess over 25 is usually $400 as well.
-
Got a quote today from NRMA for 93 Skyline GTST 4 door. 65% NCB, multi-policy discount, no claims in the last 5 years except a theft write-off in nov 99. Policy cost on agreed value of $20K = $1924 per yr or $167 per month Cost on market value = $1450 per yr or $127 per month Not sure which to take yet.
