  1. Hi Rob, I would be interested in your software when avaialable as I have an AUTO and no desire to drive to see Martin Donnon in Adelaide from Melb again when I need a tune. Not that he did not do an extraordinary job on my std rechipped computer. Drove home at twice the velocity at half the fuel cost from the drive over. After returning I fitted the RX7 Injectors as Turbine has noted ( OLD Man !?;-) but compensated by fully modifying the AFM and air box sucessfully. AFM Mod here
  2. If you wanted to make max HP with near to 10,000 RPM's what combination of Nissan RB components or heavier duty substitutes would you use for reliability?? May sound crazy but we want to use a hybrid RB in a dedicated 800Kg pure drag car that relies on RPM more than torque to make enough power to crack nines. The trans is a fully modded Nissan manualised transbraked auto with a 5000RPM stall converter. Any suggestions....? You may actually endevour to make us see the error of our ways if you actually know what you are on about. :argue:
  3. BAss I would think this sounds like the 30 RWKW Black Hole Usually I believe the Intake is not moved any more than 2 Degrees so sounds like yours was way past this. Have the bolts come loose and its slipped from when dynoing??
  4. BUMMER BASS! Hope you pick it up with the new turbo but once lost, can it be regained on top of what the turbo will do anyway? Hope I dont have as bad experience whith my GTR cams for my RB20 soon. Fingers crossed!
  5. I am not sure what you are trying to achieve but I did not remove my Headlamp assy to make a hugh difference to the intake. I just removed all the 25mm metal plate at the bottom of the inner guard to increase the entry hole and expanded the metal feed duct to fit so at least double the air comming in now from front pas side duct. Or something... hard to explain.. should have some pics somewhere.
  6. Guys I actually designed it, but had some pros cut and weld the aluminium to my specs. Unfortunately it was a bit expensive around $1000 after all the stuffing around and pro coating. The look was worth it but I am unable to tell if it made any performance improvement over standard as I modded the turbo at the same time. If your interested, more info on it hereGTS4 Intake buildup
  7. No worries Daniel, you will hear more from me when I get serious
  8. OK Daniel, I obviously was confused and probably should have kept my mouth shut but then I would not have learned all this good stuff about your dedication to the cause. I certainly was not intending to make you look anything other than someone who was confusing me with the discussion where I had not twigged exactly what you were on about. SO please accept my public apology if required.
  9. I have already used Martin Donnon & Morpowa Adelaide to tune the chipped std ECU after the last bout of mods inc custom Intake, and it come up to about 170KW. As i have done more work and with the GTR cams I was thinking of going to a Piggyback Perfect Power SMT6 & local dyno as its a long way to Adelaide. My GTS4 is also Auto so easier to piggyback.
  10. Thanks SK! That explains it! So from what you are saying I can get one of his plates to suite an RB30 and graft the lot onto the top of the RB20 AWD Sump on my R32 GTS4? I am assuming the sump is the same as a R32 GTR?
  11. Uhhhh..... s13drifter, I am CONFUSED! On the bottom of your sig you claim to have the very plate you are enquiring about as if you know nothing about said adapter plate. This is what you pm'd me a few weeks ago... Hi Greg, No long term testing has been done but i really cant see where any problems could occure, I have seen how others have done and know mine is a far superior way of doing it, and Nizpro had their circut version going i think for around 3 years. THe plate is 10mm thick and is a high cadium/nickel mild steel whick doesnt rust like normal mild steel... With your combo there is a little work getting it under the hood but talk to people like Cubes who have done theres, my plate only adds 10mm towards the crossmember anyway so its not as if you have to worry about the motor sitting higher than any of the other rwd boys doing the conversion. If you have any further questions let me know. Regards, Daniel. Maybe you would like to enlighten me(/all of us) on this because I was seriously going to consider buying said adapter plate from you.
  12. Fsmout, sorry to hijack, but I was wondering the same thing about when I fit Int/Exh GTR cams (thanks Ronin09) to my RB20 which has adjustable Custom mod std adj. Gears. I have read about probs with this mod but I am going to give it a go soon. I am going to be very careful about binding and try to measure everything first.
  13. Yeah Riiiiiggght. You should have come last Sunday to keep the feelin going, mines stuffed but I still enjoyed just cruising it
  14. Unfortunately thats the case. As I did many other mods all at the same time there was no definitive result I could attribute to the Intake manifold. While the RB20 did drive much better overall with more power it was the sum of all the mods including a new custom turbo. I will in time remove it to put on our Valiant Drag car 's RB20 which has a standard intake to test the difference and will let all know then. While I totally agree with your thoughts in this matter based upon logic and dollars vs other Mods, I am extremely happy with the look alone.
  15. Thanks John, all the time, trouble and expense was worth it. (I think;-) Sorry SK. Hi Roy, thanks, it took a fair bit of work just to do that BOV PIPE. The crackle finish is from a Pro shop that talked me into it as he said it would look more factory and Euro as John mentioned. I was going to polish it but the black looks OK. How's your banged up baby going?
  16. SORRY, your right! One of the things that struck me about this cruise was that everyone was so well behaved and even though my car is stuffed and I cant rev past 3000RPM I was able to keep up with everyone. I was sure I would get left behind as soon as everyone was underway. I love my R32 but I have to admit a few well setup R33's in a row, looking up the road ahead sure looks the goods.
  17. Belongs to this.. Great cruise guys, even though I had to let that Torana embarrass me as I could not rev over three grand off from the lights. Have to pull the RB20 down now. He must have thought the rest of you would be easy pickins as well  Hope someone educated him!
  18. DAMN, forgot again... I'm sure no one missed me but I would have liked to be there anyway. Considering I'm just in the city on Flinders St. any chance someone can pick me up on the way there next meeting so I cant forget again?? Roy -commiserations mate, hope you get the beast sorted without too much $$ spent.
  19. Its too damn CHEAP!! The GTS4 is a great platform and worth every cent at this low price.
  20. Reading this complete thread it occurs to me that SK has stated a few times that you cant go by the figures produced by the normal FlowBench procedure of a vacuum drawn airflow out of the valve end of the manifold runners in deducing the effectiveness of cylinder distribution in particular. Is it not possible to measure the different manifolds in this discussion by reverse flowing them - OR as in under boost - feeding from the throttle body on through to the valve end? Could this show the effects of the different configurations from a measurable perspective to each cylinder? I have produced my own Custom RB20 Intake manifold that was based on my requirement to try to fill the torque hole of the RB20 and also gain the other benefits of reduced piping and lag. I designed it to incorporate the long runners to promote low/mid range torque with good top end and I doubt no other manifold here would address this issue as well as my unit FOR AN RB20!. By the way this took a good ten hours or more of actual custom work to produce and I would not be selling them for less than $1000 if anyone wanted one so I dont think the UAS unit is too expensive for what you get compared to mine. Great job John, look forward to the definitive dyno results when available. More here
  21. I wonder how much normal everyday driving is done in this car? TRACK1 Plate may explain some issues.. then again it is a Ford.
  22. Geoff, we get your point and if we had polies like you we might be in a better position on issues like this. Although it felt like theft when I got 3klm's over on a speed camera, it was expected when I got nailed on a country road at 20 over. Your position on this issue is obviously a passionate one and I admire your stand. I suspect not many when taking the poll put as much thought into it as you have. But like most, I just go about my daily life thinking there is nothing much I can do about the current situation as it exists regarding government policies on speed cameras. What can WE do to change it? Also what can WE do to stop the re-engineering of the Flinders St. Overpass on Kingsway into another damn set of traffic lights - UNBELIEVABLE!!
  23. Too many to list .. some here :headspin: V8's - 2Ltr turbos, Love'm all.
  24. I wholehartedly agree with Geoff in principle, (hard not to, with that rationale) BUT I voted for the fines to pay for the roads because there are obviously a significant proportion of motorists who are going to contribute the bulk of the funds, AND I HAVE THE CHOICE wether to be part of this group or not! If I have to pay increased Fuel/Rego/Other taxes and charges, I HAVE NO CHOICE! And yes, I have been pinged a few times.
