  1. Sorry, but there is definately a 260RS in melbourne already. It came in under the old import scheme though, if that's what you mean about yours being the first under the new scheme. There was a write-up on it in HPI a few years ago.
  2. I think you mean the rear pods? The little bits that go behind the rear wheel?
  3. 3rd party fire and theft only really covers for up to $6000 in case of theft, minus excess, so its not really worth having if ur car gets stolen. $5000 wont get you much of another R34 Gtt.
  4. Thanks, now im glad i didnt force a screwdriver underneath the speak grills to pop them off.
  5. Wouldn't torque be a better measure of the average output of your engine? As power is simply a product of torque and (sort of) rpm, isnt torque a better measure of the ability of your car to speed up, being rpm independant? Or is the average power just a figure for people who like to have a power figure to quote? Im probably wrong though.
  6. The Lamborghini will also be used to transport human organs for emergency operations. Haha yeah sure. It looks like something out of Demolition Man
  7. How would you get an inlet temp of below ambient? The cooling water would be at ambient, therefore the inlet temp could never be less than ambient. (Would never even reach ambient, will always have to be at least a litttle above.) Unless ur talking about putting ice in it, which is only a very very short term solution? Or am i wrong? Bar and plate and tube and fin are the most common types, they're really pretty similar.
  8. Hey, I know this has been covered for r33s multiple times, but i searched and couldnt find anything saying how to take the speaker grills off for an r32. Can i remove the grills, or do i have to remove the whole door trim? If its the whole door trim, any tips? Ive done it for my r31 and i imagine its pretty similar, but it looks like the grills are designed to come off seperately in the r32. Thanks, Rhett
  9. The best way to drift a vs commodore is to buy a new car. I hope you tell your mum that you take her drifting, im sure she would be very impressed.
  10. I get a pack of 2 minute noodles, and a can of baked beans, and mix them together in a bowl. Awesome!
  11. Vspec purple with gold glitter flakes
  12. I like QOO. I saw a japanese guy drinking it at uni and heard about it in HPI, so i was brave and tried it. Its actually quite nice, but its very sugary. It has over a megajoule of energy in it per drink. I suppose thats not that weird though.
  13. Ive never had a problem, id say its all about attitude - both of you and the cop that you're dealing with.
  14. Should make a drift beast - put rubber tyres up front and plastic wheels on the back.
  15. Im in!! I remember at my mates farm we'd hook up his billycart (which was a gokart with no engine) to the back of his dads 4WD with a towrope. Anf then drive around the paddocks drifting the billycart with the car going 50km. It was awesome until my mate got so sideways he got infront of the car backwards and the rope went slack. And then the car took up the slack and flipped the billy cart. The tow rope came off and the metal tow hook flicked up and smashed the windscreen. And my mate broke his arm. But it was so much fun...
  16. Mine pops sometimes when changing gears at 1/2 throttle. I like it, it sounds cool.
  17. Thanks, definately getting alignment looked at soon, and a balance.
  18. Yeah i need a balance and alignment, but not sure about taking it to tyrepower or bridgestone or wherever, ive heard a few bad stories about their "attemps" at working on skylines - stuffing up hicas etc. How is it cheaper in the long run to get new discs? It could be that my discs are too thin, the guy that did it for me didnt know the minimum thickness, he only had the GTR values, which are different. Thanks for your replies.
  19. Hey, My r32 seems to go through discs pretty fast, i had them done about 8000km ago as there was a heavy vibration under braking, a symptom of ur discs needing machining. The problem was fixed with the machining, as expected. I fitted some rb74 front pads about 2000km ago, and im already getting the vibration pretty badly again. So my question i guess is how oftern do you have to get ur brakes machined? Please state what pads ur using too, std or aftermarket. I dont think i brake excessively hard, but i do quite a few km is my car (500 a week easy) and its going to be damn annoying if i have to shell out $100 each 3 months for machining. Rhett
  20. DBA 5000s are only for GTRs unfortunately. But you can get DBA 4000s for all skyline models, look on: http://www.dba.com.au/catalogue/pdf/online...4000_online.pdf For an r33 gtst, the part numbers are 4963 for front, and 4908 for rear. You can get them in plain, slotted , crossdrilled or slotted and cross drilled.
  21. Thanks geoff, the book is on its way to my house already. I think ill look into that tafe course too, it might be fun to do after i finish my BEng(mech)/BArts next year. Thanks
  22. COngratulations!! My girlfriends parents own a red light camera company (operating in the USA not Aus, so dont hate me ) and they as you would expect, are quite versed in Aus traffic law. So i asked them about this and they said: If the photos showed you stopping in the intersection, even if you ran the red light, you are not guilty. You MUST go all the way through to be found guilty, hence the two photos taken by the camera. Well done on your win, but id say if you had spoken to a lawyer about this they would have told you that you had nothing to worry about. The self defence case may have worked as well, but im pretty sure you need to prove it. In the case given as an example (the guy that had to go through because of the ute or whatever), im pretty sure the photo from the camera showed the other car would have hit him.
  23. How much is redline lightweight shockproof? Is it much more expensive than the other two? I think its almost time for me to do my gearbox and diff oil, as i dont know if they were done for compliance or not. Cheers, Rhett
  24. Great post skylinegeoff. Im currently studying 3rd year mech eng and am also interested in getting into race engineering. How did you go about finding more info about getting into the field? Also, can you recommend any other books etc that are worthwhile to read on the topic?
