  1. Do you have an aftermarket boost gauge? If not, do you realise the stock gauge is not in psi, its in x100mmHg? 4-5 is about normal then.
  2. Black has a higher absorbtivity and a higher emissivity than all other colours. This means it absorbs more heat, as well as emitting more, it has nothing to do with being in the sun or whatever. The black colour will make it emit heat better, just as long as you dont put too much paint on and fill in the gaps in the cooler core.
  3. Anyone who has a angle-mounted intercooler has to be a pretty keen drift fan. And it looks from the state of the seat that it has been used in that way for quite a few years, and often.
  4. The Intercooler will probably work better painted black, the author of the 21st centuary performance book found that his r32 gtr lost a few kilowatts when he stripped the paint off.
  5. $1.23 for Optimax in Frankston, melbourne on Friday night.
  6. Im in for an r32 copy, please pm me when its all ready to go. Cheers, Rhett
  7. Just cars definately, dont do the internet quote thing, just give them a call, its heaps cheaper. Last year i was 21, rating 3, r32 GTST insured for $16.5k with exhaust and wheels, and full comp cost me $1700. This year 22, rating 2, $16.2k, costing me $1200. Just cars will be the cheapest, believe me.
  8. If you can, go down to Dromana to do your test, its the easiest test location ever. Definately get a lesson and do it in the instructor's car. Make sure you stop for at least 3 seconds at stop signs, even if it is safe to go.
  9. You put a dog in the boot? There's the problem... ;-)
  10. Maybe the hose from the manifold to the boost guage has come off? That won't help idling much, there is air being lost that the AFM has already taken account of. THis happened with my R32, the hose had split and blown off.
  11. It definately looks like an automated response scam, it never mentions anything specific about your car or even "your country." This message could have been sent to every person advertising on Carsales or whatever. Id even go as far as to complain to carsales, or at least tell them about it, see what they can do to stop it happening again.

    Brakes

For that price i think he must have just got the standard slotted rotors, not the 4000 series.

    Brakes

I emailed Racebrakes about some prices a few weeks ago, and this is what i got back from them. All for R32 Gtst Type M: DBA Long life Gold (slotted and drilled): DBA909x $210.00 each (Front) DBA908x $225.00 each (Rear) DBA Standard: DBA908sl $193.60 each (rear slotted) DBA908 $185.00 each (rear normal) DBA 4000 Series: DBA4909 & DBA4908 $194 EACH (normal) DBA4908SL/SR & DBA4909SL/SR $246 EACH (slotted) DBA4908XS & DBA4909XS $300 EACH (slotted and drilled) There you go, I think im going to go the longlife golds for the front, because i dont do any track work and dont have the money for the 4000's. Rhett
  14. Done.. I am wrong, we both are actually, legally you can have any diameter wheel on a car as long as the overall diameter of the wheel and tyre is no more than 15mm different to the stock diameter. As far as width of wheels, i was right, 25mm wider than widest stock wheel. Now i will stop post whoring. ;-)
  15. Thats cool, i didnt know that r32 vspecs came with 17s but now i think i remember seeing them around.
  16. Yeah i love ringing up and dobbing in old grandma's that drive to slow - bloody hoons! I considered ringing up the other day because i saw a guy in a ford with custom plates through about 3 bags of macca's out the window at the traffic lights, but i settled with just calling him bad names.
  17. 18 inch rims are definately illegal on R32s, not sure about other models. You are only allowed to increase diameter and width my 1 inch from the standard rims. It says so on the vic roads website. As long as ur sensible and dont go driving around the city or dandenong or wherever every friday/saturday night, you wont have a problem with the police, except for maybe that cop that everyone hates.
  18. hehe... so true

    March Super Turbo

The march super turbo was reviewed in HPI magazine a few months back, look pretty cool.
  20. I know r32s are meant to be 4.3 litres, put im sure R33s are similar, and putting a bit in extra wont hurt.
  21. Al rotors start to do this once they get worn down a bit. You probably just need to get ur discs machined. It'll cost about $25-30 per disc.
  22. $16.5k one year ago local sale. Pretty stock, just exhaust, suspension filter etc
  23. I live in Bentleigh and or Mt Martha, depending on the weather etc...
  24. I have also done this course, i think the same time as Chris. All I can say is that it was excellent and quickly bought me down to earth regrading my driving ability. (or should i say disability!) To all those people who say that these classes only encourage bad driving and over confidence, you are wrong. Any education is good education, how are you meant to undertake an emergency braking manuveour in the wet, such as stopping in the wet from 60km/h in 15 metres whilst changing lanes, when you have never done it before? Do this course. Rhett
  25. I went to the cops when my badges got stolen, although they didnt catch the kids that did it (not that i expected them to), i still reckon everyone should bother telling the police about it. Perhaps if everyone tells the cops when their badges get nicked, next time you get pulled over it could be the cop you dealt with or else they may cut you some slack because "you import drivers always get your badges stolen, ill let you off this time..." etc..
