  1. It is - at least the only one in Australia is. -Owned by a US Pilot that come over here to fly for Ansett after the pilots strike. Bob Hawke himself approved the importation of the car and subsequent use on Aust. roads WITHOUT CURRENT REGO! -Just some special paperwork. Met the owner at an Ansett BBQ who told me all about it many years ago. AWD is available in the US and kicks most nissan and other  butt. Hey, I own a Starion as well.
  2. Have you got a K&N oiled filter? Sometimes the MAF gets coated in oil and gunk and needs to be cleaned off. I usually spray with metho and light with gas lighter to get rid of it all. -Carefully! Also have you changed your fuel filter? If not, do it.
  3. SK, I dont know how you find the time to contribute so much to this forum! Thank the great spartan air god you do! My question is, if my AUTOMATIC GTS4 made 170 RWKW (AWD fuses Pulled) on the dyno and ran 14.1@98Mph(0-60/2.6) at the drags, what sort of AWD KW do I need to make to get into the high 12's?? And, what would the difference in times be between AWD and RWD(fuses pulled) if I did manage to make 250 AWKW? (My long term goal for my Stock bottom end RB20)
  4. Just be careful not to pry the head unless you are 100% sure you have taken out ALL the bolts. (And drained the coolant ) The main bolts are obvious but there are a 3or 4 small bolts on the corners that are NOT! There is also a lage bolt at the front in side ways near the Steering pump mount if I remember correct. If all the bolts are out it will come off fairly easy so be careful and dont force it too much unless you are sure. Damned if I know how I am going to remember to get it all back together again.
  5. I have some that are just under size, may need skim - FREE if you pick up in Melb. CBD
  6. Its easy to mod the actual injector to be able to take the standard RB20 plug. The only reason the RB20 plug wont go on is there is a small plastic protrusion in the Inj. socket. This small lug just needs to be cut away with a stanley knife to make the std plug fit on OK - a fairly quick and easy fix.
  7. DAMN!! Now I have to buy a new camera as well as all the mods!
  8. 240 Kph Back straight at Sandown in Starion on Murcott Drive day =1.34 Lap best. Standard except for 14psi and Air to Liquid I/C.
  9. AND clocked the fastest MPH down Conrod (before the Chase)in the Starion and come inside the top ten placings at Bathurst against V8's four or five times and once nearly on the podium. And he gave me lots of great advice on getting the Starion up to 160RwKw back in the good old days. And you have had one in the garage awaiting the new head and EFI mods ever since you bought the Skyline seven years ago. And when the Skyline ever gets back on the road you will fix up the Starion to go to Bathurst to pay homage to Brad when Turbo Touring cars make a comeback and he kicks ass in a Mits AWD V8TT Magna! Sorry... got carried away.. :bs!:
  10. Least it blanks out the Harbour Bridge and the fact that its Sydney on the Banner of an Australia wide group. Maybe keep the Skyline and redo the rest with a composite of Capitol City icons -Sydney Opera House /Melb. ..... Uh.... . . Yella Peril ? / Adelaide, Big Church? / Perth, Statue of Alan Bond ??? / Brisbane, Meter Maid?? Oh Well, maybe just leave it alone.
  11. Roy, will Turbo bolt straight to std man? Is WG on Dump or Exh Man? Check PM - Greg.
  12. Congrats on dropping the coffin nails!! Now when you my age you can give all the young guys around you the shits by telling them you are so glad you gave up when you did,and to wake up to themselves! Thanks also for making me realise that all that money I have wasted(??) on cars was only what I did not spend on that disgusting habit over all the years. PS - It will be hard to completely give up - they ARE a DRUG of addiction !! :skull: Hang in there.
  13. You have increased all the air flow systems and have not (or the ECU has not ) increased fuel flow. Or maybe it has but you have other issues as well. I would replace the fuel filter as the easy first step, then check the pump filter. Then check your injector duty cycle and fuel pressure.(is it rising with boost?) You did not say what power you were making but it's obviously starting to get well over stock where more fuel is needed to keep the A/F ratio correct.
  14. Considering the first clean fixed it, maybe its just dirty again The oil is coming from the foam filter your are probably using that someone got carried away with oiling recently? I usually use wd40 and metho then set the centre resistor on fire with a gas lighter for a few seconds to clean everything off and dry it out. Dont forget the ECU usually cooks it up when you switch off to try to do the same thing.
  15. Can't you just run the PFC as a piggyback and get it to control everything else except the Auto?? Hope so, cause I was getting the AP-PFC with this in mind for my R32 GTS4 RB20 Auto. It should be able to handle all the std sensors etc I would have thought. The ECU I have at the moment was custom tuned by Martin Donnon & Simon at Morpowa after driving it to Adelaide. (170Kw) BUT I cant drive to Adelaide every time I change something
  16. Thanks Guy's, now I feel really great having paid $33K for mine  BUT, I dont regret it, cause I bought it in '97 when a R32 GTR was $60K. If you buy that GTS4 for $17K and have as much enjoyment as I have had out of mine seven years later it will have been well worth it. Dont get too hung up on price, especially if its in great condition and you intend to look after it.
  17. Just wondering on the O-Ring procedure for my RB20 head/Block. I have looked closely at the corrosion on the back cylinder between the bore and water jacket and its not a good sealing surface on the block. Will O-Ringing it solve the problem? I dont want to remove the block -can I get someone with the right equipment to O-Ring it in the car at my place? Any suggestions about someone in Melb that can do it if its possible?
  18. Howard Marsden would not appreciate your making fun of his normaly staid "comb-over" and will put a curse your Skyline if he ever reads this
  19. Hi Roy try this place - I had some good reports from people on Skylines about here Advantage Suspension Pty Ltd Fact 4/ 1 Winston Crt Moorabbin 3189 (03) 9555 2633
  20. Hmmmmm. interesting thread. You sure can learn a lot on here When I saw Mik's post I thought, yeah riiiiight! But old enough to shutup when not sure (most times) and its just as well I did, or I would be as embarrased as JimX should be  Dont take affence -take a gate, its lighter.
  21. You did not mention exhaust or dump. If you have not done these then that would be your cost effective next step. You dont want to loose too much response by going too big in the turbo either with the RB20. I have rebuilt mine to T4/T3 for about $1500 (ATP Melb.) but could not get to 180Kw on dyno. But I am leaving it in there and improving everything else until the turbo is the last thing stopping me to get 250AWKw
  22. Bloody Hell, I wondered what that "Towel Hanger" was!? The Side Window Iluminated Louvres I have, as well as a Special Rear window Perspex/Plastic tinted liner, but it makes it a bit hard to see out the rear at night, but does cut down Headlight glare. I must try and see if there is a power socket under the side window trim to plug in the louvres - instant RICE
  23. Sorry for the gratuitous plug, but this site is crashing heaps at the moment. Not as good as here, but when your gotta post, you gotta post!
  24. Probably should really work out what you want out of it power wise, because you may be better of swaping in a 25/26 before you start spending on the RB20. If you will be happy with 200-250RWkw the RB20 will get there, but if you want a lot more it may be smart to start figuring the costs on a 25/26. Personally Im spending far too much on an RB20 in a GTS4 but its going to be enough for me if I can get around 250Kw at all four wheels.
