Hey guys, I've had problems starting my car. This is what can be ruled out. 1) I've got 2 brand new batterys now. One extra extra heavy duty with big plates. 2) Alternator is fine, when car is on volts is 14.2 3) Starter motor is fine too. Now the problem is that, i charge my battery, end up being like 14.1 volts (that was after a few hours) and the car starts fine. However, once the car sits (today i drove it at 8.30am) and went to start it at 1.00pm the car was dead? :confused: I know for a fact that my alternator is charging the battery, because within a hour after it can still start. I have no amp, no headunit, but i do have neons (not on however) Should i take these out to rule them out of the question too? I also have a brant alarm, but i dont know if this could be the problem? how could i find out, i dont know where it is or how 2 by pass it? If anyone knows that can you PM me. If anyone has had this problem before, would you be able to tell me what it was on yours? or what i could try. Thanks in advance. This is a really frustrating matter! Dayne

Forget the qoutes, theyre all garbish! Suncorpmetaway or what ever, qouted me $550 for a '95 GTS, and then when i listed what i had (suspension, exhaust, stereo, and wheels) they said, that i wasn't eligable for their insurance anymore! All the qoutes are pezent, they dont mean anything until the insurance company commits to it, and for me, even still being a NA they said doesnt matter, the fact its a grey import! and told me 2 forget it. (even for 3rd party) as a i result the ONLY company that would touch me was Just cars, $850 for fire and theft, unlimited mods as long as legal and just for 3rd party minus $150 off it. Sorry but cheap insurance at your age? forget it. Unless your driving a barina:P Dayne

I've got a Rb20E mate and theyre not that bad, good car to learn on, still pisses on lancers and shit like that, so i wouldnt worry too much if thats what it is, rb25's are good motors, and by the sounds of the 24valve it sounds like one! Goodluck, and lets hope its a good car! It should also say on the compliance plate which is a green plate mines on top of the strut tower, and it'll say what make it is and who its complianced by and the date! Dayne

Spotted a red R31 skyline on adelaide av yesterday, was behind me then flew past, sounded pretty nice:) had a fmic and a couple gauges, big cannon, NSW numberplates, and only had 3 glowing lights. Dayne

rb25 - i've driven my parents VX II SS (which is only 225kws) many times, and as much as i love my jap cars, it was pretty amazing to drive. They go very well in the straights, and not to bad in the corners for what they are. I've absolutly handed it to a 350z in it, and just the other day with a full load (5 people - not me driving) we handed it to a young bloke in probably his parents prado (yes the car that you said he lost too) All in all the R32 GTR that a mate owns is quicker and handles better then it, but the cars are in totally different leagues. a GTR is what $100,000+ new, and a SS is $49,000, and both cars are used for totally different things, a SS would suit a large family with a boat etc, and a GTR would suit someone probably with a second car for the family, or if they didnt have a family and loved the track. Point being. a R34 will beat a new HSV, but those new 6L LS2's look pretty amazing, and probably wouldn't be 'as' far behind as they used to be some years ago. Dayne

Nice ride mate, Check on the suspension strut to see if it looks any different?? With adjustables i think you need a tool to wind them up and down too? did the seller give you it (if it does have adjustables) or he might of taken them out? I have no idea about the heater, but your on the right track i'd say. My heater makes the click noise too, its the vent getting jammed, mine still works however, i'd suggest you take the dash surround off, and have a look inside yourself. Been out and about today, saw a soarer loose it in the wet not much but enough, so everyone just needs to remember it hasn't rained in a long time and to slow down as the roads r full of water + oil. Drivesafe guys. Dayne

I've seen it, and i didnt know it was on the car (it was parked) and when i was walking it drew my attention sooo much, then i realised what it actually was, if i could see this that easily, imagine if you had a cop behind you how easily they could see it. Its really not worth it guys, best bet is not to speed at all, but if you have too dont do it where you know cameras are usually. Dayne

Be careful in the wet, mine gets loose and its a NA with better suspension, and was on 255's at the time, wouldn't want to hear about another skyline wrapped around a pole! Hey guys, had a search through the forums, found what i could but im still stuck! Ok, i've removed 3 clips at the top, ive taken the numberplate off, and removed the metal holder, but i still cant get the bar to come away on the sides? (down where it joins onto the rear 1/4 pannels, ive had a look inside and outside the car and cant seem to find anything? If anyone knows what im doing wrong, or where something is still done up, let me know. Thanks, Dayne

Sorry i'll fix that up My rubber is falken ze 326 series. 2x 255/40/r17, 2x 235/45/r17 Fair amount of rubber left on them, only want $300, EASY road legal, plenty tread left. The rubber is the same around (40,45) is just worked out on the width... works out the same hieght. Dayne

I dont know if this is what your after, but i have some falken rubber, cant remember the series but theyre 235/40/R17 and 255/45/R17... theyre off my old work rims which i stuffed.. Let me know if ur interested

Well, i've had my gearbox out of the car, apart, and the place wanted $1300 to rebuild it (change bearings and syncros) now thats with the box out, and split open? what a joke. So i went and got new bearings for like $200 all up and did it myself. You wont be able to do this unless you know what your doing + have big arse bearing pullers. Rebuilding the box is almost a waste, unless your running big HP your better getting a 'newer' second hand box. Dayne

Spotted a silver r33 gtr in woden, then a maron r33, black r33, and black r32 in manuka today... also just spotted me creaming a r31 then him wanting to fight me cause i made a fool of him.. lol.. also spotted a real tight series 2 silver gtst in braddon tonight aswell, was it anyone off here??
