  1. Is there anywhere in Melbourne that can do a service like this? Nissan FTG? Whenever I go to Ice for a service they just say "what would you like done?" And I say whatever you think, i dont know, and they just do the oil, filter and maybe the plugs. I mean Ice are good, but i cant see them lubricating my door hinges and tightning my suspension and subframe.
  2. I thought to be roadworthy any aftermarket wheels could only be 1 inch wider or larger diameter than the stock wheels, therefore only 17 inches by 8. But then again i have 17 x 9 on my R32 and it passed a RWC.
  3. Hehe this is so funny. Cul202 is right. Post the dyno chart and then we can see what you actually got, maybe u r reading the wrong scale on the graph? It sounds like you are reading out ur max rpm, if you are looking on the right hand scale?
  4. Some have 6inch as stock as well, pretty sure there were a few levels of audio gear available as options. Mine have 6x4s though
  5. Who uses newtons on a dyno? You should be given a torque reading in Netwon-metres. The only thing i think you could do is multiply the force in Newtons (6000) by the radius of ur wheels (about 0.30m?) to get a torque of 1800Nm, but that doesnt sound right.
  6. So, happen to have any vacation work experience available for a budding mechanical engineer currently completing 3rd year at Monash?
  7. Ill be there withmy $50 as i have missed all the other meetings. I also know that they sell fake vortexes at the Warehouse at the moment for i think $3.00
  8. Just thought I'd say that despite the worst weather possible, the driving course was heaps of fun and I learned a few things as well. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone else considering doing a advanced/defensive driving course. Thanks Kev. And wasnt the green soarer an absolute beast!
  9. Im a 4th year Mechanical Engineering/Arts student. I also work at a pub in Mornington And I work as a student engineer at Champion Compressors, Australia's premier air compressor company: www.championcompressors.com.au
  10. The factory plastic GTR bar fits of a gtst, ive seen a few cars with them on. But if your buying a fibreglass aftremarket bar, you will have to get one specifically made for a GTSt
  11. Ive jump started my car about 5 times, I keep leaving the lights on and dont hear the warning beep because of the turbo timer. Nothings gone wrong yet.
  12. There is now an Australian distributer for Work Wheels www.workcompany.com.au 1300 725 555 Taken from the latest issue of HPI
  13. Ill be there on Saturday, who else?
  14. The first thing id be doing is getting a couple of pod filters! And those wheels look awesome, i vote keep them.
  15. Mine is noticable too, but when i have the radio turned on you can really hear it, it interferes with the electric signal to the speakers/or the radio reception.
  16. Correct me if im wrong, but isnt that exactly what a turbo does? If its an electric fan sort of thing, where are you going to get the kilowatts of power required? Isnt that why you have an exhaust housing of a turbo, to drive the impellor?
  17. Apparently the Nissan Patrol Heavy Duty clutches fit and are cheap. But maybe thats just an urban myth.
  18. Aftermarket wheels can be maximum 1 inch larger diameter or width than stock wheels, so the police are in the right. Tough but its on the vicroads website for everyone to see.
  19. Kev, you have mail again. Book me in for the Saturday session.
  20. Only got $300 back, straight to the bank for when insurance is due in 2 months.
  21. Im pretty interested on doing the course on the saturday, ill give you a call when definate.
  22. Ive got the nissan one still, but the GTSt sticker is long gone. Maybe because they are that bit older? Advances in glue technology?
  23. Whereabouts in Melbourne is it? I looked on your web site but cant seem to find an address. Might be interested in doing the course if its convieniently located.
  24. I used to surf all winter down here in Vic and found that i could last almost 2 hours until i couldnt use my hands anymore if i wore a 4/3 steamer and a thermal top underneath. If you dont have a thermal top, just a tshirt will do, as it really only needs to hold the warm water in. One of my mates used to surf with us when it was like 10 degrees in the water wearing only boardies and 2 rash vests!
