  1. Yeah, just got mine about a month ago.......here's my list, 1. The headlights are a bit funny. I have to turn my switch like 3 times to get all lights on. 2. Lots of 32's don't come with a full set of vents. The plastic is very weak and breaks easily. 3. Rust doesn't seem to be a huge issue, still check the inner guards and where the sideskirts join, as i have a tiny bit on mine. Other than that they are awesome cars! As Mr R32 M-Spec said, not as common as 33's and heaps of fun to drive!
  2. MickGTR, hows it goin mate - Yeah i was not in my Skyline at the time I saw you @ BP Phillip, was with my gf as we were pulling away - So i would have felt like a nugget just coming up and saying hello. But yeah the octane booster sounds very interesting. Hahaha, i've just tried Wynn's actually and it runs pretty well but i am keen to try other boosters. Will definately come up if i c you out and about. There needs to be a cruise soon!!!! On the spotted note: Was on my way to fyshwick this morning and pulled in behind a nice sounding Grey R33 who turned onto the Monaro HWY and turned off on the Queanbeyan exit.
  3. There are different lips you can get for the 33 GTR front bar which makes it look lower. As Tonygtst said tho, all aftermarket copies vary in size fractionally so its pretty much anyone's guess.
  4. Wow! R34 V-Spec!!!! Did it have Canberra plates??? mickGTR, saw you filling up at Phillip servo about a week ago before New Years. What kind of Octane booster were you running in? It didn't look like the Wynn's stuff. Man your car is sooo sweet! Also spotted, a nice Burgundy R33 GTST going along Sulwood yesterday, got my first thumbs up!
  5. Heading up Northbourne Ave this evening around 8.15pm ish & saw a very tidy R32 GTR in what looked to be a bayside blue respray with gold (Volk i think) wheels, going in the opposite direction. What made it even more head turining was it was lining up against a black VL Walkinshaw that powered away so fast i could barely blink and it was gone. GTR didn't seem to be trying tho. Still a very sweet car. Also at work I spied another silver R32 GTR in the Manuka parking lot.
  6. I have this same problem. I got an R32 GTST running an RB25 with a GCG stage 2 400hp turbo, hi-flowed, plus a malpassi fuel pressure regulator and an old skool Apexi air fuel controller (the dial version). I get massive flamage between gear shifts. Its good for keeping those pesky tailgaters away but heaps scary when you are driving around town where it is dark and all you see are huge flashes like fireworks goin off behind the car. Could it possibly your exhuast? Cat been gutted? I am nowhere near competant on problem solving these things as i only just bought my car but I think there are a number of different reasons for different cars. I'm tending to think mine could be a combination of what Amaru said about the aftermarket BOV's & my exhaust. I got the older model HKS SSQ and it is atmo venting, plus my cat is gone. I am running heaps rich but it is better than making the car run lean my mates have told me. Be interested to find out the solution to your prob Meshmesh, keep us posted.
  7. Front bar is older version (Without the N1 Inserts). They also come with, IMHO, those stupid looking externally mounted aerials. The famous rear round lights are also slightly different on these models. A couple of cosmetic interior changes too. Oh & they have the Nissan badge mounted on the bonnet lip center rather than the Skyline "S" .... I think the general consensus on price for a decent example is $35k & up. Have seen some as high as $65k for really low mileage trailer queens that hardly leave the garage. I think Jimmy Richards used to own one (Oz Spec) but sold it. He may have gone through a couple (Not too sure if it was the Oz Spec) as he raced one in Targa Tasmania one year.
  8. 1993 R32 GTST with RB25 (installed in Oz) Gunmetal Grey 93,000 km front mount stage 2 GCG turbo 450hp 2litre surge tank, bosch 450hp fuel pump 17" white deep dish circuit racing wheels DBA gold slotted and drilled brakes all round Apexi air fuel controller Apexi boost gauge Sard turbo timer three inch exhaust off the turbo, stainless muffler Kenwood head deck bilstein suspension Malpassi fuel pressure reg sunroof GTR front bar, side skirts & rear pods (Anyone got a genuine bonnet, spoiler & grille 4 sale??) 5 button ceramic race clutch (Died after second day I had the car. Now running a Daiken Heavy Duty) HKS super seq bov Picked it up for $18.5k
  9. http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/0018 J-Spec have themselves a killer White R34 GTR for 59k (read in the General Discussion). You could go that...probably be closer to mid to high 60k once imported. :uh-huh:
  10. http://www.shogunclubdivision.com/profiles.../googs_gtr.html Very nice on a red 32 GTR.........
  11. Sorry, I meant the N1 R33 GTR - My Bad!
  12. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...s=&postid=57762 Sorry its gunmetal grey.......but still nice (from an old thread).
  13. I'm with ya Pentae, 32 GTR's rock. Obviously personal taste is a big issue here. But i'll tell you why 32's 'do it' for me. Many reviewers of any series GTR consider the 32 to have the perfect dimensions; size, weight, etc. This is the car that won THE (Japanese Group A, etc) races, everything about the car is purposeful and it continues to hold idol worship status as the 'purist' of GTR's. The R33 is considered to be far more comercialised, roomier, - therefore more practical, etc (Still an awesome machine!). It was released at a time when competitors were starting to catch up in terms of equivalent rivals, e.g. Rx7 Series 6 & TT Supra. I believe the 400R was developed to counter this. Whereas the race 32 GTR is basically the most similar to the road going version, the 33R is heaps different. Lets not forget the wheelbase on the R34 GTR's actually shrank to capture the similar feel of the 32's. V-Spec 1 & 2 32's have the ATTESA-ETS PRO and Brembo's of the 33's so I guess they'd be your most desirable purchase if thats the package you're after. In terms of looks how could you not love the original Godzilla??? Check these out.....http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...=&postid=160340 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...=&postid=164239 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...=&postid=160282 Have I made the sale?
  14. There are quite a few 34 GTT's going around.....couple of silver one's (some 4 door), a yellow, couple of black and a white one with what looks to be a carbon fiber bonnet (very schmick!) I don't know of any 34 GTR's going around. There hasn't been any on display in either of the two main import yards. If you end up getting one it would certainly be in the 'very-rare' category.
  15. pics to scruntwhiz@hotmail.com, thanx mate.
  16. Pics plz scruntwhiz@hotmail.com:uh-huh:
  17. Simmo, R u the gunmetal GTR with license no....YTT 68U (white letters on black plate)? Or something like that? Very nice sparkling example!
  18. My friend donated the whole WWE Anthology (3 Cd's) to me. An entire generations worth of wrestling theme intro's. Man, Stone Cold Steve Austin & D-Generation X theme's rock!...Not to mention Hulk Hogan & all them old skool wrestling theme's ...lol!
  19. Actually, Goran is only a member of Shogun and they cruz with us Elite guyz occasionally. His friend Luch has a similar powered TT Supra - both R outstanding! On a similar note...does anyone know the other burgundy R32 GTR going around with a few stickers and a big alloy t-wing?
  20. Simmo, just a few questions....R u running a single-plate with ur new clutch, R u on the stock cooler? U should be around 400 plus hp @ the fly with this set-up (Very nice! ) I wouldn't worry about bigger injectors and a bigger fuel pump till you go the GT2530s.:uh-huh:
  21. I recently pm'd Ben Ellis who is the editor of HPI about the 89 GTR's because I was looking into possibly importing one. He told me that there were definately good examples floating around and just basically to be choosy and be prepared for higher running costs. Whether this referred to fixing the RB26 & other parts of that age or just general maintenance I wasn't too sure but it did add some food for thought. The way I see it, there are two sides to the coin and atm the 89 model R's are a bit of an unknown quantity coz nobody has one yet. Until they are finally available to import under the 15yr old rule nobody here will know for sure whether they are worth it in terms of bargain prices. I know i'm hesitant on the gamble. If they are pretty decent, disregarding age, because it all comes down to how they have previously been treated, then they will turn out to be quite a purchase. The general mentality is that once a car reaches a certain age then they become susceptible to a buyers caution (esp with this model Skyline) which isn't the case all of the time. I have been looking at getting a 92/93 model but might wait and see how these 89's fair at the start of next year. Because i really can't justify spending the extra 10k if I can get a decent example and save the 10 g's. The only thing holding me back is the uncertainty of not being able to drive the car. At least with the newer models already in Oz, you can have that peace of mind. The last factor is the comparative value. Once the market starts taking more of these 89 models in i wonder how prices on the 92/93's will fare...of course they will always be higher but I just wonder if they will drop below the $35g mark for decent mildly modded examples?
  22. Sil8ty...good topic, I guess it depends on your current situation. How much faster are you willing to go for the dollars. How much power does your current ride hold atm? Assuming you have basic mods already, some sort of air filter kit, cat back exhaust, boost controller, stock ecu and possibly a front mount i'm guessing your round the 160-170kw mark at the wheels? For around the budget you mentioned you could compliment what you have with a newer ecu, bigger fuel pump plus a fuel pressure regulator and larger injectors. Which would certainly give you that kick in the pants u R looking for. GTST's r becoming a lot more common (admittedly) but thats only because they R a Kick-Arse car - They still look the goods. But if you've got your heart set on a change of wheels the GSR is only a suitable replacement in terms of performance but not looks IMHO. I'm not too familiar with the Lancer but the 4G63 engine is supposed to be an absolute demon with mods. Or you could do the next best thing... as Jase said and get a 32 GTR!
  23. Yes this is very annoying. But I guess the rap that comes with some reckless drivers is even worse. Fair enuff you got an extremely nice car that makes everyone envious, but you don't have to be giving everyone a bad name at the same time. I'm sorry but I have seen some careless idiotic driving by Skyline drivers too. Not trying to put a generalisation on everyone just a handful that are pulling down the reps of all the enthusiasts who do the right thing.
  24. How many times does this happen? Wealthy parents handing these lovely cars to unexperienced drivers? Who suffers in the end? The poor R34 GTR...another one rests in peace
  25. With HKS you are really paying for the name.....but ive heard the quality on some aftermarket no-name brand bov's aren't up to scratch. If you really want a sweet sounding atmo venting bov go the HKS SSQ. There are heaps of second hand one's for a good price.
