  1. lol well to me that reads like a contradiction but anyways my last point is still valid can you confirm or correct me on the bit about 75% tint is legal in the front so long as its the total "luminous transmittance" ?
  2. Hi Sorry to dig up an old thread but my undertstanding of the situation is this you may have tint on the front windows so long as it is 75% total... many cars come with factory tint in the glass so when you have this tint + the 75% film the total is alot darker hence the reason why its still not allowed by regency. same goes for the back... its 35% total. another problem is that this law is for SA only so no companies invest in making 75% tint and if they do its the cheap dye crap.
  3. Hi yes i understand where all of you are coming from, it would be nice if these people did have enough money to have these cars well presented but thats just it, how many of you have the money to have 2 cars both modified ? the drags cars have sponsorship, multiple members all contributing money into the project it is also a much bigger scene in Australia. SPL comps, especially in SA are hardly recognised and rarely held, most of the competitors came from interstate. there is no (very little) sponsorship from retail stores and distributors at this stage and hopefully that changes. if it wasnt for the few that did put effort into competing at Autosalon without feeling intimidated by peoples opinions, there would be no competition at all.
  4. My car wasn't at Autosalon. I understand your point of view on the matter and i'm not denying that some of the cars there were stock. However Cabin considers the competition a valid and valuble part of the Autosalon series and it does attract a fair bit of attention from people who don't judge the cars solely by their looks. I'm not sure which day you are refering to but ill presume your talking about the SPL comp on Sunday and the really old POS cars that had to be pushed into the lanes. I can asure you they are not daily driven cars and are bought and prepared (internally) purley for competition often because they have characteristics beneficial to SPL (and they are cheap = more money to spend on the system and materials). I don't know if you understand what really is involved with a vehicle built for SPL so [shamelessplug] check out CAA if you care to find out more. [/shamelessplug]
  5. Don't start this as a personal attack on my age, income or choice of car because you have no idea. Those cars were not modified for show cars and thats the point, they were there to compete in the sound quality (Saturday) and SPL competition (Sunday). Cabin decided to include these comps/stands in Autosalon so complain to them. You have no idea what was installed in some of those cars in regards to their sound systems, and not just a $2000 sub. Anyways im not going to bother defending this any longer. There will always be criticisms from narrow minded people no matter what was presented during the weekend. There was also alot more positive and appreciative feedback given.
  6. well obviously the cars entered in the sound off (CAASQ and DBdrags) were there for exactly that and not for show
