I thought the day was awesome, its one thing to watch it on a dvd but its a totally different feeling being there and hearing and smelling the drifting. Pity i also had to leave at 3 to go to work. Whoever is organising it, Id love a dvd copy of the footage! Cruise there was also fun, but i hope its the last time we all have to cruise down toorak rd! Those damn trams just jump out at you. Thanks to those who organised it.

Do not do this, the turbine blades will erode in a suprisingly short amount of time, if not disintegrate. It would be like running a car with no air filter and pouring in dirt on purpose, straight into the compressor. When a turbine blade is running, it doesnt matter what hits it, dirt or water or whatever, the result would be the same. Not good.

Im with SLY too, i think we wont make it by 10.30 if we leave at 10am, perhaps leave at 9.45? Dont want to get there late and not get our "pit access" passes.

I think all 4 wheels the same would always be the best, but usually there is a compromise between size, grip, cost etc. The only reason to put smaller wheels on the front is if the bigger size on the rears wouldnt fit, or if you wanted to save money. Your 8 would go well on your 32, ive got 17x8 with 225 on the front and 17x9 on the rear with 235 on my 32 and they look and feel good, but my rears do rub sometimes (as there is only 1cm clearance from guard to my tyre), but only over big bumps.

You could move to Vic where you dont have a choice of CTP insurer. It just says on your rego pay this much and if you think its too much then bad luck! But it sounds to me that competition isnt helping ur prices, in Vic CTP and rego together are between $400 and $550 per year, then you go and buy other insurance on top of that to protect ur car/other peoples cars.

How about a round tail light conversion? I might be dreaming but i swear i saw a pic of a wagon in japan with the conversion hanging around somewhere. It looked pretty cool. I had a silver r31 wagon until a month ago, urs is looking awesome!

Im pretty sure 300zx came convertible from the factory, i have seen a few of them around.

I came close to buying this one too when it was on the prestige mailing list, but wasnt quite ready to buy. It had everything i wanted but if only it came up a few months later. But im really happy with the car i have now anyway.

Every 1psi pressure drop across the cooler is 1 psi less boost your actually getting from your turbo. Say if your turbo is making 14psi and you have a crap truck cooler that has 4psi pressure drop, ur only actually getting 10psi. So get a proper cooler with the least pressure drop as possible, that also cools well, as every 4 degree drop in air inlet temp is 1% extra power.

im 21, rating 3, and my R32 gtst is insured through just cars for $16700 agreed value, i live in a pretty low risk suburb, and have never had a speeding fine or an accident. I paid $1700 this year. Im putting my money on ur brother paying $3500-4000.

As the topic says, some c*nt just stole my red GT badges. It either happened today at uni at monash in "castle greyskull" between 10am and 2pm, or outside centrelink in mornington (damn dole bludgin f**kers, i was only in there for 20mins). So it would be great if someone gets offered some badges for cheap, that look like they have been ripped off, if you could pm me. Or better still, break their legs then shove a shopping trolley up their ar5e! Ok, calming down now. Where can i get another set from for an ok price? Or is it not worth putting them back on, coz they will probably get stolen again. I think ill budget for replacing them every 12 months. Rant over, Rhett

funky is right, the wires are cut for compliance. Just get in there and resolder the wires, and then you wont look gay

The speed meter thingo was 2 km/h off what my speedo said when i went through on the cruise. I checked my speedo with a handheld gps a few weeks ago and it was always correct give or take 1km/h. So i think my speedo is pretty accurate and that the speed measure thing is pretty accurate too. I think the government should put in a bit of the money theyre making from all these fines into building a few more of these speed measurers, it would be great to be confident that when youre doing 103km/h that ur not going to be booked.

R31's are perfect for beginner installers. I put mine in myself (my old car). The head unit goes in perfect, lots of room for 6 inch splits in the front doors, a good spot for the tweeters up the top. Wiring is pretty easy two. Attached is the location of my front splits.

You dont need the commander unless you want to fiddle with it yourself.
