  1. It actually WAS strapped dwon when it did that, then they decided to strap it a bit tighter. In the first place I had to ask Ben about 6 times to strap it down
  2. haha!!! "pft...yeah it looks like a monster"
  3. Couldn't have said it better myself. Now...where is morgs...a run with the two of us could be great to watch.
  4. haha...gold!!
  5. That's a super effort. I must have had my eyes closed though, because I was there before the first car went on. Did Ben strap it down? hmmm...1.8Litres from an RB30. That means a bit less than 52mm stroke. Can't be much meat left in the crank pins if it's been offset ground that much (in the wrong direction ). Could have super long rods in an RB30 block though...must be good for a gazillion revs!
  6. Were you there Brett...I didn't see you??
  7. Mik made 371kw. Boost is typically 1.45 bar. Thanks to Adam for organising and John for running. Also, thanks to Ben for finally listening to me and strapping it down...
  8. Only if they are lighter. More specifically, only if they have a lower moment of inertia.
  9. The BNR34 is a slug
  10. The Tomei RB28 kit comes with a forged semi counter crank that comes from the sae factory as the OEM Nissan one.
  11. Tomei do not do a billet stroker crank...
  12. I might come down too if it's not too late...
  13. With oil...not with that! I wouldn't be running it in on synthestic oil personally either.
  14. The engine was build by Tanaka
  15. You are game using assebly lube on the rings/bores. You better be planning on giving it a hard time during run in, or else I have a feeling you will be pulling it down again to deglaze the bores...
  16. Tommy, you could always do the 'wrong' thing and drop a BCNR33 box in it. Strong enough for 700PS with an aftermarket gearset and alot of the Japs do it. Can we fit two of them in your container??
  17. Are you feeling a bit green or something?? The quickest GTR ("The real deal down the 1/4") runs a big dollar (about 90k from memory) Jun 75.7mm stroke engine. Built in Japan by the Jun Machine shop using Jun parts. Please tell us the quickest car in Australia running an Rb26/30 combo? I don't know of any that run even low tens. If you are talking about Munro or Wilson's cars...they run Jap Giken 3 litre engines. What is yout basis for saying that the Japs are importing Rb30s from Aus...it's the first I've heard of it.
  18. I don't mean to hijack your for sale thread by any means, but maybe you should be honest about the tread on the tyres...particularly if you are hoping to ship the wheels/tyres. 4 tyres worn to the indicators does not mean they have 50% tread.
  19. You beat me to it...doesn't look good.
  20. They are all Tomei bits anyway...
  21. Yep...something else I forgot to mention was to check what sort of fasteners Tomei use in that engine. If they use Tomei Head, main and cam fasteners, they alone are worth a small fortune. It's worth replacing the old ones, and even OEM nissan ones aren't cheap.
  22. You might have to wait till Tommy gets his Tomei engine...because Micky only has a Micky engine
  23. I heard of them doing it...and then saw one with my own eyes at the drags a couple of years ago. It was a bog stock E46. I also knew a guy that worked for a BMW dealer in the workshop. I mentioned it to him and he said they had had a couple in the workshop too. As far as I know, it's only the E46s though.
  24. I reckon a few people do...quite a few have thrown rods out the side. The s2000 engine has a massive stroke for what it is too.
  25. If I had a Tomei engine...I'd race you Brett... Actually, when are you heading down next, I may even be up for a nice view of your tailights with my backyward engine
