  1. James I have put 50min of video from 2005 Show and shine on CD if you want to show it from 7PM while we are eating drinking prior to meeting. 10 min on GOGOL alone!!
  2. This is what I just put in another post similar to your problem.... BTW it was the countersunk screws in the back of the oil pump had come loose - go figure?? Had EXACTLY this problem - drove it around for 6 mths as oil pressure and noise came and went and still made good power, BUT, it cost me. Big ends 3&5 (i think had burnt to a crisp -totaly stuffed and crank scoured also so RODS & CRANK needed to be replaced. Worse it was a AWD ( GTS4) RB20DET so harder to find. Blind_Elk came to the rescue with his orig RB20DET as he put a Stagea RB25 AWD in his GTS4. Turbine, Glenn, pulled the crank and rods from his motor and fitted to mine as my block and pistons were much better and less rego hassels. Will be putting the rebuilt motor back in this weekend with luck

  4. I highly doubt this is a lifters problem. Sounds more like a bent valve to me but I have been known to be wrong before.... I assume that not much was taken off the block? And when you installed the head with the cams in it you made sure no# 1 a @ TDC and cams fixed in correct marking alignment prior to fitting belt?
  5. Just wondering whats the point of giving up if you continue to put nicotine into your body? I know you dont inhale all the other nasties but its just prolonging the whole thing. Personaly I had to just reduce the amount of times I alowed my self a smoke like only one after dinner then only when drinking - HOLD ON that would be a mistake for most off YOU, cause I never drank much! Anyway its a tough drug to kick and still some times after even 20yrs when near someone smoking I get a whif and feel like one. Must admit I have tried the odd one but soon as I take a drag I remember why I QUIT! Guy's you think it wont make a diff if you dont give up, I know you dont think about it, BUT you will be 40 then 50 and still feel great and probably be much more healthy for quiting. I know I am!
  6. UH-OH!! Sounds just like my RB20 that is currently just had the crank and rods replaced because the countersunk screws in the back of the oil pump had come right out. Then again it COULD be the sender but dont procrastinate, get the true oil pressure checked with another gauge/sender or you could be hearing that clattering noise noone could diagnose accuratly on my RB20DET because it would come and go intermittently. Yes it could have been a lifter but is WAS NOT!
  7. I could be wrong but I would have thought that the opinions of the Owner of one of Australias forefront Nissan developers & modifiers for more than 10 years could have some credibility! NIZPRO have the runs on the board with most Turbocharged engines including RB's and lately Ford Turbo's with one running over a thousand HP I belive. Simon has some unique beliefs, but until some of you have the resources he has and the experience in the industry, I will tend to keep an open mind on what he proposes.
  8. Will be interested in one of these soon, as it seems like a better idea than fitting Front and Back sets of different size rolling diametre tyres to set a constant percentage of AWD if on the circuit track or drag strip. Has anyone else thought of this method and have any facts on actual rolling dia differences and the fixed torque split it gives? Will PM when ready
  9. Glad to hear your OK and well enough to think about kickin a footy! All the best
  10. I cant disagree with the OIL Pressure Gauge considering my RB20DET AWD is being rebuilt as we type from lack of oil pressure! The countersunk screws on the back of the oil pump come out causing oil pressure loss but I ignored the symptom because of the common R32 issue of the gauge reading from near zero to full scale regularly and I thought it was a faulty sender. Expensive mistake!
  11. Cant think of the last time I saw any car broken down on the side of the road from too high oil temp! Seen plenty from too high water temp though. Both important but I would go water. Although I do have an external fan assisted OIL cooler
  12. As I have just rebuilt my GTS4 RB20DET from Blind_Elks old AWD RB20DET by using the good crank and rods back into my block with my good pistons and rings I dont need to keep the following a secret anymore. Steve in QLD has Stagea RB25DET's for sale at good prices IF you can get hold of him on 0433 413 791 or [email protected] You could also consider getting the $450 adapter plate from the guy in ACT (cant remember SAU username) to use a std RB25det on the AWD sump.
  13. Keep this up and you will be able to form an official SAU-TAS Love to come down via the ferry someday and try those great Tassie roads in my GTS4 - always remember I used to hire a Ford Cortina 250 when down there in 70's covering the whole state repairing micrographics gear. Handling was a bit ordinary but you could bag em up easy
  14. Did you check out the turbo's from "SLIDE" Less than $1K for a plain bearing hiflo AFAIK Just another alternative to GCG...
  15. At the F1 AGP SAU-VIC Autosalon 2006 - Those wheels have to go! Will fit my new ones when rebuilt RB20DET back in soon.
  16. Definately need to do a comp test. If its way down it wont fire. My RB20 blew through the head gasket into the water jacket as the water had corroded under the HG to the steel ring and rusted it out from behind on number 6. The comp was down about 10 PSI from 120 on rest of them but was still firing ok though prior to blowing full pressure into cooling system and blowing an impossible to get at hose out at the Calder Drags. Whatever it is, it sounds not good.
  17. Yeah I notice that the top distributor for nProbe wants $699 USD for the last three in existance. May be the only way to get the S/W as cant find it as a torrent. You would have to be keen to pay that much for it although its the full kit.
  18. I would think that they are the Japanese solution to retaining a legal and reasonably strong front bar while allowing that much more airflow to the top of the standard GTR FMIC. I am sure aesthetic design comes into the picture as well
  19. Look good - Satanic the actual letters are cutout and supply the cooling airflow - had to look closely myself
  20. Try Jin_Man, I got one from him and I think he has more.

    Help

I seem to be having similar issues but get around it by only using "FASTREPLY" as in this reply to you.
  22. Waste time looking at SAU while awaiting customers to come into the shop and annoy me with ... "whats your VERY BEST price for this Laptop, as I can get it for less than you have on it at......." ARH-OOO-GAH, CAUTION - Mini advert follows..... My unheeded response is usually "yes, but do they give you a year of FREE labour service on ANY problem with the laptop including software and viruses as well as hardware damage like spilling liquid in the keyboard, dropping it and everything thats NOT Warranty??" Funny how nobody is interested in that aspect unil they find they have viruses etc. and find its NOT covered by warranty. Anyway most people with laptop problems seem to find us helpful...... www.CityNotebookCentre.com.au www.LaptopPlace.com.au PS - Discount for SAU Members!
  23. Hey doesnt this one finish off the photochop perfectly?? http://www.pbase.com/joelstrick/image/60884059 Sounds like you all had a great time, hope to make it oneday when I actually have a going RB20 in the GTS4. Picked up another one from Greg -Blind_Elk on the weekend so maybe soon.
  24. Heres an idea,.... Get a microphone and mount it under your hood near the STANDARD EFFICIENT and LEGAL filter box and amplify it through your stereo system so you can deafen yourself and impress all the 14 yo schoolboys waiting for the bus in your area. SK I think your right!
  25. My reasoning for the Crown Gold Class is that its a small number of seats and easier to fill them all just for SAU-VIC. As said we can criteque the action etc without pissing off the gen public as in a normal screening and interact a bit more with each other wich you cant do at a drive in! Dont forget they serve booze at your request too!! That should get a few more....
