  1. It is sooo true that size isn't EVERYTHING when it comes to traction. I had Falken Azenis 255/40/17's on my R32 with 217rwkw and it spun like crazy from 1st through to 3rd. If you took off normally, then hammered the throttle in second the tail would end up sideways like crazy. DECENT tyres go a long way, as aforemetnioned. Suspension & alignment setup is crucial, I think Sydneykid posted up what his ideal settings were for 200 plus rwkw cars...have it saved somewhere...will try to find the info and post it up.

  2. SPOTTED: Amaru & Aurora (minus their beasty cars) & couple of other blokes out da front of Ali Baba on Saturday arvo just chillin. Don't know you blokes too well so woulda felt like a nugget bein a random and just saying hi. More of a Skyline owners spotting than actual skylines.

Also: Last week in Dickson right opposite Jimmy's restaurant an absolutely awesome yellow widebodied R33 GTST...looked like Kakimoto style...Anyone know this beast? It looks so tough in the flesh!

  3. This is certainly the million dollar question on a lot of GTST enthusiast minds. To be honest the 89's can represent a dream come true or your worst maintenance nightmare - As i've been constantly reminded by people in the know (editor of HPI, etc) GTR's are a hell of a leap in maintenance budget over a GTST. However, they are as good as their rep. Beware some of these bargains though! I say if you've got the cash - Go for it. Oh & yeah, it'd probably be better to go with a model that has already got a newer engine or one with a rebuild -extra peace of mind.

  4. Just then at Erindale Macca's....Very shiny Gunmetal Grey R32 GTR with huge chromies. As it left, the back words SKYLINE lit up in red along with the brake lights...VERY clean car, and its For Sale too!

Also; last nite doin the laps in Manuka - a white R32 GTR with NSW rego...KEV, something or rather...anyone on here?

  5. Hey mate, why don't you just buy mine. Its an R32 with an RB25DET conversion! Anyway, the engine itself in good nick should only be around $2500-3000 with the loom n ecu. You will save yourself heaps if you do the installation urself with some mechanic mates as the labour is the real killer when it comes to overall cost. The previous owner of my car did this (He was 1st aussie owner of the car) which I had professionally inspected and everything was mechanically sound. Once all in, you will need an engineer's certificate to approve the mods cause you've increased the capacity of the engine, & any other mods, etc. Good luck - Hope this helps.

  7. Try finding a decent one.  I did... for 6 months.  :)

A few decent one's around - Only problem is they are mainly well into the 100 grand mark. And the way compliance plates R going, I don't think there are gonna be many more anytime soon (Anyone know if 34 GTR's are compliable yet?). Contempt, would you still consider trading ur 350z to get one?
