  1. Id guess timing is now different that before. just make sure hte timming is on 15 at idle and then fine tune ur idle with the AAC valve screw. It wont be anyhting to worry about:)

  3. I think i am experiencing the same problem! i am about ot call my mechanic and see what he says. I will post back what i find out.
  4. I think rb30e are considered not interference engines, meaning the valves can neve rhit the pistons. In a rb25 howver i believe ther are a interference engine so yes the valves will smash the tops of pistons. Hope fully im wrong. Sorry to see that happen.
  5. I only got arouns 200rwk with the stock airflow sensor maxing out? 230rwkw seems alot for a stock rb25 airflow. I reckon u need z32 for that sorta power level?
  6. Thats really interesting guys, i had a think about it and yes even ith the bracket was loose i done see it effecting timming much. So could this be a sympton of fualty CAS itself? Ive been watching base timming on the PFC handcontroller. It says 15 at idle, now visually the cas in in extreme advance position? does the PFC over ride the physical possition of the CAS and change base timming to what ever its set to? I might buy a second hand CAS and see how that goes? what do people think? Thanks guys
  7. Is it possible if the bracket bolts where loose ths would cause it to walk? I dont have adjustable cam gears. By the way on the PFC at idle my base ignition is on 15 and is fine doesnt wander??? when i visually look at my CAS its bolted in the way advaced position. Tuiner told me they didnt wanna tune it till they get the CAS issue sorted but i dont see the problem they are talking about?
  8. The half moon on the CAS is fine, and the 3 bolts you can see are secured. Im yet to see what the bracket inside looks like. Has any one had this before?
  9. Hi guys, I took my car to get the air/fuel ratios checked out on the dyno and the PFC checked today. Turns out i have a "walking CAS?" they say thing the backing plate the CAS bolts to is loose some how so my timming is changing every now and then, even though visiually it is bolted and doesnt move. Has any one experienced this or know why or what is involved in fixing it? Thanks

  11. The only shop tomorrow likley to take me charges 120p/h dyno time and their labour is $75p/h , not cheap. So i will quiz them about checking it. Ideally i will be taking it some where else, but that some where else needs to be booked in advance, theire time is gold but well worth it.

  13. Thanks for the info guys, I was of the assumtion that if it had low knock and the car sounded and felt right it should be ok? If the Air/fuel was lean wouldnt that cause a knock reading? What if i erased the tune and ran the base maps? would htat be any safer? I might enquire about gettgin it checked tomorrow, jsut dont wanna spend money as trying to save for a turbo then get it tuned. Cheers
  14. Hey guys i just purchased a power fc with hand controller. The pfc has a tune that was done by hitman on a r33 with the same mods as mine. I tested it and the max knock i could get floggin it at 10pm tonight was 25. It only got 25 onlce, mostly would be arounfd 14-18 knock. Going by this ruff diagnosis will this tune be fine for me to use for 5 weeks till i can afford a decent tune if i monitor knock? I plan to wait till i buy a turbo then get the whole lot tuned.     Lol yeah it would be easy and it woulndt be stealing haha. Seriously tho if we where to get that far we would need a planned tactiful approach. IF any one actually wants to band to gether to do soemthing about it on the down low pm me. I am not suggesting anything illeagle, just put heads to gether to hopefully help or prevent things happening next time.

    the theft of the GTR down the coast may be linked, prob same guys. It was also taken from a shopping centre. I cant wait till they get some one with a tracking device so we can bust these guys. I am seriosuly scared its only a matter of time till some one attempts to steal my r33. Real sorry to hear it got flogged mate.
  19. It should be ok if everything else is fine. IF u get any more knock keep and eye on it but i dont see it making any adverse effect at all. I think it would be fine to drive around fo ra monht till u get it tuned
  20. SLIDE is selling link ecus, direct plug ins as i understand. I dont know any thing about them or how they compare but might be worth a look?
  21. There was a PFC wiht handcontrolle rfor 1k second hand on the sau forums today. !! I know htey are expensive compared to new price 3 months ago. Good luck wiht what u end up with mate, make sure u get it tuned by some one reputable that isnt going to over time susequently causing it to blow up.
  22. Just block it off mate, that will be fine, cops are only concerend cause its venting to atmo. U can safley block that sid eoff as ur other hoses let the crank case pressure escape. Personally its a good excuse for catch can. Quick fix block it off
  23. Man i just read my post, i need to take care with my accuracy. Im suprised u guys can read it :S Yeah tube and finn should be good, least it will be a lil different to the 100's of bar and plates u see out there.
  24. no it wont, for rb25det u dont use the karman sensor wire. If you where to wire it up to knock to attempt to get a knock read out it wont work. I had the same dilemea when i purchased a neo, best bet is get a safc2 that has knock read out or go all the way and get a aftermaket ecu
  25. Ive had a bar and plate and adelta fin. I thin th edelta fin is a better item, simillar to tube adn finn as i understand. Now if i could do it over i would get a kit that uses the stock engine bay pipes like the blitz one! , I had this set up on my first and r33, my current r33 has a hybrid style piping route. I believe the blitz style piping keeps air temps cooler. going by the feel of heat on the cooler when u touch it , my first set up like the blitz was noticably cooler to touch than the common hybrid style of piping.
