  1. Unfortunately its not good. Any extra metal in the oil has to come from somewhere and the most likely place is the bearings, but it may be from elsewhere. The only way to know for sure is to pull it down after removing from the car and inspecting internally. But take the items to a good workshop and they may be able to determine further the best course of action.
  2. search under Tomei or poncams - its in here somewhere
  3. I will take the pump and the turbo.
  4. Interested as well, will try to make it.
  5. Looks good. Hope it goes well for you. I wouldnt dare asking for feedback on my website ( www.TurboClub.com )as I would have to redo the whole damn site!
  6. Damn I just replaced the crank and rods and the Oil press sender (from another RB) and its doing the same thing and reading all over the place. I thought it was just the gauge before but the clattering noise was a bit of a giveaway as well so expected problems. Found out it was the countersunk screws in the back of the oil pump had come right out! So dont think its the sender unless proven, but hopefully this time it is!
  7. Gordon that is one awsome effort!! I only wish I had your php skills to revitalise my site that has been around since 1996 and was making some serious traffic a while back. ( www.TurboClub.com ) Does about 10Gb a month now but dropped off a lot as I dont have the time to put into it lately.
  8. Sorry to hear about this, the circumstances certainly do not add up. But I notice you only joined up after it happened. Too bad you did not get on here when you were only thinking about getting a Skyline and possibly get some good advice before buying. We have to get the word out to more potential Skyline owners somehow via some free media exposure of a positive kind Something like the Bikies doing the Kids Toy Run etc. - That must be the reason they can ride around making 120db from the exhaust and you never see them pulled over.
  9. Prior to buying my GTS4 for $35K (1997) I had it RACV checked and was told the Auto was on the way out which was not apparent to me or the dealer. The dealer volunteered the check!! The dealer paid the $2500 to get it completely repaired so I bought the car and have not regreted it. Was five years later it failed again from a broken main band so I had his moneys worth out of it at least. Moral is get it checked by SOMEBODY QUALIFIED at least.!
  10. Often wondered if after getting something pro polished wether it would be an advantage to spray it with totaly clear plastic circuit PCBoard spray that is fairly hardy stuff and pretty cheap. Should stop the polish from dulling off over time I would think. Anyone tried this?

    Play Time!

Hmmm we were poor so one of my only "toys" was a hand me down .22 single shot rifle that I used to reduce the local population of black crows in the small country town I grew up in the 50's. Dad taught me how to use it responsibly at age ten and I never had any dramas with it. Then again I learnt to drive that age as well.. How times have changed........
  12. ?? Doesnt SAU have a FREE & Good Gallery ???
  13. I bought a Performance car for Performance and expected to put performance enhancing fuel in it at whatever cost. Just because the ffing thing has only one 1000 kays over the last couple of years because of various problems with the auto and engine - nothing detonation related - I will only use 98RON, BUT which brand is best? It probably depends on where you live regarding local supply of types, but has anyone tried Caltex 98 which has become available in Melb recently. For some reason my wife swears her Mazda Familia GTX Turbo seems to like the Caltex Premium(95?) better than the BP 98RON I put in it if driving it. So after feeling Shell Optimax and BP 98RON are not as good as Mobil 98RON should I be switching to the new Caltex 98RON??
  14. You dont state the pressure your running? Have you replaced the fuel filter and is the pump voltage OK to sustain the correct pressure that rises with boost pressure?
  15. GTRGeoff has these. PM him.
  16. I would be looking at that "ticking" at 3000RPM closely. Thats what my just rebuilt RB20DET was doing because two of the bigends were stuffed. Get it early and you may save your crank, had to chuck mine as scored so bad. Hope its just a lifter, BUT........
  17. Kozeyekan the JICS look exactly the same as in my HR32 GTS4 so I would think they will fit. They are excellent quality and great for the track. Pretty firm with pillow balls for the road but I have put up with them for four years now so not too bad.
  18. Your right in that he did not understand the actual product you mentioned, but unfortunately you do not either, as his advice applies in equal messure to the outrageous claims made by this device. Do not confuse this "Electronic Supercharger!??" Black box with two or three wires ( NOT that other fan type from UK ) against a valid product such as the "Electronic Earthing Kit" The electronic earthing kit has merrit in that it just allows for a decent earth return around your engine and ancilaries. BTW I have done this myself by just buying some longer battery style cables and bolting on in a few places on the engine / chassis, Its JUST a GOOD EARTH! The other "Electronic Supercharger" is possibly similar to the products exposed by ZOOM some time ago. Now more importantly, can I interest you in 120 Million USD I have been left by an uncle who once lived in Nigeria and inherited a Diamond Mine? Just send me your bank account det...........
  19. Your in Melb so take it to Blackburn Nissan. I have taken my GTS4 there at least 4 times over 8 yrs and they have run the consult box on it every time with out charge. After all it only takes a few minutes to completely check it out, BUT, I was willing to pay and they said no need to pay its OK. So I usually buy my parts there to try to give something back
  20. We are not sure what your "obvious" AFM problems are, but I cleaned mine for 8 years by spraying with metho and lighting it with a gas lighter for a few seconds. -Maybe a bit extreme but it kept it going till I replaced it with a Z32 and ECU dyno tune ( Dr. Drift )
  21. GTS4 Std Inj are RED. I think the white inj would definately be causing higher fuel consumption on a standard computer and fuel system.
  22. Irrespective of what the crux of this discusion is, I have enjoyed the content and now at least dont go blindly on the 0-100 time as a definative measure of performance that I must admit I once did. Thanks to Big Rizza and others that contributed to this thread.
  23. OK.....so based on your maths, what would the actual quarter mile ET and speed be for all cars?
  24. Sorry if confusing but thats just me, and you cant check the oil pump screws unless you remove the sump. Bummer that! Especially if its AWD!!
  25. They say you should NEVER photograph cars on grass. Not sure about that, but I am sure I would like to own your great lookin GTR line! AND you probably paid less for it than I did buying my GTS4! (8 Years ago;-)
