  1. Yeah mine doesnt fit my r32 gtst either. Apparantly the easiest thing to do is to get a really cheap one that fits from Auotbarn etc and take the nylon/plastic insert out from the middle and fit it to the Nismo gear knob. But i dont know how ur meant to get the plastic out, its stuck in pretty hard, maybe even glued.
  2. I think your filename sums it up nicely: "shitwelds.jpg" Shit welding, looks like it doesnt penetrate through the pipe. The welds i would have thought would be cleaned up especially on the inside, where they will substantially negatively effect the air flow. That take off for the BOV is an absolute joke! (im guessing thats what its meant to be?) I hope your piping is not indicative of the quality of the piping thats regularly on sale on these forums. I could make a better set of pipes and ive only done about an hour of weldin gin my life! Get a refund, and demand that they pay for the postage as well.
  3. Recaro in Chesterville Rd Cheltenham? Im sure they install seats...
  4. I wish someone sold these for R32 gtst... hint hint Free bump.
  5. Mines_Datsun = awesome! He should be in that ad where the family are at the Hall of Fame in the future and there are big posters of Skaifey and Bert Newton and a big one of Mines_Datsun...
  6. Hey IOWNU, Id have a close look at ur insurance policy if you're driving a skyline which the insurance is in a parents name. Most insurance companies (like just cars) will not pay if you are not listed on the insurance policy. And if you are listed they will increase the premium by a heap.
  7. Is it the same for R32 gtst? Mine is nowhere even close to fitting. Also, how the hell do you pull the centre nylong insert out? Mine is stuck in pretty hard.
  8. It comes down at speed to lower the amount of air going under the front of the car, this increases aerodynamic efficiency and downforce (more grip). It goes up at low speed because aerodynamics dont matter much at low speed (drag coefficent is proportional to velocity squared) and you will probably break it off on a gutter etc.
  9. Are you using the multimeter properly? The pic you posted is all good. When you vary the pot, the voltage measured across the input wire (green) and the earth wire (black) should vary also, from very small up to 12V.
  10. Yeah apply 12V to the solenoid and see if i clicks over, you will be able to hear it.
  11. My premium last year was $1200, im up again this month so hopefully it will be about $800, if not ill give them a call and get them to reassess me. Ill be 23, rating 1 (60% no claim bonus), insured for agreed value of about $16k, a few listed mods living about an hour out of melbourne, r32 gtst. My first year of insurance was $1700 when i was 21, so it dropped $500 in one year, im hoping for the same drop this year.
  12. This might be a stupid question but isnt VVT only on the r34 Neo engines, and not the r33 rb25det? So your adjuster mod can only be used on cars fitted with VVT?
  13. Yeah i cant see it either...
  14. The DFA has to be actually "on" to get any output, so if you set the DFA to turn on at 14 volts (car running condition) you need to apply 14V to get any output.
  15. Yeah i did the same as flagger, works perfect. I used a steak knife.
  16. At the start of the year i bought DBA4909SR and SL rotors for $223 each inc GST. That was the best price i could get at the time, from ABS brakes.
  17. If you must go NA, try to find on of the late R32 GTS that came out with th e R33 NA RB25DE engine. You get the looks and light weight of the r32, with the extra capacity of the r33 engine!
  18. The only way i can fit my surfboard in my r32 is by folding the front passenger seat all the way back and putting my board on the seat. Its pretty crap when I take a mate surfing, they have to sit behind me in the back seat, as the boards take up the rest of the room. Might have to get some of those removable roof racks.
  19. My Type_M doesnt have the top front bar either, it has the middle one. So lets start calling the top one the "Aero option" bar rather than the "type_M" bar.
  20. Yeah i got a free RB25DET upgrade! Cheapest mod ever!
  21. Yeah the text is way way way too small. And i think we need the post preview thing back (as stated above).. This was what differentiated us from those nissan silvia louts! It saves heaps of time otherwise spent trawling through endless posts of people wanting rad BOV sounds and asking the difference between a skyline and a silvia etc etc. Especially if you are still on dialup.
  22. I'd assume that if at all possible that each individual component would be balanced seperately, then they would be assembled and balanced again as a whole. This way it would keep the material that would have to be removed to a minimum. The flywheel would probably not be balanced to a high precision straight from the factory, as all manufacturing processes are less than ideal, and most people probably wouldn't be keen on paying an extra $100 for a closely-balanced flywheel.
  23. Wouldnt a wrecker be a good place to start? No one really wants them and the come in a fair bit on half cuts, so you should be able to get a good original (plastic not crappy fibreglass) Type-M front bar pretty cheap. But remember the Type-M front bar was an option even on the Type-M so not all of them will have the bar you are after (the one with the little vents along the bottom of the lip.)
  24. If anyone cares, DBA4909 are also be used on R32 GTSt. So it then follows that S1 stagea front discs are the same as R32 gtst discs. That might help if you are looking for cheap secondhand replacement discs.
