  1. Changing up to an r34 gtt intercooler on an R32 or 33 is a legal modification if you read the regulations carefully. It is in the same positiion and is of the same type.
  2. Well you probably still have the rb20 actuator with the R34 turbo, so the minimum boost you can make is about 10psi. Below that the boost controller wont do anything. Set it for 13psi...
  3. Remember the r32 gtr intercooler is painted black from the factory. In the book 21st Century Performance they found removing the stock black paint from an r32 GTR cooler made the cooler work LESS efficiently. I think black paint would be a good idea if you can apply a nice thin coat (and only 1).
  4. Yeah the warranty won't be worth the paper its printed on... If you try to make a claim, they will just say its modified which breaches the warranty conditions. Even if they sold you the car already modified. I got a warranty when I bought my car, and reading through the clauses and conditions you realise that you will never get money out of them. You have already mentioned the car has a heavy duty clutch, there goes the warranty policy already....
  5. gotta sell cause Grandma's not into Pimpin' and wants her garage back. Classic!!

    Scenic Drives

Maybe keep heading past frankston, head to the coast at Mornington, go South along the Esplanade, around the mini-GOR at Mt Martha, wave to me sitting at home, go under the new tunnel at Martha Cove (you get to drive under the water!) all the way down to Aurthurs Seat, go up and down Authurs seat a few times. A nice 2-3 hour drive.
  7. I love that basil in a tube... I'm a 6th year uni student, doing Bachelor Engineering(Mechanical)/ Bachelor of Arts at Monash Clayton. Work at a pub in Mornington and for the last 2 years was working for Champion Compressors in Hallam (sort of work experience). Hopefully graduating this year so onto bigger and better things next year - and paying off a lot of debt. And finally getting some money to reward my car for its 3 years of problem-free dedicated service! Rhett
  8. Yeah my r32 has 60th anniversary interior cloth, driving lights and spoiler - these were all options on the normal type-M! Seems like its just a number of standard options banged together with a special key.
  9. zomgwtfbbqwings! thats funny as.
  10. No compliance required in NZ... And no cats either.. Its still NZ though
  11. There were cars everywhere, by law there is traffic congestion (like on every highway at 4pm onwards!) you can legally use both lanes... I dont understand why to keep trying to turn this around into somehow myself causing this? I know there are way to many Skyline owners who complain when they get caught speeding or have illegal mods etc etc.. but there is no way I was or did anything wrong in this situation! Rhett
  12. I get it, its blank!! Haha, can't they afford ink? I might print it off and use it as a spare piece of blank paper.
  13. OK let me clear this up for you SKY031: Mooroduc Highway, speed limit 100, dual lane. I was driving along at 100 in the right hand lane, when the tradies pulled out in front of me from the left lane (also doing 100km/h) and slammed their brakes on. A few minutes down the road they were behind me again, due to them changing lanes etc. At 100km/h, they tailgated me (about 1-2m behind my car) for approx 1 km. I then did the 'tap the brakes' trick to try to get them to back off. It didnt work they just stayed there. So i sped up slowly to pull away from them and they continued to stick on my arse, within 3m at up to 140km/h or so. I slowed down again as we were coming to an intersection. They then got into the left lane and drove alongside me. The driver pulled out a broom handle or something, stuck it out his window and swerved his car towards mine, causing me to swerve as well. At this point i was scared, and decided the best thing to do was to get the fu(k out there and make sure they didnt follow me. So i sped off and turned at a round about where i could see there was no way they could follow me. Next time it happens i'll be sure to report it, at the time i was so involved with trying to get out of the situation i didnt get the rego number or anything. A quick anonomous call to the EPA about their loud, smokey exhaust and the lit cigarette butts they threw out the windows would quite annoy them too. If it can be done to us, we can do it back. Rhett
  14. Side skirts in poor condition suit gtst $50 So are these GTST sideskirts or GTR side skirts? And what do you mean by poor condition? Do you have the rear pods too? If so can i get some better pics pmed or to xrhettx at hotmail dot com? Thanks
  15. Yeah thanks guys. Firstly - Justin its Tanti Park - its an ex-housing commission suburb. My best mate lived there when we were in high school, it was a pretty rough place back then (and still is a bit now). Secondly - Jarrod, good to hear from you again. The last SAU event i got to was the Ice dyno day last year.. I've been in Colorado USA for 5 months, just got back in April. Was a heap of fun, working, snowboarding and a bit of travel. Yeah ive had my GT badges stolen twice, once outside Centrelink (a bit stereotypical i know) and once at uni in Clayton. And hey i grew up down here so we're not all bad!!
  16. Hey all, after being involved in another incident today I felt compelled to post... Firstly, Im currently living down on the Mornington Peninsula (and owning an r32), which seems to have its positives and negatives. The major positive I feel is the lack of Police attitude and attention. I have never been pulled over or harassed by the police for driving an import, never defected, never even been asked to lift the bonnet. I've even been let off twice when pulled over for speeding! But over the last 3 years there have been 4 occasions when I have been threatened by tradies and bogans whilst simply driving: A few years ago 2 guys in a Lancer, annoyed after i wouldn't "drag" them, burned off, did a u-turn and drove towards me head-on in my lane. I had to swerve off the road, both our cars were travelling at more than 70km/h - certain death if i hadnt pulled away. I have also had a guy throw beer cans at my car at traffic lights yelling "you think your good with your shtbox jap crap etc...." Then a few weeks ago I had two tradies cut me off, then tailgate me (within 1 metre) at 100km/h, up to 150km/h, then try to run me off the road. I was truely scared for my life! Today i had an idiot drive through busy traffic just so he could pull up beside me and stick his finger up at me.... So is this something that I just have to deal with living in an area full of bogans and fu(knoses? Maybe its because they're jealous of young guy driving a nice car (its a fu9king stock r32 gtst for christs sake and im 23, not like im on my Ps or anything!) Has anyone else been the recipient of this anti-skyline, anti-import sentiment? I'm sick of this sh!t Rhett Sorry bout the long post and all.
  17. Sorry but this is wrong: Most R32s have the black/grey cloth interior. There was a lighter grey velour option available - more like the GTR style. There was also a black leather option I've been told. You cant tell from the cloth if an r32 is series 1 or 2. Rhett
  18. Well it looks better than an R33 GTS25t... I actually like it.
  19. Makes me want to know what it used to be called that caused him all the hassles?
  20. The idea is that they dont - they dont want the hassle of insuring an import to a young driver when there are plenty of 40 year olds driving VT commodores out there they can easily make their money off.
  21. I think i might get mine checked out, ive got tiny bits of rust forming around the drivers side rear wheel arch.... wish me luck!
  22. Yeah i think racv quoted me $15k or so a few years ago - basically they dont insure them.
  23. My deepest condolences to you and your friend's family. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=102548
  24. Yeah i agree with Dark - do luck type 2. Hard to find though - i think xspeed in WA have them. Also, ive never seen one in person on a car so it would be interesting to see how low they are... Id love to keep a just legal ride height at the front!
  25. When i was 21 and also rating 3 just cars quoted me $1700 for my R32 gtst - they were the best around, noone would match that price. But i live in a pretty safe suburb and have never had a fine or anything.. The next year it went down to $1200 and this year it was $900 at rating 1.
