Hunt around on eBay might get you some of the stuff fairly cheaply. Put a GIAC chip in there will get you another 100hp or so........ Another point of contact - http://www.bira.org/ <- cheap brake upgrade using Porsche calipers

R32 GT-R compliance in sydney
go_nuts replied to Jago's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
LOL at Zoran/Simon @ Jappsport Any place that can engineer/comply a R32 can basically do Z32's. Many other cars too for that matter. -
The dealers mumbled between $29-33k which is a bit lower than what I expected to part with it. Then again with all these idiots around, $33k smells tempting......
-
Are they really laggy? Looking to slap one onto the RB26.

By the looks of it, my R isn't the only one being offloaded at the moment so I know my chances are pretty slim but I'll give it a shot anyway. If it sell it sells but if it doesn't then I'll just keep it till I come home. Reason for sale - unexpected career advancement that means I need head overseas so I'll have to pack my bags and go. Update - I don't need to leave as soon as originally hence the price rise as it's not so urgent anymore. I'm not chasing unrealistic money, in fact, the opening price is barely enough to import one, comply it then register it so I think it is fair for the buyer and fair for me. Hey, it's a win-win situation: you pay less than what it's worth while I get more than what wholesale would've given me. Here's the nitty gritty stuff GTR Series 1 V-Spec 03/1995 (according to FAST) 97k km Power @ wheels: no idea at the moment, will go grab a dyno run at Unigroup in the coming weeks when I got the time Resprayed in light silver with lilac pearls Twin Airbag Twin Plate Ogura Racing Clutch/Flywheel Aftermarket Front Pipes HKS EVC 3 Boost Control Nismo fuel pressure regulator Z32 AFM's Aftermarket fuel rail Twin HKS green mushrooms Trust dumps Nismo 600cc injectors HKS Turbo Timer (the previous version from the current) HKS "Priest" exhaust 3" from the cat back Aragosta coilovers with Eibach springs 17" wheel (not the factory one, will get the name off it tomorrow) Bit of history - purchased as a grade 3.5 car from Japan back in late Jan/early Feb, couldn't scrap enough money for the rest of the process so it sits there in Japan until mid March. Got here in April and complied/plated in June. Got most of the documents here and there. I almost forgot, there's those compliance Falken boots which have done 3km so if the buyer wants them, feel free to take it or will deduct them from the price. There are areas which need some attention - the hand brake and gearshift boots are rooted and the stereo (just the head unit) disappeared. There's also couple of minor dents here and there but nothing major but I may repair it as part of the deal if I feel the price is reasonable. Comes with rego until June 2005 (NSW) and warranty can be purchased on your behalf if desired but of course you'll fork out for it. Price - $38,000 negotiable of course. I can be contacted via PM or e-mail to bcnr33gtr @ optusnet com au (assemble that up and send me an e-mail). To answer a few potential questions: /rant * Does the rear diff have fins? Yes. * Is the car immaculate? I wouldn't say immaculate but it's in very good nick with a few blemishes such as the dings mentioned. FFS it's almost a 10 year old car then how can you expect there's not a ding anywhere? * Is it aftermarket intercooler? No I didn't mention it. It doesn't look like it either. /end of rant (there's too many idiots..) EDIT: Pictures are in the Carsales ad Trade-in welcome..well depending on the trade too of course

Doesn't looks like anyone have used it - can't blame them too, with the PC software isn't available and with the effort of setting it up, maybe it's probably a wiser choice to go for something like an Autronic or Motec.

One very sweet ride!

The dealer's offers are getting a bit tempting....hmm. EDIT: had this joker gimme a call, he was asking me for the mod list when the list is so damn easy and plain to read anyway. Asking me if the car is immaculate, what, $35500 for it going to be a brand spanker? I said there's couple of dents, pin sized ones then he said "what? dents? what a shitbox" then hang up. FFS, it's almost a 10 year old car and what's so amazing to find a few dents here and there? Plus it's cheaper than the rest of the market anyway that is enough savings alone to repair those farken dents. Motherphukas.

Haven't we heard of that before? Tell you what, majority of enquiries I've got to date are like "can you wait for a few months.." for various reasons ie sudden career advancement, HSC, uni, girlfriend's pregnant...that's not my problem.

Yes the rear diff cover is finned. EDIT: will consider trades if it helps selling the whale. -
R32 carpet set - no rips, no holes but it's a bit dirty. Nothing but a bit of foam and hose won't fix Offers around $100 R32 Cusco front strut brace - in good condition, might do with a polish around the chrome/polished bit to make it look sparkling again. Offers around $120 R33 carpet set - no rips, no holes and they aren't dirty BUT the passenger's mat disappeared. Offers around $100 R33 windscreen - I think I paid $200 from a wrecker to replace a windscreen that might need replace but somehow the O'Brien dude managed to sort it out for much less than a new windscreen. Offers from $100 R33 GT-R exhaust - stock and in good condition. Paid $400 from JustJap for my car to comply, looking at offers around $300. Falken ZE-326 tyres: 4x 245/45/17, brand new just used for compliance only. Paid $720 for all 4, looking at offers over $600. Will post anywhere in Australia, might COD even. I think the carpet/windscreen/tyres is a bit heavy to be posted but anyway...I am in Sydney. PM me or e-mail to [email protected]. Pics on the way so bear with me.

Bump back to the future -
Advertise on a whole lot of forums seems a bit...annoying and intrusive, plus quite a few forums these days won't let you post in their for sale section unless you've been with them for some time and/or contribute something. Seems hard.

Here are the photos. -
How's things? My plan has changed and I'm being (kind of) forced to leave earlier than expected but the whale is still here. Which dealer should I or should I not spend some time with and get a half decent price? I'll be going for 18-24 months so leaving it around collecting dust (and depreciate) is out of the question. Thanks.

Like I've said before, the only reason was, it only cost slightly more for the D-Jetro AND the MAP sensor kit and at the end, I could ditch my Z32 AFM and sell it which works out to be cheaper than buying the normal kit. slapper - how difficult was it to tune your car may I ask? How long did it took?
-
One way you could get around it is, send it up to NSW and get it engineered then registered there. Ship it back down to Victoria then transfer rego that way. You will probably have to get it inspected by Vicroads but I doubt it they will cane you as hard as a VASS signatory. One funny thing though is, when my brother's car was engineered, the engineer inspected the car first before the workshop lifted a spanner on the damn thing. The guy gone thru the car thoroughly, marked down whatever he wants to rectify then he went away preparing the report. Once the workshop have done their stuff, the engineer came in with the prepared report then inspect it - if he's happy he will hand the report over if not, wait till he's happy. Sorry couldn't contribute more than just this..hope your VASS will come thru with your car at the end.

Is there any advantage to get the D-Jetro version instead of the plain jane stuff? I know I can go toss the AFM's out with MAP sensors with the D-Jetro. The car is still running the stock pair of turbo. The only thing I can see is, I can go sell my Z32 AFM's to recoup the money spent on the PowerFC D-Jetro. Thanks.

Wait for another sleep to get the photos - will have them taken on Saturday if weather permits. Already put the ad in the paper for $35k but I've decided to knock another $1k off hence the current price is $34k. -

Green mushrooms - I was simply referring to those HKS airfilters. They sounds cute doesn't it? Pics coming as soon as the weather permits another wash and some decent sunlight for a half decent 'shoot. -
The easiest thing would be grab the VIN and ask someone who have FAST to verify it. That doesn't lie. Do a search, there's couple of pics scanned from HPI teaching you how to verify it which I find pretty handy.

Spares I could bundle it with the car - Trust oil filter relocator, stock GTR exhaust and a rear window shade. There's also an aftermarket steering wheel with the HICAS boss too if anyone wants to sacrafice an airbag. There's also 2 HKS electronic gauge (boost + exhaust temp) in a GReddy twin gauge pod that's currently sitting there doing nothing. Bit of history - purchased as a grade 3.5 car from Japan back in late Jan/early Feb, couldn't scrap enough money for the rest of the process so it sits there in Japan until mid March. I may install a cheapass head unit in there next weekend, however. There's also couple of minor dents here and there but nothing major. Suppose to have some pictures BUT after I washed the damn thing today it rained so I'll need to repeat that tomorrow.

Howdy fellow 'line lovers, could anyone gimme some clues wtf went wrong with my whale? What I've done: pulled the AFM's and filters out for a nice bath. Drenched the AFM's with carby cleaner but it's one of those non-residual spray. Likewise I've cleaned the airfilter (no it's not a paper one). I was in the mood to tweak a thing or two so I moved the Nismo fuel pressure regulator by about 1-2mm but knowing I could screw things up, I've moved it back by 1-2mm so in effect I haven't moved it at all. The problem: between 3-4k rpm the car hesistates for 1-2 seconds then become pretty willing to rev all the way to 8k. Idle before the cleaning was a bit rough but funny enough it's no longer rough, now purrs nicely. Back to the hesitate thing, it doesn't happen all the time, only happens twice in my 5 minutes drive (to make sure everything's running fine). At no time the car was running in limp mode so I am sure it's not a dead AFM thing. Sums it up, the car idles better, revs easier than before but there's this hesitation in going up occasionally. One other thing I've noticed is, I didn't secure one of the AFM back in as securely as before but it isn't leaking as far as I could tell. Not sure am I paranoid or what, the car didn't feels as quick as before...:headspin: Any ideas?
