  1. Yes it seems like the barrier to GTST becomes pocket heavy when going beyond 300rwkw. Personally i'd go the GTR if BIG HP is the go...Plus the torque has to be ridden to be understood! :burnout:
  2. Saw one of these the other day driving behind it on the Parkway in Canberra. Thought it was just sum regular jo-blo camry till i got closer and saw Mark V Series 2 on the back. It was black & was being granny driven by the owner. Looks so much like a sleeper I reckon anyone that gives it a go would get a shock!
  3. Yeah from the angle it looked wide. The rear and side guards thru me off...Doh!
  4. Looks like it has some sorta Kakimoto widebody kit on it. Can't be sure...its too dark. Damn it looks nice though? Where did you get the pic Jamezilla? Is that R logo illuminated on the bottom sideskirt or is just reflecting off something??? Anybody have any guesses......I second Merli...no such thing as an R33 V-Spec 11.....
  5. Signed contract for new car yesterday, no room in garage for both! Price now $9,000ono. Will email pics on request.
  6. Sounds like a beast, Pics Plz :uh-huh: scruntwhiz@hotmail.com
  7. The temptation of these 89 model GTR's is quite appealing. (Excluding this exception) Most seem to fall from as low as 15g's to about 25g's. However there are always some worrysome facts. For example in the Prestige mailing list there was one awhile back (silver i think) that looked absolutely immaculate, but if you kept on reading the stats listed that the AWD didn't engage when ignition is turned on the first time round. It had to be turned on, switched off and then turned on again for the ATTESSA system. Undoubtedly an electrical malfunction, but makes you wonder. Still they seem a bargain considering most are all good n straight. Damn I want one!
  8. I doubt they would export them if HKS decides to refurbish all eight of them. Can you imagine the dollars they'd cost? Availability would probably be to exclusive buyers only. *Sob* Interestingly HPi even said they R modified enough to be considered "a different car" in comparison to the standard and light tuned GTR's of the time.
  9. Absolute Beast. Worth more than the price tag.
  10. The "Self-fixing" frontbar is when the EVO ram-raids the gates into the boat shack on the waterfront when Brian and Rome R racin the otha dudes to get that "package" for Verone. Next scene after he ploughs through the gates it is virtually unscratched. The Convertible Spyder was also briefly in the first film on the 1st drag nite when everyone is lining the streets.
  11. Munro, Can't believe you'd consider selling the R34. They R such a rarity on the streets and turn much more heads. Most others who can afford em use em for track work or events like running the Targa Tasmania, not regular street driving. The other group spend the dosh on what they consider to be "top echelon" sports cars. I suppose the work goin into Doug's old R33 would negate the use of the 34 but damnnnnnnn wat a loss.
  12. I saw it yesterday....It started off awesome then just lost the intensity! I miss Vin Diesel! Funniest line in the movie is where the Fro dude rings up Paul Walker and says "Yo, wanna race?" & he says "Yeah I cud use tha money".....yet he's got an R34 GTR in his garage decked out with tha biggest NOS bottles! The things we do 4 our cars....... :burnout:
  13. Just wanted to ask GTRKEN, In ur opinion...wouldn't the price and abundance of these 89 model GTR's bring the market value down on the current 92-94 model R32's? Excluding say the V-Specs & the Oz delivered models. Im talking about the regular jo-blo one's. IMHO, when it comes to buying an R32 GTR it still would seem better to go for the 92-93 models that have already been imported - At least you can get the drive and feel of the car plus all the necessary tests checked out here. The biggest plus with getting the 89 model would be the price difference, 10 grand is usually what makes or breaks the financial situation (plus anything that needs fixing). Its so tempting to go an 89 one tho coz they are virtually the same car - just a lot older. But i guess its all horses for courses...who's o say an earlier model GTR is any more strapped than a later one?
  14. Anyone hear about Juan Pablo Montoya being nabbed by cops in France for doing 209km/h in his modded BMW M5? Apparently this was 80 over the speed limit. And get this, He chose to ignore the sirens and tried to keep going (prolly woulda outrun the cops if he kept going . He was reportedly chased 4 several km's before deciding to pull over. Apparently this will only result in a heavy fine and a 2 month suspension on his regular road licence but won't affect his F1. Go Pablo!
  15. Up to 400-600kW I reckon on standard internals...dunno bout 1000hp...... However, If ur talking about just the original block (2JZ-GTE) - then yes. Take a look at any of the performance production houses outta Japan. The one that comes to mind is the Supra built by JUN (they have built a few runnin 700-800hp. The one i'm talkin bout is the Yellow one seen in HPI Magazine and a couple of their video's. This beast does around 1000 hp with a stroker kit of a capacity around 3200cc. It sports a T88H-34D set to 1.3bar (a whopping 19psi). Plus a few otha goodies. Get this, peak torque is...1078Nm at 5700rpm! That'd launch almost as hard as an F-18, lol
  16. Ozzy where do you normally get ur ULTIMATE from? The BP in Phillip or Civic? Man its good to hear more place are poppin up in the ACT/QBYN area sellin the stuff!
  17. Is it a GTR? Black R34 GTR's :drooling: The only one's ive seen round Canberra R Silver R34's - bout three of em. One is pretty done up with big alloy t-wing some unidentifiable bodykit (looks like factory Nismo), cool rear underbody carbon fiber stuff, Another has Tommy Kaira written on the lower door side panels. Another is a 4 door with chromies.
  18. Anyone know how much boost you can run on a virtually stock R32 GTR with following situation: Stock turbos, pod filter, 3.5 high flow cat HKS Super Dragger exhaust, Single bruss button & Some werd aftermarket Japanese Boostcontroller..... Would it be feasible to run more than 16psi? And does anyone know what the power to the wheels on an estimate like this would be?
  19. They R both pretty evenly matched. Don't underestimate the powa of the CA18 - yes in terms of build i don't think its as strong as the all alloy SR20 - There was an article in Zoom magazine (no9 i think) Where a CA18 180 pumped out 300+ Kw's @ the wheels so its definately capable. In Japan tho these cars are greatly considered as Drift cars as opposed to drag. RB20 is a straight 6 and the CA18/ SR20 are 4 cylinders. Still I have a couple of mates who get chopped just as easily from a mildly modified 180 in their R33's which have around the same power. But when you're talking a bit of drag you'd prolly go the SR20 coz of its responsiveness and internal engine strength.
  20. Is it a 6spd? Coz if it is you R one lucky barstard! They R rare as! Probably be one of only around 10 (or less) in Oz! BTW, if u don't mind us askin, how much you payin?:burnout:
  21. Check these deals out! http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...asp?StockID=730 http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...asp?StockID=733 http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...asp?StockID=736
  22. There R awesome deals going on PrestigeMotorsport (join their mailing list by going to their website It is heaps helpful wih plenty of info on cars you R interested in: prestigemotorsport.com.au) atm under new Sevs import laws there are rules which allow 15yr model (89) R32GTR's to be imported, prices range from about $15-$25 - Absolute bargain for the type of performance you get. However you can only import them beginning of January 2004. Unless you pay somethin like an extra 3-4 grand to import now.
  23. Soulja, I guess it depends on what the car is intended for and how long you plan to keep it. Firstly the Vette. Having no 1st hand driving experience i'm a little lame on the subject but i've sat in a few (all post 91 models) and have to say they are smooth. The American muscle car i've really had more experience with is the Trans-Am.These are loud rumbling V8 monsters with plenty of squirt. I know there are Vette/Mustang forums you could look up to get more info. Coz the U.S. has plenty of juice to get these cars going. I know on Supraforums.com they regularly drag TT Supras & give em a run for their money. Vette's certainly have street presence. I agree with Roy, go the manual for performance gain. The R32 GTR imho would be a little more expensive in terms of building into a street weapon (if that's ur intention). However a prang in either of these cars would make insurance scary. Personally i prefer the refinement and quality of the Japanese build - plus the availability of aftermarket gear is much easier to get for the GTR due to the recent surge in import popularity.
  24. Agreed with VSpecV, i've driven a 32R with a brass button single & it is not user friendly on a daily grind.
