  1. I could PM but I will ask here, how much shipped to Melb COD via Postoffice, and is that socketed or not?
  2. I think that the lenses would look great blacked out so you only see the LEDS when braking!
  3. Anyone with an R32 GTS4 RB20DET Automatic ECU for sale pls. If you know someone thats changed from Auto to Manual in a GTS4 let them know as they probably have one laying around they dont want!?
  4. Thanks Phil, I for one was most interested to read this. I have extensivley modded my GTS4 RB20 head and wondered later if I might have been wasting my money and time. By the look of SK's experience on them it was probably worth it. On a side note I have often wondered if all of us are missing out on SK's gems in PM's and wether he should put them all to the Blog.
  5. You may not agree on my lateral thinking but I have proved that by increasing the area/dia of the pipe will give more flow potential to the AFM. (Std RB20) I just cut the circular part off and drilled a hole the size of the probe and inserted it thru and glued the box part to the outside of the larger pipeing. Allowed me to run 550cc injectors on standard tune and drive to dyno for triming. More info here on AFM Upgrade
  6. Yes they will work as long as you set the resistor pack up to suit and the injectors are top feed?. Do a search - this has been done to death.
  7. You would be wiser to check the fluid level in the reservoiur in the boot on the rhs. If that is ok you may need to bleed the system as well to get it working properly. That is assuming that the electronics are ok and you have checked the fuse under the hood is OK. It says on the cover which one.
  8. Looks good, and a great effort with the luxobarge. Now if I could only just graft a 2JZ onto an AWD Skyline platform......
  9. A lot of good press for UniGroup on thier expertise with a PFC, BUT weren't they producing thier own ECU that was suppossed to be pretty good for SKylines as well some time ago? I think it was a piggy back but I have an RB20DET Auto so cant use a PFC, or can I?
  10. NICE!! - Would like to do this to my GTS4 as well. Maybe later this year. Like the stealth idea with the heat shields etc. Can you get to those Cam Cover screws? My HKS Tubular intake makes it damn hard but possible. Like the full polished look as well, looks trick. What sort of price would a manifold like that be worth to buy from you?
  11. Looking at that RB30 makes me wonder why Nissan did not go that extra bit and make the mains cradle 4 bolts on the bearing caps. It would have been so easy for them, especialy on later RB26 engines when they realised workshops were turning the RB's into 1000hp monsters and needed the strength. Would have stopped all those RB blocks splitting I think. (Not that this one will if built by Gary Hate to say it but some of the Toyota engines seem better in this area. Good luck with the sale -wish I could afford it for "DogZilla"
  12. 2nd Bris for MotorSport Dir or 2nd Motorsport Dir
  13. edit
  14. Did you have the cams out? If you did - did you make sure the cams could turn in the bearings by hand a bit each way reasonably easy(without belt on and hitting valves on pistons) If the cam was binding up and the belt wont snap cause its good somethings gotta give! Sorry to hear about it and hope you resolve it without too much expense!
  15. It would have to be a GTS4 RB20 to allow the AWD to remain. Or a Stagea RB25 for the same reason. You can pick up RB20 AWD block and GB for $2000 and was quoted $ 2500 for a Stag RB25 a while ago. Is it just a filler while you get the RB26 built?
  16. Trans coolers can be expensive so I improvised with a Aircon condensor which has a lot more cooling capacity and added some 12v fans as well for out the drags stalling up on the start line. More Here
  17. Yes, I agree with Cowie165. Oiled filter is more efficient and it's easy to clean the AFM anyway. When you eventually wash the filter out you just have to be careful not to oil it to much as well.
  18. Yeah, wish it was one of those!! But it's one of these which wont go quite as fast but should be more driveable!
  19. Pete I was looking at mine and I dont think I would want it any dimmer? I am OLD and all but it is just legible to my eyes now and any dimmer in daytime would be hard to read. Just my 2c and maybe doesnt apply to younger guys with better eyesight. I dont honestly know how I would have been without this unit over the last month or so trying to yet unsuccesfully fix my ERROR 34 Knock Sensor. I can defeat it when wiring in the old sensors with a known faulty loom on one sensor?? And replacing the entire wires from the ECU to the Loom Plug to Knock sensors with proven continuity to sensors still gives ERROR 34!! &^$%^# The new annular SR type sensors with Fuel Injector type plug MUST NEED THE RHS PIN TO WORK!! I was told its the LHS PIN if the socket is on the bottom looking face down on it which is how its wired! Its the only thing it can be! Sorry for rant.... &*%($#**%^#(*^
  20. Glad your OK mate! I believe that quite a few people every year loose arms across Australia in this way, and that is why we in the nanny state are not allowed to put them out the window or rest elbows on the door etc.
  21. Where's Lenox Walker when we need him? 2 buckets in the shower makes me feel not guilty at all. The flower pots on the balcony dont seem to mind the dirt and soap.
  22. Probably worth a search on "SK RB26 Cams into RB20" From my experience make sure you lay the cams into the bearings in the exact correct orientation at Crank TDC with the cam gears aligned with the correct dot points. This will ensure you dont pull the cams down with the valves NOT HITTING the pistons. Seems obvious I know but we nearly made the mistake first time. Done it heaps now with Turbine and we always put the cams in without the belts first up so we can see they turn some way around (without hitting pistons) by hand fairly? freely without being bound tight. We actually turned a few of the bearing tops aroud the other way to free up some journals so not binding. Also may be worth soaking the bearing bolts for a few hours with crc before trying to remove them as sometimes they seem to bind up and you dont want to break them. Good Luck and as i said:- "search"
  23. Half a chance.... HEY you said 12.30 before..
  24. Dont you IT types need laptops repaired?
  25. I think you are probably certifiable with the detail you are going to. To see what you have done in the time frame given makes me ashamed to admit I have done a ground up resto( nowhere near as well and with help ) to a AMC Javelin started before you were born . One day it will be finished but you will have completed your fourth rebuild by then! By the way, when do you sleep and work? QLD's gain is VIC's loss! BTW the issue here is DEDICATION, - NOT KNOWLEDGE or OPPORTUNITY!
