  1. I would go the series 8 rx7. They are just so sexy, so rare, lightweight well balanced rwd heaps of potential (not that the GTR doesn't) but it would have to be a 34 to make me think.
  2. This reminds me of when I was in a car crash in Germany in a Mercedes station wagon. A van and a sedan into the back of the Merc. Merc not a scratch, the van samwidged in between totalled and I remember the the sedan being pretty rooted as well.
  3. I use Synergy. My friend use to use optimax on his BMW motorbike and it started stuffing up. He took it to BMW and they told him to stop using optimax. Now it runs fine on either synergy or Ultimate.
  4. About point 4. I'm over 5'11 and I have no problem at all. Actually there is plenty of room. The spec-r which has a sunroof however is much lower and possibly maybe what your on about. Point 5. The gearbox is that bad. It's not just the fault in fourth gear, it makes alot of noise and is just generally annoying. The fact that knowing that one day it will blow up and that it must be replaced with a five speed is annoying. Especially since it will probably significantly depreciate the car.
  5. I've been in a spec c. My friend bought one off somebody who brought it in as a personal import. It is a big step up from the STi's we get over here. One cool feature is it has DTTS which means it has about seven settings between fully front wheel drive and fully rear wheel drive. It also has active yaw control and comes standard with semi slicks. This could be a big advantage if it is a race stock vs stock though. It also has forged pistons and a semi-closed block, Brembo Brakes. It is 10mm shorter than the stardard STi which no doubt shifts it centre of gravity to a more ideal location. Water spray kit also comes standard. It also has a twin scroll turbo. Anyway the list goes on but it is really leagues above the STis we get over here. I haven't seen the bestmotoring video but given they are only five lap races if the R34 GTR was on the back of the grid this would also be a bit of advantage to the other cars. Also it is no surprise to me the r32 GTR is slower just based on its slower times around the Nuringburg race track than the 34 and I think (??) the 33.
  6. Also agree with earlier comments about the s15 gearbox. It is the worst part of the car. RWD in my case is a pro and I don't drift I just think that it is more fun. Mind you I haven't been in a high powered GTR Still that said I will probably get an EVO for my next car perhaps for something a bit different plus there doesn't seem to be any good affordable rwd cars anymore. Couldn't you get an 89 GTR and rebuild the engine with forged internals for about the price of an s15?? Or are their more issues.
  7. They have a been tested by best motoring as well on the track. There were three differently modified ones against a lightly modded s2000 and a lightly modded s15. Both the s15 and the s2000 were faster, with the s15 being the fastest.
  8. I pretty sure the power for an xr6t is around 180-190rwkw. Aps tested them and found a large amount of variation in the stock car up to 20rwkw if I remember corectly
  9. Well for with mild mods the aps phase III xr6t has run a 10.98 and is street legal. This package I think costs around $8000 and the the cars intial price tag is only around $45000, so in my opionion mildly modded fords are winning the battle at the moment.
  10. You won't be able to get a 2001 JDM model as they were australian delivered late 2000 onwards I think. Driver: The road angel thingy only tells you where fixed cameras are. Still beter than nothing I guess.
  11. I was responding for a friend but he is a bit worried about driving a car like this around on the street with the defect happy cops these days. Anyway it is an awesome car and whoever gets it is very lucky.
