  3. Bel Garage have been using braided oil feeds on GTR's for years...it also makes R&R of turbos much easier...and yiu need all the help you can get... Incidently, I checked my factory lines when I had them off and they were spottless.
  4. Wow!!! forums are so user friendly these days that even uneducated fools can use them to misquote people!!
  5. Oh...and I don't care how many beers you give me, ugly chicks are always ugly to me!
  6. Have you had a bit of practise Paul? Last I heard, it was 16 hours R&R for you. I would dig up the post, but I’m sure you have edited it, as all of your posts seem to be edited at some stage… Yes, I have seen it done in 5 hours, by a guy at one of your favourite workshops. And there were no leaks and no ‘bolts’ left off…not that there are many to put back on. But yeah, it’s an 8 hours job allowing for a bit of contingency…definitely not 16 though! Oh…and I’m no ‘master mechanic’ I didn’t spend 5 years busting my guts at uni to work on cars for a living, that’s for sure.
  7. I've seen other people in GTR's struglling to turn the steering and I was just wondering if it was permitted in S/RWD.
  8. I don't need practise...I have seen R&R done in about 5 hours...and that was by a bludger
  9. I'm not planning on it...if I go to the drags again, I will run in the same trim as I have always done. * Full weight, including all trim, spare wheel, tools and jack * Street Tyres * Full exhaust (a quiet one at that) * Stock Airbox * At least 3/4 tank fuel
  10. No way! 16 hrs to put the GTSS on and then another 16 hrs to pull them off is just way too much effort
  11. Who knows...but my p/steer is staying
  12. Do S/RWD rules allow you to disable factory fitted power steer?
  13. It definately wasn't idling at the time it let go either...
  14. I do the same with the tech edge...also too easy. Hey BMX, hows the wrx catch can?
  15. But then there is the no air cond, no power steeting, no clutch fan...
  16. About 700PS I believe...
  17. Nick...I'm with Tommy. I hav compared the response of my car to one with a T04z with a 0.81 housing, and the GTRS's spool up a little earlier and make similar power at the same boost level. I know they are different cars and there are a lot of variables, but the bottom line is whether or not it is worth the hassle and expense of going for a single and external gate. The big Tomei lowmounted twins are another option that would be interesting, or even a pair of Apexi turbines.
  18. Armed with a couple of thermocouples, I am going to start logging the EGT on my GTR. The problem is mounting the thermocouples. I know ideally, I should use 2 and mount one in each manifold between the exhaust port and the turbine (or even one per cylinder), but this isn't really an option. I don't feel like pulling the turbos off for no reason. The other option would be in the dump pipes, just after the turbines (ala BNR34 vspec), but again, I don't really want to pull the turbos off to get the dumps out, and I'd rather not weld a pair of bosses on the HKS dumps. So...I was thinking of mounting one thermocouple on each branch of the front pipes, as close to the flange as possible. That way, I'd end up with the thermocouples maybe 10 inches away from the turbines. Will this be close enough? What sort of EGT's are something to be concerned about?
  19. You'll be over the moon then...they'll be on way before that. Maybe 2835's would be better if you are going to rev it that hard.
  20. Don't do it!.. They are laggy POS's
  21. What sort of falken tyres? What width / offset are the wheels?
  22. Do the racing harts have centres?
  23. Nope...the valves will actually last about half a second
  24. around 650-700ps
