  1. Well first i thought it meant Rotary Hemi Electronic injection Twin Turbo Then i realised it is just my first name wih Xs each side, like straight edge hardcore guys used to do back in the day. Hardcore as in music. Ive been working for the last 2 years doing autocad and Proengineer. I can also use SolidEdge pretty well and work is soon changing over to Unigraphics, so ill soon have that down pretty well soon. I can also use Fluent for performaing computational fluid dynamics problems and use Nastran/Femap for finite element analysis. Hows that sound?
  2. I wouldnt put the spacers on if you are going to get a defect cleared - arent they defectable? Also, going from 17s to 18s probably wont increase ur ride height. Maybe borrow some stock dump pipes for the test?
  3. Hey thats a great price but they dont cost over $250. I have built the three kits aswell, took me a few days. Good luck with the sale.
  4. Apparently my SSR Integral wheels weigh 8kg for the front 17x8" and 8.2kg for the 17x9" on the rear. There is a website something like www.wheelspecs.com or something that has weights and other specs for heaps of different wheels.
  5. They let you have unlimited "legal" mods. An electronic boost controller is illegal. I'd recommend taking your EBC off before they get to see the car in future. Your brother was pretty lucky i guess.
  6. I think he means that they over charged him $130, then the next day they refunded the money to him. This happens at my work quite often, if you are overcharged they will just refund you the money. Also, if you arent charged enough, if we notice we will just put it through on your credit card anyway. I work at a hotel and heaps of people leave and forget to pay for a breakfast or a few drinks etc, so you just charge them, even if they arent there to sign the receipt. So you are saying you want to sue them for nothing? You have your money, are you claiming for pain and suffering or something?
  7. No but at the end of next year I'll be applying for a job (first year mech eng graduate) so make sure you keep telling the HR manager that skyline drivers make the best employees...
  8. I cant see how anyone can complain about having to go 40 outside of a primary school. I think its a great idea. But then again I dont live near any zones that change to 40 that arent around a school.
  9. Well the car shouldnt run bad with the SAFC installed and not tuned, as it will be doing nothing. It only starts changing the AFR once it is tuned. Unless you put it in wrong.
  10. Puts on best Yoda voice: A search you must do, lots of info found can be...
  11. Keep the stock BOV, if you want some sound get a pod filter. I wouldnt run double the stock boost. Stock boost on an r32 (with an exhaust) is about 10psi and with an r33 its 7psi. Running anymore than about 12psi without extra mods like an aftermarket filter and front mount intercooler is not smart.
  12. Ive got an r33 gtst stock solenoid that im going to be using for my Jaycar IEBC. In the instructions, it says that most boost solenoids only work ONE WAY around. I powered up the solenoid with 12V so i could hear it clicking, and with a large syringe applied pressure to the hose going to the top inlet. When i applied the 12V, it opened, releasing the pressure from the syringe. So, Im almost 100% sure the top inlet goes to the pressure source and the bottom one (the one in the middle) goes to the actuator. Hope that helps.
  13. Ive got one too, works fine. Daiken/exedy are the same company. Dont worry about it.
  14. In Vic you cant have an oiled filter. But a pod doesnt have to be in a box. But you cant have a pod and an intercooler. It would help if you say which state you are in before you ask questions about legality of mods, as all states have their own rules.
  15. Rad, ill have to check it out, just down the road from my house... sick of eating subway.
  16. Your loss, personally i'd sort it out now.
  17. Your car already has a BOV. If you want sound, install a pod filter. Its cheaper than buying a BOV, you get a performance increase, you have no problems with bad idling and its legal (in some states).
  18. I was speaking to a friend of mine who works in the insurance industry, and she was of the opinion that legally an insurance company cannot offer you insurance if they know that you arent eligable for it. That is, in this case, Just Cars knows that your car is over the limit and knows you are on your Ps, so the cant offer you insurance if they wont pay out in the case of an accident. Someone should really just ring them or something and ask.
  19. Yeah I guess i'll be there. Im going to vote for myself for the "Best Other" award. Because i'm the best. Or is it only for cars? ;-)
  20. Does the back of the turbo look like the pic posted above? If so the BTMBL dump will work, it may just need a little modification if the exhaust housing is not exactly the same as the stock turbo.
  21. Everyone complaining of squeeling brakes, did you bed the pads in when you fitted them? If you changed rotors, did you bed them in again then? Ive got RB74 up front, after bedding them in they havent squeeled since, until i had my rotors changed. After doing the bedding in proceedure again all was fine.
  22. So did the timing belt snap or was it just set in the wrong position?
  23. The lambda or oxygen sensor screws into your dump pipe.
  24. Get an r32, a stock non-turbo S13 silvia is hella ugly.
  25. Well i looked in my issue of Speed magazine (the pink one with the story on the SAU-Vic Great Ocean Road cruise.. And the 890kW 260RS Stagea has a big SWAT sticker on the back... That website is pretty funny 2006.6.19 The mini- tour which eats marine products ones was The same place as last year? It seems that is (laughing)
