but i referred to 200rwkw with a std turbo mine makes 200rwkw on 12psi, which with a free flowing FMIC, is no hassle for the std turbo. Before i put FMIC on i ran as high boost as the ECU would let me (a bit over 12psi?), which places more stress on the std turbo due to intercooler restriction (pre cooler measurements have been seen as high as 20psi to get 12psi at the manifold!) and no probs. heaps of ppl go hard with high boost and std intercooler, and im yet to personally know anyone stuff their std turbo... I think they are more reliable than ppl give them credit for, if boost is kept sensible.
-
apparently they do improve launches. whatsisname has over 250rwkw and street tyres were useless 1st/2nd gear, then he put 540's on and he says when warm, he can get pretty much ALL his power to the ground.
-
205's eh? sounds a bit small but if they are cheap it would be ok! do you know what these can be had for ronin? are std rims only 6 inch wide? i thought maybe 6 1/2... ive got 225/50 street tyres on stockies that look fine, do bridgestone make 225/50 16 540's? cheers!
-
i think your injectors will run out at more like 210rwkw unless you get a RRreg? Also it wouldnt be wise to trust the std pump at levels of 200rwkw and over. I dont see much point in going a bigger turbo with std inj and pump as the std turbo will take you pretty much near their limits. A nice aftermarket ECU tuned 200rwkw with the std turbo is a pretty punchy street package!

has anyone used 540's in 16inch? say 225/50 on a std rim? Im wondering if they will perform better than a 17 or 18inch street tyre in terms of ->do you get sidewall flex/rolling on hard cornering as you would with a 16inch street tyre? Im tempted in fitting them to std rims for track, as the 16in tyres seem heaps cheaper. cheers

a5h, why get a GTR wing just to have a full GTR kit? Its not a GTR, so instead of ending up with just another GTSt with GTR kit, how about doing something more individual with the rear? If anything else it will set your car apart and be more unique. my 2c PS i do like the GTR kit btw, just think that there are too many GTSt GTR lookalikes running around!
-
your thinking of an engine replacement before you even get a car!? The standard RB25 is capable of more than you will need, just add mods to suit your desired power level, just prepare to dig deep if you want crazy power.

ive been handed keys to test drive cheap crappy cars, but any fast car ive bought, its only when i decide i want it, that the owner let me drive, on all occasions no insurance or deposit. As mentioned, its a good point, that you can usually tell if someone is genuine or just out for a hoon. Like if the first thing they do when they first see the car is give a quick once over then ask for the keys, id definitly say no! In my case i usually have seen the car a couple of times, been for a ride, then decide to buy, and the owners had no probs in letting me drive before i payed.

saw that movie tonight, sick! heaps of hot chicks! man i want mine to do that nos purge thing, but i got no NOS, can you get some kind of fake setup? that would be cool, rock up to a servo SHHHHHHH!

jees Hong Kong dude you must work out JimX is obviously assuming that your going to REMOVE the bumper before you ship it. i think it might be lighter than 25kg though, as mine is pretty light, but i have the smaller bar, not the factory option one. Give UAS a call, they ship stuff everyday and should know. +612 9634 8000

if the factory option bar (you refer to as M-spec) is up to 500 bucks, cant you get a GTR copy for 550? looks way better, but i suppose then its another 150 for indicators... But still, is better in the end if ur getting FMIC as the mouth on GTR bar is much better for intercooler airflow. (I say that but im running FMIC with the non-factory option, most restrictive front bar you can get )

Who runs Microtech or EMS on their GTR??
SLY33 replied to 600hp's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeah, will be good when FC Logit comes out for GTSt's -
dude you will make easy 240rwkw with this turbo. As a smaller 2530 will make 230rwkw at 1.1bar on rb25. You cant go by the HKS figures, as they tend to produce closer to their rated mark at the rear wheels!
-
i dunno! i just got a rear camber kit from autobarn! Im not yet back in adelaide so i cant count the number of bushes....

HKS GT2530 dude!!!!! quick spool up, 230rwkw at 1.1 bar -
Extreme single plate ceramic button with sprung centre. Its a pretty cool clutch...

Hi Clint, i have a camber kit (bushes) but havent put them in yet. Its for the rear, i have my car lowered about 2 inches, maybe a touch more. Will these bushes still be enough to correct the rear camber?? Cheers dude

Fibre Glass Vs Carbon Fibre Bonnets
SLY33 replied to DR.ZOIDBERG's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
yeah got mine from UAS. They dont budge on price tho! A while back i offered to buy a full GTR kit and carbon bonnet, the works, was gonna spend around 3 grand cash, and they wouldnt give me even a little discount! i think that sucks, there is always room for discount esp with cash. "The price on the website is the price." the dude told me... -
i thought turbosmart was aussie?! either way, its not japanese

I found this store while searching for a Turbosmart Eboost. It offers it for about 675$ while rrp is about 750. This is the cheapest i could find. Highly recommended site, as the customer service is probably the best you will get! No longer than 10mins after i placed my credit card order i received a courtesy phone call from Dan Rucci (runs the site) to confirm my order and assure me that my details were safe and the order processed. I was kept informed of every step of the process, and he even emailed me pics of the product before it was sent to me. Registered and insured took about a week to arrive. His range is expanding, and whats not listed, he seems very happy to chase up. Worth a look http://www.modyourcar.com.au/rollaboyz.html

this has been more than covered, do a search for every detail you could want!

i used one (LT not MT for 33 btw) and had probs and now have an FC. Personally i believe the FC is better. I dont think anyone will tell you the microtech is "better", but that it can do the job just as well. I was happy with the power output and delivery, but it was noticable on my car that the LT12 didnt "think" as quick as the FC, as despite a tune and a retune, it would stall with a/c on. If working works well, but im pretty fussy everything has to work perfectly....!
-
i didnt get that much an increase with my FMIC, once tuned though, thats when i got the 30kw increase. The extra reversion (fluttering sound you refer to) your getting is due to the extra air in your intake system due to the FMIC and piping. You should not get this sound when backing off from full boost, if you do you need a better BOV, or loosen its spring. - i dont know the deal with the factory ones...

Fibre Glass Vs Carbon Fibre Bonnets

Fibre Glass Vs Carbon Fibre Bonnets
SLY33 replied to DR.ZOIDBERG's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
i just got a carbon one. Dont glass ones warp and go rippley like some cheap bodykits do? Everytime ive seen a fibre glass one it has looked rippley to me. The carbon one has a PERFECT smooth finish, and you can paint it or leave it black. How much do glass ones weigh? i havent weighed mine, but its hell light to pick up. Like ricknizmo, i like the look of the vents more than the weight saving.
