this is not that uncommon , not common but I have seen it before on a few r34s.
i think it is a problem with one of the sensors , probably the TPS
but as its pretty intermittent it can be hard to diagnose when its not happening , usually theres no stored error so consult doesn't help much when its fine
is it a triptronic ? if it is i would get it checked out because possible tps issues can cause gearbox problems
if these were traffic cops you would be gone , thats their job
more important cops have better things to do unless your an idiot , unlicensed driver , wanted criminal , crack dealer , meth head etc
hence the checks
34s are dropping a lot recently
if your not set on bay side blue which will mean a later model (i believe 00 ) and reasonable km (80-90) you could land and comply one for 22k
its possible to get 34s with much less km but costs will go up
as far as importing all I can suggest is to go with someone who actually gets each car individually inspected . Auction grade varies greatly and cant be trusted 100%.
rb20/30 and 25 de are all the basically the same box , phisically smaller than the 25det
33 s1 and s2 are the same box , 34 is basically the same box . externally can be spotted by extra webbing on the case . internally the same with different ratios
any 25det box will be the best to get

have heard of a few problems with ultimates on rb's
had a r34 auto with one here , owner gave up and removed
just be careful and do research , find a tuner with proven results on skylines and ultimates and talk to the owners of the tunes
even with an r33 auto I would run the pfc , for what you get there still worth 1500
you are supposed to get demerit points sent accross for interstate fines but the system is a shambles and it virtually never ever happens
but they will transfer all existing demerits when you transfer your license
we have both the last model and new model actual hks ssqv in stock and the copies now
copies sound the same as the real ssqv , the new model looks better though
we are importing a 34gtr for a customer now and if your ok with reasonable km you can get a 99/00 with 80-90000km for as low as 45k landed and complied . you may even get a vspec for not much more
80000km may frighten some people but remember these cars are now almost 10 years old so thats reasonably average km and a great price to get into a 34 gtr and we are seeing beautiful grade 4 cars come up at that price even with those km so we are still talking excellent quality
all our cars are of coarse hand picked and inspected in japan and our guys know skylines inside and out
for the record we have never had a car we supplied that couldn't be complied or even come close , were just not in that game
and you will save significantly from importing over stock cars as the stock ones come with warranty and are lot prepared etc
you can get a new one if you are lucky
you will have to get contact dotars , explain to them the situation . take lots of photos , even get a stat dec from a panel beater or engineer anything that might help convince them your not trying to do anything dodgy
easiest thing to do is just stick your old one back down with some hardcore glue
dotars changed the determination to move the compliance plate location from the engine bay to the door pillar a while ago , older imports will have them in the engine bay , its nothing to do with your particular compliance workshop . it was more to do with accident damage and rebirthing than deterioration that they moved it
i have been told its autowholesale from an informant in nissan
they actually have 2 , one came in a container
and they wont go over 180km an hour because of the gps racetrack limiter thing
