  1. Wrong. I rang UPI to get my car serviced and they told me they didnt open on saturdays. Maybe my voice wasnt sexy enough to get the special service
  2. I think everyones being a bit harsh, they're probably new and dont have much money etc for advertising/ good workshop. Ive seen pics of heaps of workshops in japan and they all look like little sheds and they still pump out good quality cars. Eg reckless in one of the latest eds of HPI. But then again they could post on here for free and they havent, and you think if they specialised in skylines they would know about australia's leading skyline website.
  3. So how do you change the diff oil? And how often, and what do you use? Same as gearbox? May as well do both at once.
  4. Its beautiful! How much was it, if you dont mind? And who made it? And do they make them for R32?
  5. THis is true but they all say only for 12 months after the date of purchase. So you could buy a new club lock every year for $60 as a kind of "insurance theft excess insurance"
  6. there is two threads going at the moment about this, both saying the same thing. I bought some Finer filter foam filter cleaner from autobarn, it was $20 for 1 litre. Use 100ml at a time so i guess it would last a while, but it just seems to be normal detergent so perhaps just use dishlex or whatever if you want to be really cheap. Just dont let your mum catch you stealing it. Im running unoiled at the moment but when i can get to autobarn i will oil it again. Does anyone know how many micron a car filter should be? (as in how small particles it should filter out)
  7. Arent these a road worthy item? I hope you dont get stuck failing a roadworthy because you sold ur $10 restraints and have to find some somewhere! But well done on sacrificing something that you own for the sake of SAU! Someone should buy these just out of principle! but not me, i already have a set.
  8. I just bought some oil filter cleaner from autobarn, it looks and smells exacly like detergent so i probably got ripped off. it was $20 for 1 litre, meant to use 50-100ml each time you clean the filter but mine was looking pretty dirty so i used about 300ml. I got a bit carried away but i guessed the element probably hadnt been cleaned since being put on the car years ago in japan. Air filter oil can be bought from autobarn or wherever.
  9. Thanks rob, wasnt sure as the new airinx is advertised as oil free. cant find any info about old products on the trust/greddy/grex blah blah blah web sites.
  10. But who says the 92-93 GTRs arnt just tarted up in japan to sell to australia aswell? I say that 3 years difference probably doesnt make much difference to the actual car, the difference in price would be as a result of other factors. Such as: Not being able to see or drive the car (therefore cheaper, higher risk) Add $3-4k for compliance for 92-93 models. The fact that there are less r32s in aus than in japan (therefore can demand a higher price) Hastle of importing, waiting until at least August/september to get ur car. The gtrs that are selling for $13-17k are most probably the sh!t ones, every now and then on the mailing lists you will see one thats $20-21 for a 89 car and think "why is this cars price higher?" and realise its because the car is worth that much. Factor in new tyres, rego, road worthy etc and the difference is not much.
  11. My car has an old style trust airinx filter. Not one of the yellow ones, but the boxy ones with the green element. Just cleaned it today with O2 rush filter cleaner and was wondering if i have to re-oil it or not? I cant seam to find the info anywhere. If yes, which filter oil do i use? Just the K&N stuff or whatever i can find in Autobarn? Sorry i know this probably should be in the maintenance forum, but i need an answer quickly as if it does need oil i dont want to be driving to far without it. Thanks Rhett
  12. COngratulations by the way, im sure the first few weeks you have it you'll find any excuse just to "nick down the shops"
  13. You drove it in japan? or did you buy it from a dealer who was waiting til they sold it to compliance it?
  14. I dont have an etag, so will prob be heading down toorak rd if thats ok. What the official route? Can i get a pm or email about it? Daz- i can also pick you up if you want a ride in a almost stock 32
  15. Yeah go ahead and tell us nark, no one else is online at the moment
  16. Unfortunately my car is not up to scratch. And either is my girlfriend. But ill come have a look
  17. I can also pick my passenger up as long as theyre on my route from mt martha to warrigul rd. Within reason of course.
  18. Since the dyno day has been cancelled at STI i guess im in. Im another cruise first timer so it will be great to meet everyone i havent met before (which is the vast majority of you). Ill have a spare seat next to me if anyones interested, ill be leaving from the SE departure point. But be warned i always drive with the windows down, and i only have a tape player (thats how stock my car is).
  19. oh well have to go another time, maybe when i have a few more mods!
  20. If your after info on getting a towbar for your skyline, there was a heap of info over on www.skylinesdownunder.com
  21. All cars under the new scheme will have to be returned completely back to stock, apart from bodykit and maybe wheels. The removed items must be destroyed or exported out of australia. So it probably will not be worth buying a modified car from japan. Importing cars has to be done through a RAWS workshop or registered auto workshop scheme workshop. THis means you give them the money and they buy the car for you in japan, then compliance it. Please correct me if im wrong. THis of course excludes private imports (cars owned and used by you overseas for more than 12 months) and 15+ year old cars (but this will probably change soon.)
  22. Awesome! Theyre going to take it out of its glass box just for us? But it might get dirty! I volunteer to stand there and stop people drooling on it.
  23. I know this may be hijacking the thread a bit, but does anyone run the Greddy e-01 boost controller? Are they worth the expense? Its a bit more expensive than the others (similar to AVCR) but im thinkng about getting one teamed up with an emanage when i get the money.
  24. There's nothing like a nice blue car with a set of white volk challenges with the blue rim inserts. Two thumbs up.
  25. INASNT - still going ahead, email beefy at [email protected] Deposits were meant to be in last friday, but email him anyway. I would be good to see another skyline there, at the moment its looking like there will be 4 skylines up against about 20 evos and wrx's. Im trying for 120kW at the wheels, so im going to be a little outpowered i think.
