  1. I love lamp. So, anyone actually going to the ICE dyno day or is this one going to be cancelled/indefinately postponed too?
  2. A few of my mates were involved in the final on-road testing of the BFs a month or so ago. All reports from them have been positive. I think they're pretty good. Ive got a vid of "some guy" doing a 0-230km/h run in the BF GT-P, its pretty quick. (Apparently theres a 230km/h speed limiter) But of coarse Im not going to show anyone, for legal reasons ;-)
  3. I would never trust ANY odometer, its a much surer bet to simply look at the overall condition of the car (the interior, under the bonnet and at the body itself). Anyway, a thrashed 50 000km car is no way better than a well-looked after 150 000km car.
  4. Depends what you are comparing it with. If you wanted a VT SS commodore or something i guess the insurance would be pretty similar?
  5. So how old exactly are you? 18? or older? There is a big difference between being 18 and a bit older. Also, do you have an insurance history, (a no-claims bonus or rating?) That will help too. And forget about putting it in your parents name or being listed as a part time driver, IMPORT INSURANCE DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT. If you are listed, even as a part driver, they will base the quote on you driving it the whole time. To give you some idea, i have an r32 gtst and it cost me: Age: 21 Rating: 3 (40% ncb) Value: $16500 Cost: $1700 Age: 22 Rating: 2 (50% ncb) Value: $16000 Cost: $1200 Age: 23 Rating: 1 (60% ncb) Value: $15000 Cost: $900 So there you go.
  6. No you wont get done, they need a photo of you running the red light and another of you continuing through the intersection.
  7. Isnt the only difference between M12x1.25 and M12x1.5 that one is 0.25 longer?
  8. R32 all day long. I'd even go an R32 GTSt over an R33 GTSt. And I have. IMHO the r33 gtst are the uglist "sporty model" skyline there is.
  9. Mate there were a lot of skylines before the R31, including the DR30 that had a four cylinder. It'll be a twin turbo v8 with attesa 4wd. And a drinks cooler in the glovebox.
  10. I'll be in Aspen, Colorado with two mates trying to hook into some Paris Hilton-esque billionaire heiresses... I went to Pyramid Rock festival last year, it was the best new years' i've ever had. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is sick of new years being disappointing. It was awesome, really relaxing not having to worry about taxis, door lists, lining up for drinks, and being able to camp there until 5pm the next day.
  11. I second the Jaycar. Its the cheapest and the best. Make sure you get one that uses the solenoid to completely block off the air flow to the actuator, they work the best in terms of reducing wastegate creep to the lowest possible.
  12. My r32 gtst has 17x9 +38 on the back, 235 tyres, works perfect.
  13. My car was imported through SEI a few years ago, its an alright place, not too dodgy. Should see the 2 massive rotweilers the guy keeps in the office. Scary... Make sure the timing belt has been changed, it looks like it has the sticker saying it has. (silver on cam cover) It should have the km's when it was changed written on it. If it hasnt been done you'll be looking at a $500 service straight up.
  14. Yeah, up to $3000.
  15. I know with my r32 the hole through the firewall is quite substantial, the hardest bit is getting the wires through the rubber boot, i jammed them through and used a coat hanger.
  16. Wouldn't the increase in cross-sectional area be the important characteristic when comparing brake hoses?
  17. Perfect spot for a maglite torch. Or maybe a rocket flare. hmmm.
  18. So here i was running late for work today, left Hampton at 9.15am to start work in Mornington at 10am. Needless to say i went down the Nepean Highway and didnt make it to work on time. Damn hippies, running and riding bikes instead of driving...

  20. That sounds super illegal... and really bad for the hole in the ozone layer
  21. Im about to fit one to my r32 gtst, what did you want to know in particular?
  22. I dont know if this will suit you, and im not really answering any of your questions, but there was a thread a while ago about a company that sells wide band AFR meter kits that you build yourself. They were pretty cheap from what i remember (<$300), maybe do a search? I cant remember what they were called.
  23. Hate to tell you but your car wont be a 94 model, they didnt make r32 gtst in 94, they finished up mid 93.
  24. Im pretty sure a factory turbo timer was an option on R32s.
  25. Hey all, now that these earthing kits are now $50 delivered, (including 5 cables) do they represent good value? My idle seems to drop a fair bit when i turn the lights on and when winding windows up and down, if i can get all the bits and pieces i need for $50 at my door, ill do something about it. Otherwise i'll just live with it! (as im really slack eg. had my Jaycar IEBC and DFA kits completed for 4 months and still havent put them in my car. Probably could have paid for them over with the fuel i would have saved.)
