I actually didn't say anything to the cop regarding my speed at the time. Oh well, a lesson learned I suppose.
-
I agree with everyone in that there's always a first offence and tojust cop it on the chin, after all it was my fault. You do have a point there in that I haven't been driving for that long anyhow. Btw, I normally do leave early but I guess there's always a first hey? So anyway, it's all over with now so I'll accept it as it is. Thanks for all the comments.
-
Yeah he probably didn't want to bother. He suggested I write in though (maybe to sound like he was trying to help). The infringements people said I can try my luck and write in using my clean record to gain a 'caution' so I'll see if I can come up with a letter and some kinda excuse. Hehe yeah the 10th one would be a little more distressing, but you know how it is, it's disappointing losing your clean record to a silly mistake.

Hey guys, Was late for an appointment today and was speeding a bit near home (with an IS300 on my tail). Saw a cop car facing me and hit the brakes. He turned around and pulled us both over. Got me at 72 in a 50 zone. I told him I have a clean record and he said once it's logged he can't cancel it so I should write to them and they might consider it as I'm 21 and have had no offences whatsoever. The cop was okay about it but said unfortunately he couldn't do anything about it there. I acknowledge my mistake and understand that it's my own fault but hope to appeal with my clean record. What do you guys suggest I do? (or use in my argument). 3 points and $197 for a silly mistake is not good in anybody's language Anyway, just thought I'd get your opinions. Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions. Cheers

Anyone know what these Wheels are?
V-meister replied to GiJOr33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Hey R34GTT-R, those wheels are nice, do you mind if I ask where you got them and how much? Cheers -
S2000s are nice, I think I've seen that car somewhere before, but wouldn't know about his mods. I saw a scary sight a couple of months ago. It was a black s2000 with a massive fmic! Was around the Crows Nest area.

afew questions for my new car =)
V-meister replied to Dragon18's topic in General Automotive Discussion
It's cool to post on here, I think most people are general Nissan performance enthusiasts anyhow? I was gonna buy a Skyline, but ended up with a 200 but still post on here. Maybe you're just getting used to the power now? Anyway, sounds like a nice ride, post some pics if you have any. Cheers -
What non-performance car did you drive before?
V-meister replied to T0nyGTSt's topic in General Automotive Discussion
92 Pulsar Q, 1.6 litre, what a beast -
I think N/A Supras are pretty gutsy, I'd buy one over an FTO personally and I think they respond well to mods. The only thing is they are bulkier than an FTO but they are definitely sexier. Go the Supra! You gotta go without a wing though, looks yummy What colour are you looking at getting?
-
Supras are sexy, especially with chicks driving them FTO would be good, it's a little more 'girly' than a Supra as it's less bulky. But hey, you can't beat a nice clean Supra with no wing (personal preference) Good Luck with the decision

Champinco, I've heard that in Sydney R33s have become more of a target. I have an S15 actually but it is comprehensively insured as well as fitted with Quiktrak. I would personally probably get full insurance anyhow (as I'm pretty risk averse). Insurance is a killer but I guess that's the way it is now. As for Quiktrak, it gives me piece of mind so to me, it's worth the money. Good luck with the decision
-
I think Famous are based in Perth but they insure anywhere it seems. I have Quiktrak which cost me about $1850 to get installed (including the first year's tracking too). Tracking for subsequent years is $320 I think.

A§h Got His Skyline!!!! :) :)
V-meister replied to Ash's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Nice looking ride there a5h, very clean. The wheels are nice too. Congrats! Isn't that wing the Series 2 wing, not the GTR wing? Anyway, enjoy the car, looks slick! -
I did my degree at Sydney too MrR33! Just finished by degree in November. I was even thinking of going to the careers fair to check out any opportunities seeing as I'm not working at the moment. Do u know what dates? Thanks heaps
-
MrR33, I did the same majors. What uni are you at? Yeah, if you can get some good marks, you'll be set for approaching the grad rounds etc. Good luck with it
-
Hey MrR33, I just did a B.Com and am looking for a job at the moment. The best thing to do would be to apply during all the grad rounds/careers fairs etc. I didn't apply during those rounds as I had planned to go into business with a friend and we were working on that etc. But unfortunately, when the time came, it fell through and I had missed the grad rounds. If I didn't think that I had it planned, I'd have definitely gone hard in the grad rounds. Now I'm looking for a job in papers/web etc and they're a bit scarce (depending on what field etc) but I'm sure eventually I'll get something decent. Hippy, I think your prospects of getting a job are good with an honours degree and at least some experience. I've seen a few jobs advertised but dunno what the overall industry is like as I'm not in that field. But in my opinion, you should be able to get a job here.

That's an awesome little vid, gotta love the supra. Hey a5h, is that your car (soon to be) in your avatar?

I have Quiktrak on my car and I think it's worth the money for peace of mind. I've only had one call from them so far coz the vibration sensor went off in a carpark. It wasn't underground though. Their service was good, they called me to let me know what had happened then they called back 5 mins later after I went to check on my car.

My friend has a S2 R33 and he gets about 400km off a tank I think. The tank is 65 litres in the R33.

R33 GTST vs Honda S2000
V-meister replied to EnricoPalazzo's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
The S2000 is about $75000 brand new. It's got 176kW and 208Nm. How much torque does the Skyline have? Also, the 0-100 of an S2000 is 6.2 secs which is awesome for a 2 litre N/A don't you think? The S3 has 165kW and 280Nm and is claimed at 6.6 secs I think. I personally like the S2000s, they look pretty flash in black with red leather -
I heard Optimax has the highest sulphur content. The smell is sulphur dioxide and I get it after a spirited run in my S15. In my experience, Optimax is the smelliest. I don't think it's anything to worry about though, as Zahos said, some do it some don't.
-
I heard the R33 had a T25 or something and the 200 had a T28 ball-bearing turbo. I don't know though, that's just what I heard. Also, the Series 1 R33 apparently has a ceramic wheel and the Series 2 apparently has a plastic wheel.

What Alarm For 95 R33 GTS-T ?
V-meister replied to DJ_L3ThAL's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I just had Quiktrak installed in my car. They were very professional and now I feel I have total piece of mind. I'd say it's worth it but depends on the person. Quiktrak quotes $2150 incl first year's tracking ($320 per year after that). They give you a bit off sometimes if you are insured with a certain company etc, doesn't hurt to ask, I got a slight discount. Anyway, I'd recommend it but the choice is yours, good luck in finding a good system. Cheers -
Any differences between series 1 &2 R33 ?
V-meister replied to Blackness's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I think the plastic wheel thing is true. Must've been a cost cutting exercise, but some say it has a positive in that it spools quicker? JAGR33 covered the differences pretty well I think. As for ABS, it isn't standard in Series 2 either, in fact it's still quite rare to find ABS and sunroofs on Series 2s. My friend has a Series 2 with a sunroof (he was lucky) and no ABS. I prefer Series 2s personally, they look more modern. Hope this helps. -
Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone here uses the Brant Nemesis 1 or 2 and wanted to see what you think of it as a system. Any comments would be appreciated, Thanks
