Ive got a keypad alarm (as in have to type in a number to start the car). It means they cant start the car even if they have the keys. Cost $70 or so from jaycar, + professional installation. Its not foolproof but it gives you that little bit of extra confidence when you have to leave ur keys on the beach etc.

Hey, not sure if i fit the bill exactly but here i go: Age 22 At uni doing mech eng, 1 year to go of of 6 year degree. Have been working casually as a student mech. engineer for the last 2.5 years. Usually work 1 day per week, but sometimes anywhere between 1 and 5 days per week. Also work another casual job at the same time, not in eng. field. If you want the flutter sound, you can just block off the standard BOV, it will make the sound. Its not good for the car, the flutter noise is the sound of the BOV not doing its job. Everytime i hear a car with a BOV that flutters, i laugh. Who would pay money to do something to their car that damages it? If you want more info on this, do a search on flutter. This topic comes up at least once a week.

On the bright side, at least now its got that "one headlight up/ one headlight down" look thats currently cool amongst 180sx drivers!

IMHO stock i awesome, just get a pod filter and it'll be loud enough. If it starts to leak get a stiffer spring for it. easy to solve.

Mate, i dont know anything, except i put about 4.5L in my R32 GTSt and it works fine... :-) I usually use motul turbolight if i can find it.

In Julian Edgars book 21st centuary performance, i think he found when he stripped the black paint from his r32 gtr intercooler the outlet temp from the intercooler increased by 2 degrees. Therefore leave it black or paint it.

No i dont think any of the rims will fit, mine are 17x9.0" +38 on the rear and its a squeeze, they dont fit under the guards.

What car do you have? Im pretty sure that about 4.5 litres will do most skylines, with filter change.

Its funny that you say that Andrew because my girlfriend works at Teds so i guess im a bit biased. She is extremely knowledgable about dig cams, knows all the spec and features etc. I guess you get people who dont know anything wherever you go. Just try to speak to someone who has worked there for a while, had a chance to build up their knowledge base.

IMHO a camera shop like Teds is good if you want good advice and sales people who actually know about the stuff their selling. Much better than places like JB hifi or wherever, might get a slightly cheaper price but you'll end up with something you didnt really want if ur not careful.

There is a thread in the stagea part of the forum about the DFA and boost controller, sydneykid has used both and got fantastic results.

Mine is starting to do this aswell, but only under heavy load (like when accelerating from 70-100km/h on the fwy). I think ill just try to get away with it for a while longer until i can afford a new clutch. For your info my car has never had any boost increase, so im pretty sure its just the 15 year old clutch (at least in my case)

Maybe look out for a second hand HKS split dump pipe? Should be able to pick one up for less than $300.

Phhffff... Thats not stretching, my 235/45/17 are on 9" wide wheels, theyre fine. Had mine fitted today, feel heaps better than my old tyres (silverstone sport crap). The guy at the shop said prices were going up by 5% today (1st of april). Not sure if he was just saying that to get me to order them quickly or if he was telling the truth.

Im pretty sure they dont let you use a silencer at all unless it is fully welded in, look on the vicroads website, it covers everything in the modification guide. just do a search.

Why not get a combo 3" dump/front pipe from batmbl for $250 all up? Its all about numbers, its very expensive to make a one off exhaust system, why not get one thats already made? Or do you have an aftermarket turbo?

No it wont fit under, i have 9" +38 wheels on the back of mine and with 235/45/17 tyres streched on, they only just fit under the guards. My car is lowered with stiff suspension and there is about 10mm gap between the tyres and the guards at the rear. They never rub, but if my suspension moved more than about 2cm they would rub. Never had any problem with police, but my wheels dont stick out from the guards, they just dont fit UNDER them. ;-)

Just quote the purchase price, if they think its too low, they'll send you a letter. But as the car is moe than 15 years old, they probably wont care. When i bought my r32 2 years ago for $16.5k, they wrote me a letter saying that was too cheap! Ends up they looked up the aus delivered R32 GTR as its the only skyline on the system. I just wrote them a letter back and it was all fine.
