I was just at a car yard in Melbourne that specialises in imports this morning. All the skylines were 70-90kms, half of them had the sticker on the cam belt cover that says that the timing belt had been changed in japan at 100kms. Hmmm. And worse still, i could tell that those without the stickers had had them taken off - u could still c the mark of the outline on the plastic....

Anything that blocks ur no. plate from view is illegal and has been for ever. U cant say that this sort of thing is new. Its a big fine if ur caught using something like this, more than a lifetime of speeding tickets. (I think up to $20k??)

A new 3 inch cat would b a smaller restriction than the 3 inch pipe going through all the 2.5 inch flanges. Get a 3 inch exhaust all the way, with 3inch flanges.

Lambo, will try to answer ur questions, but im no expert. (dont even have a turbo car yet) Yes, when the excess air is vented to atmosphere, a similar volume of air is sucked in through the filter, and through the air flow meter. The air flow meter (AFM) tells the engine to inject heaps of fuel to make up for increased volume of air. Therefore AFR goes rich and car puffs smoke and maybe even stalls. Its not the volume of air getting 'to' the engine thats important, but the flow through the AFM. When throttle is shut, no air (little air) is getting to engine. With no blow off valve or with a plumb back type BOV, air is recirculated back into intake, after the AFM, therefore making no difference to AFRs. Yes.. and it does. Both plumb back and atmo venting BOVs do this. Hope that helped, Rhett

Hey, finally getting serious about getting a good car. Im after a r32 GTSt 5speed, must have sunroof, (or my gf will kill me!!:uh-huh: ) and be in good condition. GTR front bar if possible, prefer white, blue or any non standard colour. Minimal mods ok, exhaust filter etc. Have up to $15k to spend. I think ull find that most insurance policies have a clause that says that u r covered if someone else is driving if its a test drive, as long as ur in the vehicle with them. Eg famous have this, im pretty sure, even though its a ''named driver'' policy. I would never buy a car with out having driven it. Unless i bought it in japan... And i certainly wouldnt give someone a deposit before ive driven a car, especially not cash. Say if they do have an accident driving ur car, what u going to do, steal there money? Hold them 4 ransom? If any car dealer doesnt let u drive a car coz his "'insurance doesnt cover you"", tell him to f$@k off.. what a load of crap. Of course there insurance would cover all test drives.

Ive thought about that too. You could have all sorts of flames coming out of ur exhaust. Add salt get cool red flames. add little chucks of magnesium and have sparkling mega bright white flames. Add a few different chems and have a whole rainbow firing out the back of ur skyline!! :bahaha:

I go to monash clayton too, doing eng/arts. Ive only got a pos r31 but soon to be r32 GTSt. Theres a red r32 GTST in arts car park right now, a black r32 gtst and a white r33 in eng car park. Dont know whose they are, or if there any of yours. SKYGAL parks in eng car park i think.

The coolest bumber sticker ive seen was one on a silver r33 GTR at auto salon melbourne 2 years ago. It said "My other car is a porcshe, but today im in a hurry". Then he did a dyno run and got 348rwkw. Sick

Im turning 21 in a few months and stepping up to a R32 GTSt the day i get off my P's (victorian). Ive driven an R31 for the last 3 years, driving 600km a week, and never had an accident or a fine. I am glad that ive waited to own a powerful car, i think the experience if gained has probably saved my life at least 4 times now. PS Just thought Id say that u cant import a 91 model. Has to be later than June 92. And i thought there were no more R32 comp. plates left.

The car that u posted the link to is ment to be a "2nd half Model''? Is that series 2? Coz it doesnt look like seires 2, it has a series 1 grille, or am i wrong? Didnt series 2 start in 96

Ive read in a few magazines about a company called jap securities or something like that. There charging $250 to check if ur car was stolen in japan. Once ur import is complianced in australia, it doesnt matter anymore if it was stolen, as it gets a new VIN number, doesnt it? Unless u have a moral problem with driving some poor guys stolen baby...

Under RAWS (the new compliance scheme) apparently cars must be completely stock. Any aftermarket parts on a car when it arrives in australia must be destroyed. This might even include wheels! Well thats what i heard anyway...

You want to have 3rd party at least. Some guy crashed into my crap r31 and had no insurance last year. RACV sued him for me and he had to morgage his house to pay to fix my car. Dumbass. Imagine if u hit a $100,000 car, ull b in shit. $500 for 3rd party doesnt look so bad after all. Ive heard navtrak is good, better than quiktrak. Quiktrak works on radio signal so if ur not in the city its worth shit all. GPS works everywhere.

I seem to remember reading a report in a newpaper or somewhere that your reaction time when driving and using a hand-held mobile was twice as bad as when ur blood alcohol level is .05 Something to think about.

Who are Prosperion? Do they have a web site? And do they insure under 25s?
