  1. Just wondering who 1 & 2 are..... Gear Grinder - 1 People that get next to me at the lights in the left hand lane after reading my number plate and see that the lane they are in has parked cars just over the intersection decide to try and pull out in front of me away from the lights. GG- 2 People that get next to me at the lights in the right hand lane after reading my number plate and see that the lane I am in has parked cars just over the intersection decide to race me and try to stop me from pulling over in front of them. & Oh yeaaaah ....Some Customers hey AlphA!
  2. Has anyone had any experience on droping a Stagea RB25DET into a HR32 GTS4 Auto? (RB20DET bigends stuffed) Sorry if this is really in the wrong section but I think SK hangs around here a lot I am assuming it should virtually bolt up to the AWD GTR Style sump that I have left in place in the engine bay after removing the RB25 awd sump. If the oil pickup does not align I hope I can change the baffels or the pickup to suit. The Wiring harness could be a problem area especially if I use a NEO (which I probably wont) as I want to use the standard rechipped ECU to drive it all and I dont know if it will just "Plug & Play".. now where have I heard that before? Thats right, its actually "Plug & PRAY!" Anyone have any observations on this electrical nightmare
  3. One Stagea RB25DET complete NO GearBox To replace the RB20DET in my GTS4 that has died in the Bigends.
  4. Comisserations as well AS MediumDave has done, I have just pulled the RB20DET from my GTS4 with the invaluable assistance of Turbine. He did all the hard work while I supervised The last four 10 mm Bolts at the back of the sump inside the gearbox bellhousing had us stumped for a while But someone we asked about doing the job says everyone pulls out the AWD sump on the motor, but that seemed crazy to us. The RB20 on inspection once onto the motor stand seemed to have two black bigend bearings on no 4 & 6. Sure enough both without bearing material and had 2mm movement on crank So I have a similar dilema - Re-Build OR Replace?? We have 3 RB20's to scavenge for parts in good condition but I am concerned that the block could have some issues that caused the problem in the first place and we may have to pull it out again not long down the track. As its taken two solid days to get it out I am not keen to do it too often and I know Turbine would rather be building up the RB20DE+T DragCar in the spot where MY GTS4 is sitting in his garage with no motor. So I have decided to bite the bullet and go a Stagea AWD RB25DET that should just bolt in? Experts, ( SK ) - Yes? No? Anyway if you have one PM me.
  5. If you are replacing your perfectly good RB25DET complete, with a GTR RB26DETT, I am interested in buying a good condition low K's Stagea RB25 without Gbox to fit to my HR32 GTS4 as the RB20DET is stuffed.
  6. Turbine and I just pulled my GTS4 RB20DET out this weekend and found that 4& 6 BigEnds were totaly cooked and stuffed from lack of oil. Have had clattering noise for some time now and oil gauge always mostly reads very low but sometimes full scale so just dismissed the oil gauge sender as faulty which is common fault have been told. Mostly filled to under high level so prob not enough for AWD GTS4 which has same sump as GTR & Stagea. Over filling probably may not have saved my RB20 but it may have made it last longer so I will be filling my next motor up higher. I am looking for a Stagea RB25DET if anyone knows of a near complete motor less Gbox.
  7. What he said!! Its great when your kids turn 21 and your only 40! (Cause you still feel like your 20) Anyway Alex I will have the RB25DET thanks. Or if you know of one around to replace my stuffed HR32 GTS4 RB20...
  8. My HR32 GTS4 AWD RB20DET has spun and cooked number 6 & 4 Big ends stuffed crank etc so want to get a replacement. I guess the oil pressure gauge sender was not lying about the low pressure readings I have been getting for a while even though it showed full scale half the time as well. Well I now know what the knocking noise was when I reved over 3000RPM now! Seeing I have to spend the money I thought I may as well get more capacity as well in a AWD Stagea RB25DET. Cant afford an RB26DETT! Hopefully will bolt straight in. Do not need Gbox - not sure if current RB20 tubular HKS exhaust manifold and high flow turbo will bolt up so may need manifold/turbo if not. Also need at least bottom part of intake manifold to bolt my custom front facing top onto as belive it will fit.
  9. Great to see someone else is not afraid to voice a positive opinion on an Auto Skyline. I also prefer the Auto although tricked up and with a 2700RPM high stall converter. For this reason I have a massive aircond condensor as a cooler with two 12v dc Computer fans on it in place of the original I/C -as heat is the killer of auto's -especially when stalling up on the line You cant do enough to keep the trans fluid temps down and prolong the life of the trans as far as I am concerned even if you dont stall it up often.
  10. My names NOT Brisby but I hope to make some of you eat your words and change your minds sometime soon. I paid $33K for my GTS4 (AUTO) nearly ten years ago and I am not going to dump it for a GTR. Although I may go RB30/25 If I have to eat my words on the RB20.
  11. Be interested to see what you could do in Jacks GTR! Probably give Frank a fright
  12. I have virtualy exactly as you spec'd - will know next week after Dr Drift ecu dynotune what it will go to. Will let you know but expecting around 220 RWkw - the stock bottom end will handle much more, have you seen those rods!?
  13. Because of your obvious commitment to this project and the value of the information displayed I am prepared to pay $200 upfront now to be first in the que to get one. Let me know your details for payment and I will await the finished product or be happy to do beta. Thinking about it though it would have been ideal to replace the std three gauges in the centre console but its probably great in a mountable enclosure as well.
  14. Sorry it was a long time coming but if anyone is interested in a 45 min video of the SAU-VIC anniversary 1st Show and Shine its here = www.CityNotebookCentre.com.au/SAU-VIC
  15. Can someone delete threads like this which are virtual slander and onesided!? Did not see the word "Skyline" in there anywhere as well and just wasted ten minutes of my life reading it.
  16. Hmmm... when I accidently hooked my breathers up backwards all it did was pour smoke as the oil was being forced into the turbo exhaust turbine. Just reversing it fixed the problem quickly. The dipstick stopped blowing out as well. The oil would have been still circulating as it should through the engine oil galleries under this condition I would have thought. This is why when its time to do my RB20 I will do it myself with some help from mates as I can stuff it up just as well as anyone else can. Least I will only have myself to blame.
  17. Sorry to hear about it, glad you were OK!. That was one damn fine Skyline GTS but maybe you should be looking for a GTS4 as that extra AWD traction could have been worthwhile. I KNOW its SAVED me a few times!
  18. Not so bad if they are black spokes but they probably dont look as good then. The important thing is to make sure the centre hole is snug on the hub centre protrusion and they are not centering on the lug bolts only with a gap around the centre protrusion. These wheels have got to go as I want to do some track days and these have no solid mounting to the hub protrusion and just centre on the lug bolts which is not good, especially for track work.
  19. How is this coming along?? Any timeframe?
  20. CS... no, but anyone here play T2?? After 50K frags in UT I could not keep up the pace and found T2 better to rest ocasionaly while deploying defenses or defending. OK I know I'm gettin old but still thinking young
  21. BUMP: Guys, need this TOP R32 GTS AIRBOX ASAP
  22. Nice one JustinFox!! This was going to be mine till I realised its a one plus MB filesize!! Damned if I kow why with so little colours.
  23. Sorry to let the crew down with my one can of beer ( forced on me by Al, a caring President of Vice !) over the four days. Still enjoyed it all though and didnt have to worry about a hangover. But can someone who knows how or is authorised, put these 50 AGP Pix in a Sub catagory as I have put them in the -2006- events header. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/photopost...ery.php/cat/577 Should be in a sub cat - AGP2006 - SAU-VIC AutoSalon PS I promise to drink two cans next year to outdo brisby on a percentage increase basis. " I thought I parked the LADA over there,.... somewhere....."
