  1. I have a NISMO catalogue here..according to it, R34 N1 turbos have a T3 compressor with an A/R .42 cover. They are only rated at 2 x 280PS too. This is the reason why we went for GT-SS turbos when we were in Japan rather than N1s.
  2. I think you'l find Bel Garage in Sydney can also tune the HKS Fcon. They will be about half the price of CRD too.
  3. Peter, do your turbos run A/R 0.60 comp housings? I'm pretty sure that the turbos that everyone calls "R34 N1" turbos only run .42 housings
  4. I agree with you totally...anything from HKS, Tomei, JUN, NISMO, Turst etc that I have ever seen has been excellent quality. Actually, I don't think I have seen anything (not just car parts) from Japan that weren't the best around. But...a couple of years ago when I was enquiring about pistons for an RB26, I was told that a couple of the Jap brands pistons were made by Arias. (Nick Arias wouldn't tell me which ones for obvious reasons) I haven't even seen an HKS piston, so I don't know if it was them or not. It would just be annoying paying 500bucks for 6 HKS logs...that's all.
  5. Stock motor with Tomei drop in cams. On the dyno, 1 bar comes up at about 4650, but target boost comes up VERY fast from there.
  6. I don't know why everyone seems to think this. The difference in lag between GT-RS turbines and 2530s is minimal.
  7. You are looking at the non-remote version (need to call to arm/disarm). The rpices I have quoted are for the REMOTE version. The site lists at $1285, but that is without the upgraded antenna.
  8. That's exactly what I was thinking
  9. Peter, I'm pretty sure that HKS and other Jap branded pistons are made by one of the US manufacturers anyway.
  10. Alot of people on here have probably heard about these units. I believe quite a few forum members have them in their vehicles. The units are a tracking security system which uses GPS (satellite) for position tracking and GSM for commuication. Basically, the way it works is that you have a small box mounted in your car, this box contains a simcard (supplied by the user). The user will receive a phone call and SMS if any of the following conditions are detected: Intruder (ie door opened) Ignition Tamper Tow away (detected using GPS if the vehicle moves a certain distance from where it was parked) Battery cut (if the intruder cuts the main battery, the unit runs of the included backup battery and notifies the user) Courtesy call if the battery voltage drops a set amount (eg if you left your lights on) The unit provides the following information in the SMS and phone call: Vehicle status (why the call was made) Vehicle Position Vehicle speed Direction of travel Distance from where vehicle was parked Distance from home base (user sets this to his own home) All information about your vehicle can be retrived at any time by making a phone call to your car's phone number and following the voice menus, or by sending an SMS and awaiting the reply. In addition to this, you also have the ability to lock/unlock the car from your phone (great if you left your keys on the car). You can also disable the engine at any time form your phone (good if you get hijacked). Note that the unit performs a soft cut for ~60sec before cutting engine totally for safety reasons. With optional software, you can even track your car on a moving map using your PC or PDA. Note that There are no ongoing fees with this unit, you only pay for the phone calls that it makes, which should be nothing unless your car gets broken into. I have negotiated a special price on the remote control ezitrak unit which comes with 2 remote key fobs. The normal RRP on the remote units from the manufaturer is about $1300. Note that this price is supply only, but anyone who has ever fitted a car alarm, boost controller, car stereo etc should be able to fit this unit...it is quite easy. More info on the unit can be found http://www.ezitrak.com.au/selfmonitored.htm
  11. Blitz...I don't think you can get the 2530KAI in T25 flange for RB26, can you?
  12. Standard GTR turbines ARE water cooled. 5K will get your turbo kit including fitting, but not much else. Budget another couple of grand for and ECU and injectors at least. In my opinion, if you are going to get 2530s, you might as well go for GTRSs...as they are much more modern, make power easier and aren't much laggier at all. I don't think 2530s are available anymore anyway. Otherwise, if you really want low down power, get GTSSs. Apparently, another good option are Tomei Turbines, but no one knows much about them our here. N1s are another good option, but you have to be careful, as there are quite a few different types.
  13. Yeah...it was great...can't say I'm a fan of dial your own, but I'm just having a whinge because I'm not consistent enough..hehe
  14. Has anyone had any experience with BP100 or SHELL100? Does it make power at the same sort of AFRs as Optimax? How much oxygen does it contain? More than Optimax? Will I get good results running it in a setup which is tuned for Optimax and just adding 2-3 degrees of timing? Would I be better off running something like VP103 or ET103. The Shell100 is tempting because it's higher octane rating and much lower price. Before anyone says anything, yes I know it is illegal for use on the street and yes I know it poisons the cat and the EGO sensors, but I won't be using it on the street and will only be running say 10L of it between tanks of normal 98RON fuel.
  15. Thanks mate...I'm pretty sure it won't crack a 10, but I'll be happy with consistent low 11s.
  16. Hey Paul, neither you or I are listed in the qualifiers for SR class. I think you should have qualfied 2nd and me 3rd...
  17. If that car is running stock turbines, it won't be running anything for very long at 17PSI...
  18. Alright...alright...hehe I expected alot of quicker cars to be there
  19. I got knocked out in the first round because I accidnetly changed my boost setting. I couldn't get the 1.6x 60ft times that I have done before, but I did manage a new best time of 11.3 at 124mph.
  20. I can't believe you are actually selling pirated goods on a public internet forum
  21. If you don't get boost creep...don't worry about it. If you do get boost creep...then worry about it alot.
  22. RB 26 engine shave serperate exhaust manifolds for the front and rear banks of three cylinders. Say the rear turbo goes, there is a fair amount of time when no gas is exiting the rear three cylinders. In fact, exhaust gas from the front three cylinders will help to push the ceramic pieces into the rear three chambers. The fact that the exhaust valves are still open while the piston is on the way down also helps to suck the particles in.
