  1. An Update. 17 n a bit psi and a little bit more time on the dyno. Cheers ANDY !! RPM scale is prob 200-300 rpm out as limiter is 7800 not 8000 ish. Still stock internal unknown km engine with stock cams n etc. I love these motors
  2. My Rb20 on NOS vs some other engines around these parts. Had 75 shot of gas and made of peak of 250rwhp with stock turbo. http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pHf...mp;output=image As you can see not much touches it in the 3000 - 3500 rpm range.
  3. S13 Silvia Stock Rb26 Nismo 600c injectors GT35R on 6boober Stock R cooler Power FC DJ Fist tune, 420rwhp @ 16psi
  4. dude, why is the intake temp less then the ambient temp ! I assume the tuner left the temp probe on the dyno. Your reading will be lower then others. Also explains why you made less low down hp in this tune then your original tune on page 1
  5. common debate this. "what turbo is more responsive" or "what turbo is less laggy" Now key thing here is lag is a measure of TIME ! By now most people should relise that dyno graphs showing rpm(or km/h) vs hp made do not tell you how laggy a motor is. As there is no time scale what so ever. Seat of the pants always sucks too. I remember a BMI where they tested an EVO(i think) which was 7kg lighter in the roof area. They crapped on how it "felt" faster and you could notice the 7kg difference. Then dropped a 7kg magnet on the roof and said it felt slow and handled worse. The lap times came up and the 7kg heavier(with magnet) car was consistantly faster and the top level drivers really had to eat there words !! Would be nice if we could come up with a rock solid way of measuring lag so that we could compare these setups. Not being a dyno operator I don't know what can be done. I am guessing though we would need logs of throttle % vs time vs tourqe. What you guys think ?? Wonder if DD could come up with set test so that we could compare cars.
  6. This is the correct answer !! If you insist on rebuilding the engine then don't bother with forged. As said above the stock 50k donks will do your power level easy. Also slapping forged pistons in a daily can be annoying if you end up with average pistons or average machine work. Just rebuild it using nissan gen parts and you will have a tough engine. Your biggest worry with a rebuild is finding a machinist that won't screw your engine somehow.
  7. only 1.5 weeks away .....
  8. OH and as for SAFC not making any more power. sus out this before and after SAFC. http://butters.throwinghandles.com/file_st...fcTuneSmall.jpg the AFR's of the scale without the SAFC and thats just with cooler, zorst and boost.
  9. Nistune is an advanced re-map. It accepts live changes making it easy to tune. It also comes with software pretty much featured to the level of a power FC. I had two rb20 cars. One got an SAFC and 14 psi and the other stock boost and nistune. http://butters.throwinghandles.com/file_st...veditvsSafc.jpg Thats the comparision graph. The nistune does make less power but that is only becuase it has no extra boost. You can clearly see the difference in the quaility of the curves. I won't buy an SAFC again !! Driving them is worlds apart to the Nistune is so much smoother and feels almost as fast as the higher hp tune.
  10. Consider hiring a car to get to Fuji. I did and I got to see so much on the way. Also went up the top of mount fuji after and had a blast. Drove around the mount fuji complex. ITS A HUGE PLACE ! Walking around it would suck, specially going from track to track. By the time you pay for train tickets there and back. Then taxi ride there and back your costs will be close to a hire car + fuel. You won't get to see anywhere near as much and you loose so much time in travel.
  11. Motor bike radiator fans are a good source. Anywhere from 4" to 7" and 12volt. Just gotta find a wrecker that doesnt want to charge a fortune.

  17. Had a quick read through and one thing I think everyone is missing , correct me if i am wrong ? The tuner said there was too much TIMING ! no matter how much you look at a dyno graph is never going to show that ! You need your dirty paws on the hand controller to see the numbers. That original graph is pretty wavery up top. Also as beer baron pointed out the scale is 2.5 afr points, so will be VERY up down on a different scale. Yes you should be seeing knock levels, assuming your knock sensors are working and not disabled. What knock numbers were you getting on the street ? I think you will find a good portion of WA tuners will tune on the cautious side of AFR's. There have been a couple of breaker tuners that given WA bad rep, so most tuners very careful now days. Your car is at what I understand to be a good tuner. Also Beer barons tune would be the sort of AFR"s i would be aiming at !
  18. That exhaust port work is tops. Taken it out a lot further then I thought they would. Also help me heaps when I do mine, cheers dude
  19. Got any higher detail shots of your exhaust port side after the work has been done ? The work done to the squish looks really good. Probably better then the ones I have had done. My old engine is now being used as a daily with a smaller turbo. Doesn't really lack any responce. I know in theory you loose effeciency as the fuel / air is not pushed towards the spark. I think you would be VERY hard pressed to tell the differnce in a real world situation though. Impossible to notice seat of the pants at any rate. You would loose a lot of responce though from the dropped compression ratio. There are ways around that but. Beer baron what do your engine guys do to avoid the compression ratio drop ? ..
  20. I've not found anyone that can confidently handle doing a RB26 guide job in perth If you do let me know !! It shouldn't be that hard a job but been a lot of failures around perth from replaced guides dropping or poorly installed guides damaging valves.
  21. Whats to much ? I am in perth and can recomend someone. As long as your not a knob ? PM me for details. Done two head squish area removes for me. Beer baron is 100 % on the money with the solution too. Thats exactly what I would do. You will end up with a lower compression engine though. You can shave the head to get some of that back but thats not an ideal way to go. Solution to that is --> MORE BOOST
  22. A lot of places have "hotspot" service too. You can buy a card for 500yen from convience store and it lasts 24 hours. Works over your wireless connection, the card has teh ssid and username / password.
  23. Don't need huge power to run times in an S13. Try and keep it light. I ran 11.4 @ 117mph in the Maytech drift car with sr20det and 235 rwkw un-opened engine(cept cams) so not a big $ spend either. Dirtgarage I love the mybuster rod test idea. I have seen some BIG(500rwhp+) hp SR's that people thought were jap full house builds been cracked open to find aftermarket pistons but factory stock SR rods.
  24. Some more normal utubes well sorta ....
