  1. As in proving that you bought it before they changed the rule? As in changing the date on a certain something?
  2. They'll change the rules by next September, do you think that DOTARS or whoever havent realised what is going to happen next year? Shit loads of R32 GTRs, GTSt, MX5, S13, MR2, the list goes on. But good luck anyway, i would have liked a GTR for the same price as my GTSt, but in reality I dont think it is going to happen.
  3. Mine has a turbo and i pay $1700 ......and im 21 It would probably be fun driving over, are their any unrestricted speed zones on the way over? Or is that only NT?

    Just a quick...

Congrats on getting a skyline on ur L's. At least you wont get hassled by the cops. And its probably a good idea too, u will get used to the power and driving a RWD car with ur Mum/DAd sitting next to you, watching that u dont go doing burnouts or try to drift around every corner. Then when you get ur P's u wont kill yourself trying to show off to ur mates who cant drive.
  5. Im much like RaseR. I looked for about 5 months for an R32 GTSt and drove about 8 and saw about 15. Many of the cars out there are dodgy, it takes time to find the right car. I am proud that I ended up paying $16.5 for my R32 GTSt, because i got exactly what i wanted (except 4 sunroof). My car was in much better condition than any other i saw, and came with some expensive mods like wheels and suspension already. Roy - the price i think is reasonable for the amount of mods, but get the car checked out, even if its just NRMA, before you hand money over. Many people say that their inspections are shit, but they still find the major things that are the difference between buying a car that you will be able to sell again in the future and buying a POS that you will never be able to sell, maybe not even get it roadworthied. 6. I just bought the first Initial d dvd from autobarn. It has both the jap version and the american version on it. Apparently its going to come out on 10 DVDs or something, but you can only get the first 2 at the moment.
  7. Ive heard that you have to specify "heavy duty" when you order the clutch or else you just get the normal one. I think I heard this from max? not sure though..
  8. Hey, welcome to SAU. Its good to see a fellow X***Xer here. But im not really straight edge. Good choice on a skyline, but good luck getting one in America, apparently there is only 1 place that is allowed to import them called Motorex.
  9. Never met you, but have a good time. Pity u didnt buy my r31 wagon for the trip. Baldurs Gate - I love that game..
  10. I have seen this girl a few times too i think. I saw her about 2 weeks ago on dandy road on a thursday night. There was me with my white r32 and she had her white r33 and there was also a white 180SX. We got about 5 red lights in a row and had fun practicing our launches together... Havent seen SKYGAL for a while but she used to park near me at uni.
  11. Id love a free sticker too... Would be great for telling if the skyline that pulls up next to u is from the forums or not.
  12. My R32 GTSt was imported through SEI by the previous owner in march this year. Went well for him, but what he paid was pretty high. But then again the car is in really good condition. Ive been to SEI a few times and none of the cars there look like they are worth $17900, except maybe the yellow GTSt with the GTR kit. (if thats still there) But it was for sale for $24k or something. All the cars at SEI that ive seen look rough, stereos missing, tears in interior, and even ciggie butts in the ashtrays still!! But no one can comply R32s at the moment so unless u want to wait buying one here is the only option. I think $14000 to $17000 is a good price for the right car. who would want to get a R33 for $16k, when u can get an R32 for the same price!! hehe
  13. Thanks guys, will be giving them a call shortly.
  14. Hey, Its time I got my new car serviced, and im thinking ill go down to ice in Cheltenham. Everyone has said they are good. My question: Does SAU-Vic have a contact there? Like someone i should ask to speak to? Or can anyone recommend someone there that they have dealt with and was good? Rhett
  15. I know no skylines come with bonnet vents, thats not what i meant, i meant an aftermarket CAI vent, like a NASA vent. That way air goes into the bonnet not out like a bonnet vent like in the pic.
  16. I hear Autobarn are Veilside stockists now...
  17. I think skylineakt was talking about a scoop for cold air intake rather than vents for getting rid of hot underbonnet air. Sort of like some drift 180sx have the little intake above the headlight. I think this would be a good idea, better than running a CAI from the front bar. I think ive seen a skyline with a nissan patrol turbo diesel intercooler scoop used for this purpose, but i cant remember where exactly.
  18. Was a good turn out, nice to meet everyone. Unfortunately had to leave to go and do some uni work/waste time on internet. But ill definately be up for going on a few cruises now ive met a few people.
  19. There is a big difference between R32s and R33s, dont just make ur mind up on their prices. They cost about the same anyway. I think it is a resonable price, should be able to get it for $18k. If u are going to buy a car from a dealer it definately pays to get a check done, i had 2 done on 2 different cars before deciding on my new r32 and they were worth every cent. Looking back now if i had bought either of the 2 cars i got tested i would have been ripped off. The extra cost is worth it if u get a warrenty, but make sure u read the conditions and that its valid before u buy the car. My car came with 1 year warrenty, but when I looked into it after i bought the car it had to be serviced at intervals less than 5000kms to keep the warrenty . It had done 6500kms since last service, when i rang the warrenty company they said tough luck.
  20. Yeah thats what i meant too.... Ill b there well b4 1 so ill get a spot, everyone else can fight it out. I got a spot there today at 12 no probs, still 32 parks left.
  21. Yeah thats me, im the only R32 around eng. There was a black r32 but it seems the owner has moved on from uni. There's no mistaking ur car with ur plates.
  22. I think its a good place to meet initialy, if there ends up being a few cars we can always head somewhere else at 1.15pm or so. Everyone who is going should try to park along the back row on level 3, it would be good to have as many cars as possible next to each other.
  23. Ill b there, yeah i parked next to u today Maximus. The guy with the white series 2 R33 told me he'd be there too, but i dont know his name, he could even be one of u guys. Good idea about parking next to cams
  24. I recently bought a R32 GTSt in Melbourne and found good cars few and far between. Saw a few good ones, but many more dodgy cars. Eg. cars with no compliance plates but somehow registered, dealers not wanting me to get the car tested then when they finally agreed found the car had been a major accident -10L dint in fuel tank, missing aircon compressor and fan, changed instrument panel. Expect to spend at least a month looking then about $14-17k with roadworthy. Probably not worth buying a car without roadworthy if ur not really into engines, it could cost a lot more than uthink to get it on the road. Finally, depending on ur age, make sure u have at least $2k extra for insurance.
  25. Blue dials are definately only on early R32's. But they do look better than the grey ones so I guess a lot of people swap them.
